How To Stop Thinking About Sex?

How To Stop Thinking About Sex?

Thinking about sex is perfectly natural. We're hormonal, sexual beings, whose genes drive us to procreate. But sometimes, sexual thoughts can become overwhelming, making it difficult to focus and difficult to get simple things done. However, it's possible for those urges and desires to become more like background noise as you go through your everyday life, especially when you should be thinking more about career, education, health, interests and hobbies, family and friends, money, etc. Read after the jump to begin learning to stop thinking about sex.

Avoiding Triggers

Understand and anticipate categories of triggers. While it might be easy to identify specific triggers or situational triggers, such as those above, try to see if you can isolate patterns to your triggers. This understanding can help you become more proactive about the types of things to avoid when trying to decrease sexual thoughts.

  • Do your triggers tend to be more visual or more verbal? Men, for example, tend to be more turned on by visual stimuli,
  • while women might be more affected by verbal ones.

Know your own particular triggers. If a particular person, time of day, or emotion always leads you to distracting thoughts about sex, learn to identify those triggers that drag your mind into the gutter. Create a list of your triggers. Maybe you always think about sex:

  • First thing in the morning.
  • During a particular class, like gym, yoga, etc.
  • On the bus.
  • When you're supposed to be studying or working.
  • When you're around the opposite/same sex.
  • In bed.

Make it difficult to look at pornography. While it might seem like a way to satisfy sexual urges temporarily, developing an unhealthy reliance on or relationship with pornography could spiral into more and more sexual thoughts, making it very hard to get free of their grip.

  • Get rid of pornographic videos, magazines, calendars, and other materials in your house and, to the best of your ability, avoid watching it.
  • If you have a firewall guard in your computer, try to enable parental controls, and put the profile to teen so you won't accidentally stumble across any pornography. Parental controls don’t have to be just for kids, of course, and you can set them up on all your browsers and other devices.

I think I have erectile dysfunction. Hardness while in erection has decreased and maintaining hard erection has become difficult. It has started from last 6-7 months. What's your advice.

You are suffering from grade IInd erectile dysfunction. A healthy erection must be hard enough even after the discharge. Hardness plays a major role during sexual satisfaction and pleasure. ED after 25 is mainly due to work stress, lack of sleep, dietary deficiency , smoking/alcohol addiction, and health disorders like asthma, diabetes etc. I recommend you to start aphrodisiac medicines. It will improve the blood flow towards the penis and weak muscle and nerve will get a boost resulting in a hard and long erection during sex.

What Are The Common STD Diseases?

MD
Sexologist, Srinagar
What Are The Common STD Diseases?

Do you know about the different types of sexually transmitted diseases and how they are caused? STDs are caused mostly by bacterial infections. The bacteria get transmitted while having sex, in the case of most common STDs. There are several STDs which commonly occur in people, primarily because of having unprotected sex.

Causes:

There are various forms of infections, including bacteria like gonorrhea and syphilis, viral STDs like HIV, ghnital herpes, hepatitis B, and genital warts. The germs which lead to the STDs dwell in the semen, vaginal secretions, and saliva. The transmission mostly occurs through vaginal, anal, and oral contact. Certain STDs are caused due to skin contact.

Types of STDs:

The most common STD diseases are as follows:

  1. Chlamydia- This bacterial infection occurs in your genital tract, and it is difficult to diagnose as no early symptoms are always experienced. The disease strikes three weeks after the exposure to the responsible bacteria. Lower abdominal pain and vaginal discharge are indicated as symptoms.

  2. Gonorrhea- This is a bacterial infection, which affects the genital tract. It can also develop in your eyes, mouth, throat, and anus. The symptoms start appearing within ten days of the exposure. Major symptoms include thick, bloody discharge from the penis or vagina. Painful sensation while urinating is also indicated.

  3. Trichomoniasis- This STD occurs from a microscopic, single-celled parasite called trichomonas vaginitis. It is commonly transmitted during sexual intercourse with an affected individual. In the case of men, the disease infects the urinary tract, without showing any symptoms in many cases. In women, the vagina is affected. The condition appears twenty-eight days within exposure. Mild irritation and severe inflammation are common symptoms. A clear white, greenish or yellowish vaginal discharge is likely in women, while discharge from the penis occurs in the case of men.

  4. HIV- HIV occurs because of the human immunodeficiency virus. HIV is a severe health disease which disrupts your body’s immune system, or your body’s ability to fight fungi and bacteria that lead to illness. HIV results in AIDS, which is a chronic, life-threatening condition. Commonly, early stage symptoms are not experienced in case of HIV. An illness which is similar to flu within two to six weeks of infection is likely to occur in some patients. You need to take a screening test for HIV for the diagnosis of this condition.

Another common STD which occurs is genital herpes. This is caused due to a certain form of the HSV or herpes simplex virus. The virus enters your body through tiny breaks in your skin membrane or mucous. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

This condition is called premature ejaculation, though 2-3 mins is not that bad. Usually people have intercourse between 5-10 mins. You need to be evaluated for the PE problem. It can be treated by behavior therapy approaches like start-stop, and start-squeeze techniques and also by medications. Consult a psychiatrist, all the best.

Erectile Dysfunction In Males - The Problem And The Solutions

Erectile Dysfunction In Males - The Problem And The Solutions

Erectile Dysfunction In Males - The Problem And The Solutions

More than 100 million men in the world suffer from some degree of erectile dysfunction (ED). The highest percentage of affected males is in the age group of 60+ with about 60%; in the age group of 40-70 the ED affects about 52%; and in the age bracket of 20-39 the percentage is about 10-15%, but there is a trend that this younger group is suffering more of this symptom.

What Is The Real Problem?

It is usually regarded by many and seen more as a problem of aging than anything else. However, this is not so. Even though the many men are now advocating stronger health consciousness. This group generally stays away from unhealthy foods and live an active lifestyle like outdoor sports. It is not uncommon to find this younger group of males affected by ED.

This is because the global consumerist lifestyle is catching up with the younger generation. Also, young men are not so keen to discuss matters that affect their erection with their doctor. In most cases, ED is just swept under the carpet with the hope that it will solve itself. Well, it surely does not; rather without proper and timely treatment, it may even go from bad to worse.

What Is The Solution Today?

The solution is as simple as it is obvious. Awareness needs to be built in among the young masses so ED would be reported in the first stages when it is easiest to reverse. It is important that both doctors and 'patients' understand that erectile dysfunction in males is not something to be ashamed of. It is a health condition, which is in 9 out of 10 cases completely reversible - provided the man received medical attention at the earliest signs of problem.

Awareness should be propagated at all levels - for even most doctors are not very comfortable with the subject of erectile dysfunction. The sexual prowess is so closely intertwined with the macho image of a man everywhere that in most cases, men prefer to try out alternative medication or order incognito over the Net for medication such as the FDA approved three potent ED drugs - Viagra, Levitra and Cialis.

With these three FDA approved ED-treatment drugs you can tackle a vast majority of erectile dysfunction hiccups. These three drugs are quite popular for erectile dysfunction in males. So are a host of herbal/ home remedies that can reverse this condition almost overnight.
