There are several things you can do to prevent a cold—they are all easy and inexpensive and worth the effort. Wash your hands often-with soap and warm water.The germs stick to the soap and get washed down the drain. Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. Cover Your Mouth and Nose When You Sneeze or Cough- Clean your hands every time you cough or sneeze. Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Nose, or Mouth-Germs are often spread when a person touches a contaminated surface and then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. Stay Home When You’re Sick-Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, don’t smoke, manage stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food so you can fend off viruses. In general you should: -Take healthy balanced diet...like boiled eggs.daily in breakfast .. -Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. -Routinely clean and disinfect common areas of your home. -get plenty of rest so your body can use its energy to fight the cold -staying at home will keep you from spreading germs -drink plenty of liquids like herbal tea or hot broth/vegetable/tomato soups. Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can keep you from getting enough sleep -Runny Nose and Sneezing- if you have post nasal drip, gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. Drink extra fluids. (avoid sugary and high calorie drinks) -Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation • Tablet Nasorest-P once/twice daily may reduce the amount of mucous. • Do steam inhalation once or twice daily Treatment:There is a gradual 1-3 day onset of symptoms. It often starts out as a sore throat, then a fever and coughing. As the cold progresses, the nasal mucus may thicken which is the last stage before the cold dries up. A cold usually lasts for a week or two. But, taking good care of yourself at home can relieve symptoms and help prevent complications if you are otherwise healthy. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn’t need medical treatment. Complications include bacterial infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs which must be treated with antibiotics. Cough-Coughing is how your body gets rid of debris and mucus from the airways during a viral infection. Unless your cough is severe or is keeping you from resting at night, it is better not to treat it. A severe cough can be treated with a cough syp, but don’t try to completely stop the cough. There are two types of coughs. Productive and non-productive or dry cough. Non-productive, dry cough. A dry, hacking cough may develop near the end of a cold. Dry coughs that follow viral colds are often worse at night and can last up to several weeks. Take syrup Alex-D for a dry cough. Cough drops can sooth an irritated throat, but most don’t affect the cough. Productive cough. A productive cough is one that brings up mucus from the back of the throat or the lungs. Productive coughs should not be suppressed to the point they no longer bring up mucus. Use syrup Alex. Drink lots of water if you have a productive cough. Head and Body Aches- Take tablet dolo-650 mg for fever once or twice daily

I had been operated my gal bladder 2 months back. I am taking medicine for high bp. I take the medicine in the night before bed. Morning it showing correct but when I check in the evening bp goes high. Medicine name is 1. Telmisartan 40 mg 2. Torsemide & spironolactone 5 mg once in a day. Is it required to change the medicine or should continue with this only.

Hello, for pink stretch marks: you can massage gently any good brand oil containing more percentage of vitamin e like olive oil, coconut oil, egg oil, bio-oil twice and aloe vera daily, but after completion of 1&1/2 months of giving birth (if the delivery was normal) or after 4 months (in case of caesarean section that too depends upon the condition of the stitches and the area). Make sure you are eating a nutrient based diet. Make sure that your skin is getting the proper nutrition so that it can repair and stay healthy. Drink enough water (2 litres daily), as the skin loses its elasticity when you are dehydrated. Being at a healthy weight also helps. Use vaseline, or petroleum jelly to keep the skin moisturized. Can take vitamin c & e orally. *******************if the stretch marks are white in colour, then you will have to opt for laser which can only help you to reduce it to some extent only; consult a dermatologist**************************

Most people with sedentary jobs end up having some severe health ailments in the long run. To be careful is a good idea. Try doing the following exercises while at your desk, to ensure fitness if when you sit all day.

1) calf raises - stand straight next to your desk or a table. Remove your shoes for ankle movement. Pull your heels off the floor, but keep your toes on the ground so that you are on tiptoe. Bring your heel back to the ground. Repeat.
2) leg lifts - sit on your chair with your back straight. Pull your knees towards your desk, so that your toes are raised a few inches from the ground. Hold for some time and bring your feet back to its position. Repeat with one leg at a time.
3) shin flexes - do the opposite of calf raises but while sitting on your chair. Keep your heels firmly on the ground and lift your toes. Bring them back to the ground after a few seconds and repeat.
4) take a break - look in a distance for a couple of minutes and then roll your eyes and turns head at least 10 times. Clear your mind and blink your eyes more often.
5) foot taps - you know how football players tap their feet during warm ups? do that with your feet while sitting on your own chair. Simply tap your feet on the ground, as fast as you can, for about 30 seconds.

Follow these best methods to easily gain weight and get a healthy body - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid smoking & alcohol drinkg completely. 6. You can try protein powders like milk powder, soya protein for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

It is dysmenorrhea. Causes may be anaemia or hormonal disbalance. Better to give her iron rich diet. The best natural sources are green leaves. Max leaves should be given by way of salad or sabzi. To support it further, I recommend to my own patients, ayurveda kasisadi or raj pravartini vati 2 bid with kumaryasava and lohasava. Vati may be started 5 days prior to expected date for 5, 7 or 10 days or till periods come. Long walks, deep breathing suggested. No heavy food. Deep fries etc. Avoid report after 4 weeks or after next period. For personalised details, come thru private consultancy.

Hello, My age is 59 years. Nowadays when I go for walk early morning I get tired in very less time. This is happening from past 1 week I had been diagnosed for blood pressure and sugar. However as per last test 3 months back everything is at level. I am not taking any medicine for that as it remains always normal Please guide for the possible reasons in this case.

Hye. Thankyou for the query. Firstly you must know that being a diabetic you are actually not getting enough energy due to lack of glucose entering your cells. You need to plan a good diabetic diet to help body receive the right nutrients. Secondly, going for a walk empty stomach early mornings is the most common and dangerous mistake most people make. You must never undertake any strenuous activity empty stomach. Eat an early balanced dinner so that your digestion is complete by morning and have a fruit or dairy 15 minutes before you go for your exercise. Stay hydrated during and after workout. Your diet may be needed to be planned depending on your blood glucose levels. Lastly, never exercise if your blood sugar and blood pressure is high.

Hello, why do you think that she is Hormonal deficient and you should give her Hormonal medicines. If you want her to gain weight then follow the below treatment ;- 1. Take alfalfa tonic(wsi), 2 – 2 tsp. Thrice a day, half an hour before meals. 2. Calcarea phos 200, 5 drops , once in aweek , morning empty stomach for 2 weeks. 3.
