I am having pain on the left side of my throat while swallowing and while yawning from last two weeks. Only on the left side. Apparently I thought it might be due to cold but then its nearly three weeks (more than two) the pain is persisting. The pain is felt more when I lie down in bed and swallow the saliva that comes in the mouth naturally. What should I do?

Hello. For sore throat: - Avoid cold things, fried/ oily food. -Avoid excessive use of voice/ roughly using voice or else shouting. - Gargle with salt and warm water solution thrice daily. - Take Ginger tea. - Avoid excessive cold air or sudden change of temperature (like coming from heat/ sunlight to an A/C room). - Can cover your throat with a stole. Medication: Take homoeopathic medications - Schwabe's Alpha- CF/ 1 tab. And SBL's Stodal cough lozenges – all of them thrice a day daily- for 4 days.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Injury to the cartilage takes a longer time to heal. Swelling and even pain can remain for a longer time. You will have to follow whatever your treating doctor asks you to do. Thanks.

She may have globus hystericus and need endoscopy to clear the doubts .There could be different factors that lead to an obstruction in your throat, such as: Swallowing Hard Objects: You may suffer from a throat obstruction problem, after a piece of food gets stuck in your throat. This is more common in case of chicken or fish bones. This is also very common in children, who could swallow a hard piece of candy without chewing it properly, or even other inedible objects. Infection: There are many small glands, like the lymphatic nodes present in the neck and throat area. These nodes perform the important function of protecting your body against infection and are a part of the immune system. If you are suffering from a throat infection, these nodes have the tendency to swell up, as they try to combat the infection-causing germs. Mucus:At times, you may feel the presence of a lump in your throat, which is actually an accumulation of excess mucus. While this is not exactly a major problem, it could lead to a sore throat or an infection. Abnormal Growth: A tumor can develop in any part of the body, including the throat. Some of these tumors are benign, but in other cases, a lump in the throat could actually be a symptom of throat cancer, which is a major cause for concern and should be treated without any delay. Enlarged Thyroid: In case your thyroid gland is enlarged, it could mean that your body is producing too many hormones, which causes the organ to grow more than normal. This may also be evident in the form of a lump on the thyroid gland, which presses on to the throat as well as the esophagus.

Reduce your exposure to things that may make your tinnitus worse. Common examples include loud noises, caffeine and nicotine. Cover up the noise. In a quiet setting, a fan, soft music or low-volume radio static may help mask the noise from tinnitus.

My 3 year son was having ear pain at midnight 5 days back, we immediately seek for doctor advice. The dr provided paracetamol, and an ear drop. Next day fever started with ear pain, I went for ent specialist, he gave antibiotics, combiflam and nasal drops, and said it was due to congestion of cough, that has blocked the ear also, that was responsible for pain. After 2 days of treatment fever resumed in the morning and evening, it went from 98 to 103 also once. But after giving crocin it disappers. Now, dr asked to go for typhoid and malarial test, which was also negative, and fever is still, recuuring like that. The dr has asked to go for malaraial medicines. I need your suggestion.

Hello pain in ears when child has nose and throat infection is very common. Medicines given were correct. Normally viral fever lasts for 5 days to a week where fever is high, but to be on the safer side and not to miss anything which can be easily treated and also when diseases like dengue and malaria are rampent, its better follow whatever your doctor has adviced.
