Red eye has many causes. You have to see if it is associated with blurring of vision, pain, discharge and other complaints. But commonly its allergic or infective in origin ie allergic or infective conjunctivitis. Which has simple treatment protocol. But still its wise to see an ophthalmologist for a thorough slit lamp examination to rule out other differentials for acute red eye. For pain in backe, I advice refer to an orthopaedician and tests done like xray, vit d levels, calcium levels, bone densitometry and vit b12 levels.

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am 43 yrs. Old, have lower back pain since last four yrs. But it is continuous since last 4-5 months & also felling stiff neck (sometimes pain in back of skull) & upper back (both side of back bone) sometimes. Usually takes paracetamol-ibuprofen (500 mg a day) to relieve pain. In last 2 -3 months, have taken around 30-40 tabs. Also I don't have very good lever, usually need to take ranitidine. Pls help.

Back pain is a very comon problem in our daily routine life. Its an occuptional problem. Back pain problm dovelops in series but it occur suddnly due to our lyf styl. You said dt you hv problm since lst 4yr bt it continues frm 5 mnths. As I told dt. The structure of our spine is very complicated. There is no support in our lower back area. Dre iz olwys a curve either sitting, standing, or even lying. So dre izz no support. So muscules of dis area iz very weak due to its musculature or dre izz no support. Or our lyf style. The lower spine resist almost 50% weight of our body. When we doing any kind of movmnt where lower spine bend. It means the gravitational force work wid 50% body weight. So dre izz olredy muscles r weak nd they are furthr weak due to forewrad movmnt of lower spine. So the main thingh iss dt. Avoid oll d forewrd movmnt of spine as much you can. Avoid low floor sitting. Avoid stairs climbing. Nd avoid any prolong posture. Sitting, standing. Walking. Sit olwys wid lower back supoort -coushion or back rest at home or at your wrk palace. Moist heet fomantation apply atlest 20 min 2 times a day. When pain izz subsides about 60% than you can start muscles strengthning exercises or stretching can b don. Last not d lest --increase your water intake atlest 4 ltr a day. Thnxx.

5 winning way to reduce muscle tightness and pain.

Drinking plenty of water, often considered to be between eight to ten glasses per day, provides many benefits such as preventing and relieving tight and cramped muscles related to dehydration. However, tight muscles can have a variety of causes and might require dietary and lifestyle changes to adequately deal with.
Minerals, electrolytes and water are all needed for normal muscle tone and function. Calcium is especially important for contraction, magnesium is needed for relaxation, and water for firmness and electrolyte exchange.

Athletes commonly have tight muscles and also people who are under stress. Tight muscles lose their flexibility and might become painful to the touch. Mineral deficiency, especially magnesium, can lead to muscle tightness, twitching and maybe even restless leg syndrome at night. A lack of electrolytes, such as sodium, interferes with nerve conductance to muscle fibers and results in tightness and spasms. Poor blood circulation hampers the minerals, electrolytes and water getting to muscles, which can cause symptoms.

Most of us drink a lot of beverages but it has either caffeine or alcohol which can both lead to mild dehydration.

5 winning ways to reduce muscle tightness and pain.

1. Drink plenty of water (recommended about 8 glasses a day)

2. Reduce caffeine and alcohol intake. (cut down tea, coffee, aerated drinks, alcohol). Alcohol and caffeine cause mild dehydration which can lead to muscle tightness.

3. Foods that reduce muscle tightness and cramps
Foods rich in magnesium such as bananas can help. Use sea salt with food as the sodium in it helps relax muscle cramps. Potassium rich foods such as avocados, potatoes, bananas, broccoli, orange juice, soybeans, apricots, and raisins can decrease tightness and cramps. Milk has a large amount of vitamin d, which will reduce your chances of cramping. Have one to two glasses of milk each day to help you prevent cramps. As a bonus, all the calcium in whole milk will also contribute to healthy bone growth.

4. Stretching exercises.
Stretching exercises will help release chemical substances called endorphins that help reduce pain. Also it helps elongate tight and contracted muscle fibers.

Hi I am 22 yr old, height 5, 5 and weight 64. I live in pune. I got a lower back problem. Actually it hurts and increase normally when I sit or lay down and this pain shifts around lower back and hips. In standing there is no problem at all. Although I run 3-4 kilometer. But there is nothing wrong with standing position. I visited several doctors and did all tests like mri, x ray etc (note- in mri found mild bone marrow edema in s1 segment on right side adjacent to the si joint) but nothing serious found doctors said. I have taken many medicine but still its as it is and no improvement. Kindly please tell me what it can be and suggest me for the best. And any specialist for such problem please share. Thanks.

Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Once I fell down from bike and balanced my two palms from that event I got pain in my thumb and next finger of thumb, I already took xray, scan and nothing happened in bones and checked physiotherapy too, I have doubt in neurological problem? because I can do exercise and heavy lifting but small work writing and message typing I got pain in fingers and in palm under the thumb.

Better do have mri scan for your wrist joint affected side and do get clinically examined by musculoskeletal physiotherapist or orthopaedician asap.

Hello Lybrate user according to Ayurveda Vata vikriti is the main factor for pain. Treatment- 1-apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation. 2-take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. 3-Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. 4-Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Sir I have pain in back from 2 years I have mri report but no nuro problem but I lift some more weight so Dr. Say stretch in muscles. Sir there is continuous pain in back and when pain is more then pain in leg bone difficult to walk sometimes. I consulted Dr. Again he advised for exercise. Finger exercise dear you can do it easly…………1, Pinch Strengthener This exercise helps strengthen the muscles of your fingers and thumb. It can help you turn keys, open food packages, and use the gas pump more easily. •Pinch a soft foam ball or some putty between the tips of your fingers and your thumb. •Hold for 30 to 60 seconds. •Repeat 10 to 15 times on both hands. Do this exercise two to three times a week, but rest your hands for 48 hours in between sessions. Don't do this exercise if your thumb joint is damage Finger Lift Use this exercise to help increase the range of motion and flexibility in your fingers. •Place your hand flat, palm down, on a table or other surface. •Gently lift one finger at a time off of the table and then lower it. •You can also lift all your fingers and thumb at once, and then lower. •Repeat eight to 12 times on each han Thumb Extension Strengthening the muscles of your thumbs can help you grab and lift heavy things like cans and bottles. •Put your hand flat on a table. Wrap a rubber band around your hand at the base of your finger joints. •Gently move your thumb away from your fingers as far as you can. •Hold for 30 to 60 seconds and release. •Repeat 10 to 15 times with both hands. Hand splints should be used. She requires hot fermentation. Active movements of hand should be done otherwise there will be more stiffness. Squeezing smiley ball activity can be done, this is for hand strengthening.
