Hello, I am a 29 years old male suffering with knee pain (probably joint pain) (left leg) for the last couple of weeks. Unable to sleep/sit or even stand. It is also observed that both my legs didn't have any strength neither in muscles not in the bones. Didn't use any medication so far, however, tried home remedies like soaking legs in salted Luke warm water etc. Please suggest what to do. PS: I've been smoking for almost 10 years now and for the past 5 or 6 years smoking more than a pack/day.

Identify the midpoint between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief consult physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

Mam you can used heating paid some days like 5-7 days you don't wear high heel you wear comfortable seliper used heating paid & some exercises also do u, can you some rest at home you can go near a physiotherapist he/she give you heating paid+IFT+us & some exercises also you take Physio 7-10 days its very useful to you.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

  • When swabbing, hold the mop close to your body, and avoid bending at the waist. Stiffen your core and move your pelvis and ribs together. Do not rotate by twisting the spine.
  • Using props, armrests, and desks for reading can help to minimize bending while sitting.
  • Sitting in a flexed posture places increased pressure on the lumbar disc..Chiropractic Management

Balancing Loads-

  • Minimize and balance your loads. Even if you maintain an ideal posture and lift correctly, the weight you lift may contribute to the pressure within the disc and cause further herniation of a disc. If you do not need to lift during the healing period of your disc injury, do not lift.
  • How to stand up from sitting position-
  • When rising from a seated position, avoid curling your spine forward. Rising in this manner can cause continual re-injury to the discs throughout the day.
  • The preferred way to rise is to maintain a normal curve in your lower back, keep your chest out, and brace your abdominal muscles. Scoot to the edge of the chair so that your legs are under you and do most of the lifting. This one ADL (Activity of Daily Living) modification has been accountable for the reduction of symptoms in many chronic disc herniations.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello, please investigate properly and send the x-ray and other investigation report to rule out whether it is arthritis or anything else. This is may be due to overweight or deficiency of vitamin d3 and calcium or due to poor posture. Till then follow these advises - 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Avoid squatting and weight bearing activities. 4. Use western toilet. 5. Wear shock absorbing, good quality of shoes while walking. 6. Keep roll of a towel under your knees while sleeping. 7. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before getting out of your bed. 8. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. 9. Perform deep breathing exercises or yoga for proper functioning of lungs. I will explain you stiffness and pain reducing techniques in the next session. Wish you a happy and pain free life thanks.

Dear lybrate-user I think you have muscle strain and it needs detailed evaluation you can apply ice for 20 minutes every hourly for 2-3 days and avoid anything which gives pain so that it recovers well and then only you can do your athletic activities.

According your age x-ray mri must. Remedy is that avoid long sitting and toward bending lifting heavyweight. Sit straight maintain your posture do spine stretching exercise like yoga. Tk heat fermentation in pain condition and rest morning stiffness due to overstrain of muscle.

Get done mri. Picture will be cleared. If she has joint & back pain 1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar. Sitting for long hours weaken your back muscles which are no longer able to support your spine. You need to do some modifications in your work area. Take breaks, stand and do some stretches for the back muscles. Learn back strengthening exercises from a physiotherapist and do them daily. That would make your muscles strong and your spine in a better alignment. Also you can do hot water fomentation two times a day.

Go for fasting once a week. You can go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid diet to digest ama (toxin). Fasting should be followed by hot fomentation or by taking a bath with lukewarm water or steam bath. After fasting and fomentation, mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger in equal quantities and take 1 teaspoon of this powdered mix with lukewarm water twice a day. This will help you restore your digestive fire. Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

do hot fermentation and strength and stretching exercise . posture correction must tk calcium supplements. if pain is severe then do physiotherapy treatment for few days avoid medicine tk healthy diet
