Hello, Low weight indian females mostly associated with low blood hb. Low hb result in anovulatary cycle in menses which affects pregnancy. Improve the health of your wife, enhance dairy products in her meal, avoid spicy and fast foods, avoid late night workout and always have an apple in both meals.

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding - How Best to Diagnose It?

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding - How Best to Diagnose It?

It is perfectly normal for women to experience the periodic monthly bleeding cycle. However, if a woman experiences uterine bleeding which is abnormal and dysfunctional, it could be a symptom of infection. Other causes of abnormal uterine bleeding include hormonal imbalance, infection in cervix and cancer of the uterus. Many women can also experience abnormal uterine bleeding during first trimester of pregnancy.

The following are considered to be abnormal or dysfunctional uterine bleeding:

  1. A menstrual cycles occurs between 21 to 35 days, anything shorter or longer than this is abnormal
  2. No period for 3–6 months (amenorrhea) is abnormal
  3. Spotting or bleeding between periods
  4. Spotting or bleeding after intercourse
  5. Bleeding that is heavier or lasts longer than usual
  6. Spotting or bleeding after menopause

What can cause such a situation?

Some of the common causes leading to abnormal bleeding are as follows:

  1. Miscarriage
  2. Ectopic pregnancy
  3. Pregnancy
  4. Cervical or uterine infections
  5. Fibroids
  6. Hormonal imbalances
  7. Problems with blood clotting
  8. Polyps
  9. Polycystic ovarian
  10. Endometrial hyperplasia
  11. Cancer of the reproductive tract

How to Diagnose it?

Most women tend to ignore abnormal bleeding, taking it as something to do with age or hormones. A detailed physical examination and history is done to understand menstrual cycle patterns and family history. In addition, the following would be used.

  1. Ultrasound: The pelvic organs are examined through sound waves to locate the problem area
  2. Hysteroscopy: Through a thin device that is inserted into the vagina, the doctor takes a look at the inside of the organs and identify the cause for the bleeding
  3. Endometrial biopsy: The uterine lining tissue is removed and examined under microscope to look for tissue changes that could be causing the bleeding

How Best to Treat It?

This would depend on the reason for the abnormal bleeding. However, in most cases, combinations of the following are useful in treatment.

  1. Hormone replacement can be done depending on the age and gynecological history, the type and the dose of the hormone would be decided upon. These could be in the form of tablets, vaginal creams, injections, or through an intrauterine device
  2. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen are useful in reducing bleeding and controlling cramps during excessive menstrual bleeding.
  3. Antibiotics may be useful if there is infection of the pelvic organs.
  4. Polyps, cysts, cancers, and other growths can be removed via hysteroscopy and sent for biopsy to confirm they are not cancerous.
  5. Endometrial ablation where the endometrial tissue is treated with heat can be used to control bleeding permanently.
  6. Hysterectomy would be done if other forms of treatment have failed. This could depend on their gynecologic history and other considerations as she cannot get pregnant after this.

Do not ignore if you see a change in the pattern of your uterine bleeding. It definitely calls for medical attention and if identified early, can be managed in much simpler ways. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

How to use condoms Male condom Female condom

How to use condoms Male condom Female condom
Male and female condoms can be used to protect you from HIV. But don't use them both at the same time! If used together, they won't stay in place, and they can tear or become damaged. Read the instructions and practice a few times before using condoms for the first time. Also, follow these guidelines:

Male condom

Use male condoms made of latex, or polyurethane if you or your partner is allergic to latex. Use male condoms for vaginal, anal, or oral sex.

Keep male condoms in a cool, dry place. Don't keep them in your wallet or in your car! This can cause them to break or tear.

Check the wrapper for tears and for the expiration date, to make sure the condom is not too old to use. Carefully open the wrapper. Don't use your teeth or fingernails. Make sure the condom looks okay to use. Don't use a condom that's gummy, brittle, discolored, or has even a tiny hole.
Put on the condom as soon as the penis is erect, but before it touches the vagina, mouth, or anus.

Use lubricants only made with water, such as K-Y jelly. Oil-based lubricants, such as Vaseline, can weaken the condom. The lubricant is put on the outside of the condom. It helps to keep the condom from tearing. Don't use lubricants with the spermicide N-9, which might make it easier for HIV to get into your body.

After sex, pull out the penis while it is still erect, holding the condom firmly at the base of the penis so it does not slip off.
Use a new condom if you want to have sex again or in a different way. Do not wash and re-use condoms — they are for one-time use!

female condom

The female condom, known as the FC2, is made of a rubber-like substance that is not latex. This condom is made for vaginal sex only. FC2 has a ring on each end. The inside ring holds the condom in place inside the vagina. The outer ring stays outside the vagina so it covers the labia. Some research suggests that the female condom is effective at preventing HIV. It is not yet known whether it is as effective as the male condom. The male condom is still considered best for preventing HIV. Use female condoms for vaginal sex if your partner won't use a male condom. Remember: Don't use a male condom and a female condom at the same time. They could break.

Check the wrapper for tears and to make sure the condom is not too old to use. Open the wrapper carefully. Don't use your teeth or fingernails. Make sure the condom looks OK to use. The condom will be moist and may be slippery.

Put the condom into the vagina up to eight hours before having sex, but before the penis touches the vagina. The condom cannot disappear inside your body.

To insert the FC2, squeeze the inner ring with the thumb and middle finger and insert it into the vagina like a tampon. Then, use the index finger to push the inner ring as far up as it will go, without twisting the condom. There should be about an inch of condom outside your vagina to allow for the condom to expand during sex.

FC2 comes pre-lubricated. But it is okay to use water or oil-based lubricants too. The lubricant is put on the inside and outside of the condom.

During sex, make sure the outer ring of the FC2 isn't pushed into the vagina.

After sex, hold the condom in place while your partner withdraws his penis. Remove the condom before standing up. Grasp the outside ring and twist the condom to trap in fluid and gently remove. Or, you can hold the condom tight around your partner's penis and he can pull out his penis and the condom at the same time, being careful not to spill any fluid out of the condom.
Use a new condom if you want to have sex again.

Side Effects of Refined oil in Hindi -

I have PCOS and difficulty in conceiving. Also, very difficult to loose weight and insomnia.
PCOD is a disease where there is hormonal imbalance. Depending on your complaints, examination, reports and stage of life treatment differs and it also needs more time so get yourself treated with patience. Meet Gynecologist in whom you have trust as you will need to go for long time to him/her. Pregnancy is possible only on one day of cycle, day of ovulation when ovum is released from ovary of woman. That is why couple normally should have 12 to 24 cycles of unprotected sex around time of ovulation before going to Gynecologist or infertility specialist for further evaluation and advise, but in PCOD ovulation is affected so chances of pregnancy decrease so should go to Gynecologist or infertility specialist earlier Weight reduction helps and exxercises and dieting helps for same. Easy practical scientific way of dieting is meal replacement, if want to use same may call me through lybrate.
