Acidity During Pregnancy - How It Can Be Dealt With?

Acidity During Pregnancy - How It Can Be Dealt With?

If you are experiencing heartburn during pregnancy, it is important for you to know about the ways of dealing with it. Heartburn, which is a fiery, painful sensation, occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) starts leaking or relaxing. This makes your stomach acids to flow up into the esophagus, resulting in acidity or heartburn. Pregnant women are more susceptible to heartburns because the relaxing hormone slows down the rate of digestion, thereby keeping food in the stomach for longer duration and triggering acidity.

Here are the various measures you should take for dealing with acidity during pregnancy:

  1. Follow regular eating patterns: Overeating triggers heart burns, and hence, you should eat less. During pregnancy, there is much less space in the stomach for it to expand. Maintaining a healthy diet in lesser quantities will help you in eliminating the heartburn throughout your pregnancy. You should eat several small meals a day instead of having two or three large meals. It is easier for your body to digest smaller meals.
  2. Avoid trigger foods: You need to identify the common foods, which trigger your heartburn, and eliminate them from your diet. You should abstain from consuming acidic food items like tomatoes, citrus fruits, fried and spicy food, coffee, carbonated drinks, and alcohol.
  3. Focus on fluids: A liquid diet causes much lesser problems compared to solid food products as they can move through your stomach quickly. You should consume milkshakes, soups, yoghurt, smoothies, puddings, and protein shakes. Try to take liquids, which are rich in protein like dairy products. While having solid foods, ensure that you chew them very well.
  4. Sleep properly: In order to avoid heartburn during the night, you must not eat anything three hours before going to sleep. You should make the head of your bed elevated by placing books or any solid object under the bed’s legs. You should sleep on your left side, which will make it difficult for stomach acids to travel up to your esophagus.
  5. Sit or stand up right after a meal: After taking any meal, you should take a short walk, undertake some housework, or sit down for a while. Avoid lying down, and abstain from doing anything for which you have to bend over.
  6. Wear comfortable clothes: You should wear loose-fitting clothes for dealing with acidity or heartburn during pregnancy. Tight clothing puts extra pressure on your abdomen, which is already crammed. This is capable of worsening acid reflux. Therefore, you should choose loose fitting maternity wear for eliminating acidity and heartburn.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Homeopathy offers a selection of remedies for the treatment of heartburn and painful acid reflux symptoms. Homeopathy works by giving a tiny dose of a remedy whose characteristics are similar to those of the person who needs that remedy. The remedy stimulates the individual's own vital force, or immune system, encouraging the body to heal itself. Homeopathic medicine relies not only on identifying the symptoms of the disease, but on a variety of personality traits, the person's mental state and other characteristic symptoms a patient exhibits which correlate to any particular remedy. When choosing a correct remedy for the treatment of heartburn, all aspects of the patient must be taken into account. A homeopathic constitutional treatment will give you best results naturally You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure without any side effects

The best treatment for fatty liver is exercise, combination of aerobic and strength training. Whey protein does not contribute to fatty liver provided you are exercising enough. Consume a low fat diet with less sugar, your aim in the gym has to be to reduce body fat, not only gain muscle if you want to really treat fatty liver.

What Causes Bladder Control Problems in Women?

What Causes Bladder Control Problems in Women?

Causes of bladder control problems in women

Urinary incontinence is the term used to describe bladder control problems that affect several people. Many think it only occurs among older, menopausal women but it actually isn't uncommon amid young and active women.

Inability to control the bladder accompanied by pain can be symptomatic of various disorders ranging from a minor infection to cancer. Fortunately, bladder cancer is rare, and bladder pain is usually not serious.

The varied causes of urinary incontinence in women are as follows:

  • Urinary tract infection: this is the most common cause of urinary incontinence and it affects women more than men due to anatomical factors. It can also happen at any age.
  • Medicinal side effect: the inability to control one's bladder may be a result of the administration of certain medicinal substances such as alpha-blockers, antidepressants, sleeping pills and various narcotics.
  • Changes in the reproductive system: pregnancy and fluctuations in hormone levels can cause bladder irritation, which leads to urinary incontinence.
  • Impacted stool: when stool gets tightly packed in the lower end of the digestive system and rectum, bladder control is affected. Chronic constipation and constraint strain on the lower intestines leads to the weakening of bladder muscles and hampers the bladder control.
  • Surgical side effects: temporary loss of control of the bladder is often a result of prior surgery and radiation therapy in the pelvic region.
  • Nerve damage and neurological disorders: strokes and spinal cord injuries have a heavy impact on bladder control and amount to urinary incontinence. Diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis also lead to the same.
  • Health complications: disorders such as diabetes and obesity directly affect the bladder and the ability to exercise control over it.
  • Disability and impaired mobility: for women who are physically impaired and suffer from problems of arthritis, urinary incontinence is a major problem as they are unable to reach the toilet easily.
  • Bladder cancer: even though it is extremely rare, bladder cancer affects a number of women every year and is treated through surgery and chemotherapy.

Doctor sir, My brother had severe stomach pain 2 days back at around 1: 30 in the morning. We admitted him and abdominal scan revealed Acute Pancreatitis (Pancreas is Hypoechoic - Do not know what it means). The doctors told that this comes to persons mainly with Smoking and Drinking problems. He did not have any bad habits and it was the first time he had a stomach problem.  The doctors told that he should be on IV for 3 days - no food, water or anything. Only fluids thru IV. The pain was pretty severe for him until the evening and at around 5, it subsided and he was Ok. He was able to relax after that and he had pain only when he stretched or doing something. He had some pain in the back as well, but it was far better than the pain he had in the morning.  Until around 11, he was perfectly alright and then around 12: 00, his BP started falling and he told like people look in different color. The doctors examined him and his pulse was completely down. They revived him in ICU little bit, he was conscious, but was breathing heavily. His BP was 85-45. We had to put him in Ventilator support and by around 3: 00, he suffered a massive heart attack and he was gone. They tried for nearly 40 minutes after that, but nothing happened.  I do not know how he could have died just because of Pancreatitis. Everywhere it says it will take at least 2 weeks, the organs have to fail. But, nothing of that sort happened.  I would be grateful if anyone can give me some details on what might have happened, at least we can save someone else. He was only 35.

Pancreatitis is a very bad disease. According to literature almost 30 % die due to this. Sorry to hear about your brother. It normally happens due to gall stones or alcohol.
