Dear lybrate user, pimples/ acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which develops due to blocking of the hair follicles in skin. These blockages occur due to 4 abnormal processes: 1) excess sebum production due to androgens 2) excessive deposition of the protein keratin leading to comedone formation 3) infection of propionibacterium acnes (p. Acnes) bacteria on the hair follicles 4) local release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the skin. In order to stop the formation of pimples the aforesaid four causes should be terminated. Now the bitter truth is neither can you stop the overproduction of androgen or keratin protein nor can you stop the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals because all these processes takes place internally in your skin. However you can stop the accumulation of p. Acnes bacteria on your skin by preventing your skin from getting oily. Always keep a handkerchief with you whenever you go outside. You should wipe off the slightest amount of sweat from your face as soon as you perspire on entering your room from outside wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing face wash. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. You can also take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach also you can apply homoeopathic mother tincture berberis aquifolium q on the dark spots on your skin which are produced after the resolution of the pimples.

Hello, Common reasons for dark circle are aging, genetics, nutritional deficiency (of vitamin A, C, K, E), sleep deprivation, worm-infestation, anemia, smoking & drinking, dehydration, sun exposure, allergies, stress/ tension and hormonal changes. Dark circles are linked to anemia, and liver diseases. So, in case of dark circles which are there due to some underlying cause can be get rid rid of once the causative factor is rectified. But the dark circles which are inherited from our genes can't be removed completely, to some extent can make slightly better. Diet and Management: Always take a balanced diet rich in green leafy vegetable, dairy products and all types of fruits to keep your body healthy. It is advisable to have at least 10-12 glasses of water and include fresh fruit daily. It is also advisable to restrict the intake of caffeinated drinks such as tea, coffee, alcohol and other caffeinated drinks as it aggravates dehydration. Take enough of 6-8hrs. Of sleep. Avoid taking stress/ tension. Do daily exercising regularly as it increases oxygen carrying capacity of the cells and tissues. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines – Schwabe's Cina 1M/ one dose at night for 10 days; Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. - both twice daily for 20 days. Revert me there after.

Take cinnamon water 2-3 times in a day. Drink hamdard joshanda twice a day. These will help you with the cold. Take steam regularly. And eat healthy food like vege, daal, chapati, soup.Avoid rice.

avoid day time sleep, avoid tea coffee cola in evening and after. 8 hours sleep is ok. 10 pm to 6 am is good timing.avoid stress. take balanced diet.

What are the symptoms of dengue fever.
The principal symptoms of dengue are: -high fever and at least two of the following: -severe headache -severe eye pain (behind eyes) -joint pain -muscle and/or bone pain -rash -mild bleeding manifestation (nose or gum bleed, petechiae, or easy bruising) Watch for warning signs as temperature declines 3 to 5 days after symptoms/fever began, as this is the most dangerous period when platelet counts decline significantly. Report immediately to hospital if any of the following warning signs appear: -severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting -red spots or patches on the skin -bleeding from nose or gums -vomiting blood -black, tarry stools  -drowsiness or irritability -pale, cold, or clammy skin -difficulty breathing

For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - have small frequent meals. Do not fast for long hours. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well. It's all a matter of discipline.

I'm 43 yrs. Old male and suffering full body pain and weakness since three years like cervical spondylitis, lower back pain, tennis elbow, shoulder pain etc. I never took any painkiller or medicine for these. it is good on your part you are avoiding pain killers. continue your yoga exercises. along with that please take vitamin D+calcium tablets. take food rich in protein. get the thyroid function done.

During ramazan (fasting - no water, no food for 15hrs) how to maintain (or gain) body weight? I m already under weighted. 55kg- 5'9inch- male- 19yrs.

Weight gain is a process where in you have to ingest extra calories to gain weight, even in ramadan you can increase weight by having proper saheri & nutritious iftaar. You can have 2 chapatti + omlette with cheese for saheri, or oats porridge made in buffaloes milk, with dry fruits added & 2 boiled egg. For iftaar you can have high protein dishes like dahi vada or medu vada, or idli +sambar or french toast (bread dipped in egg n fried, chicken tikka paneer pakoda etc+1 glass fruit juice/ fruit custard+4 dates. This can be iftaar at 7, later at 10 you can have something light like daal+rice/khichadi. What I feel, my observation is people who have high calorie food like abovedont lose weight in ramadan. *oats-go for ecovalley oats as it does not contain msg /derivative of msg, so it is safe for all muslims & non muslims to eat healthy.

1.Take one tablet of crocin Advance (500 mg) as and when required upto a maximum of three tablets daily after food 2.cold sponging Sos 3.Drink plenty of water 4.Take rest 5.If no relief do blood examination like ESR, CBC, Widal/ Typhidot test, Blood for mp/malaria antigen, Dengue antigen (NS1) test, urine Re/Me, x ray chest after consulting physician and follow the advice and treatment.

Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

Hello, treatment with homoeopathic medicine may take little time to get the hair back in alopecia areata, but relapses may occur there after. There is no permanent solution ot it. Schwabe's acid fluor. 200/ twice daily for 1 month. There after, revert me back for further guidance.

Hello, wear loose cotton underclothes. Keep the private parts dry. Change underclothes regularly. It may be due to a fungal infection which thrives in hot, humid, wet environments. Apply k-z cream twice a day on itchy areas for 6 weeks. If no satisfactory improvement, please see a local dermatologist for further assessment.

Mr Kishan, Diabetes and hypothyroidism should be always in control with proper drugs. If hypothyroidism is not in check it can cause constipation. To give any kind of advise i need to know fasting and PP sugar levels, HbA1c%, TSH levels and drugs being taken. So please give those details and come in a private conversation, where I can give specific suggestions. As regards low BP please mention the BP readings.

Hi lybrate-useryou need to take your husband to a physiotherapist and ask him to teach him the following exercises which will strengthen the knee joint muscles and neutralise the load on the knee. 1. Hamstrings and quadriceps exercises. 2. Vastus medius obliqus exercises. 3. Knee rom exercises. 4. Ankle pumps. Do these exercises on a regular basis and add on weights to the ankle later and do again the exercises. Let me know how he feels then. Regards

Hair is made up of minerals, proteins and iron. Hair fall can happen due to many reasons. It can be postpartum (after 3 months of delivery). Any acute illness like viral infections, malaria, typhoid can also cause it. It can happen in long term disorders like diabetes, high bp, arthritis. Medicines taken for all these disorders can also trigger the hair fall. It is important to check the scalp and even test the hair. Proteins like sprouts, beans, nuts, soya are excellent for hair. Green leafy vegetables give iron. Drink 3 lit of water/day. Consult trichologist.
