Dentist,
Gum diseases can be treated and reversed in their initial stages very easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.

Blood from mouth in the morning while I brushing my teeth and its happening from two weeks. Any suggestions what to do now? I don't know but its quite paining now.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser.

I did root canal(left bottom tooth next to wisdom) two years back, but now the ceramic cap came off as the tooth from inside is damaged and only half of it is left. I visited the same dentist and he told me he will remove the broken tooth and gave me two option, bridge and other to drill screw and fix it which will take around six month for the entire procedure. Please advise appx how much does it cost as the cost my dentist told me is too much. The screw option are from USA, Germany etc.

MDS - Periodontics
Dentist, Yamunanagar
Dear , As per the details provided by you your dentist has told you everything clearly and he is right. Coming to the cost factor, today almost (if not more) 100 companies are making Dental Implants (screw as you wrote) with various designs and costs. So it depends on which system your dentist is using, will determine the cost of treatment. Don't mind but it is as good as the brands like clothing, footwear, TV, PC or mobile one prefers because of his own or others experience. It also depends upon which city you live, locality etc. As I think you know the cost of business depends, on these factors. So decide earliest possible. Till then Good Luck and Good Bye.

A number of cosmetic fillers are available nowadays which give very good results. You can easily go for them. However if the gaps are too large veneers might also be used to give aesthetic results.

I very often get mouth ulcers. Which remain for like one or 2 weeks by themselves. I have tried so many things, nothing works. I showed it to many doctors, finally one doctor said it's due to anemia. Is it true?

BDS
Dentist, Pune
Ya, it's true. If I suffer from regular bouts of ulcer on your tongue or on your mouth, it can be due to deficiency of essential nutrients like iron, folic acid and vitamin b-12. This condition exists when one's body is unable to produce intrinsic factor.

I keep getting boils in my mouth. Is this due to ulcer or do I have a heat body. How can I avoid these boils.

Dentist, Patiala
Hi, lybrate-user, boils often occur when our immune system gets weakened due to unknown reasons. These are further aggravated when you are under physical or mental stress, over-pressure of work in daily routine matters, menstruation period etc. These days boils are very well treated with lasers. The lasers treat your boils giving no pain. Al, l the best.
