Hi doctor, I was affected by lymphoma first stage past 5 years before. So I took chemotherapy and radiation. Now I'm perfectly cured from that. But I lose my hair. I did not have dense hair after I took chemotherapy and radiation. Is there is any possibility to get back my hair naturally or I have to move with plantation? Please suggest me. Now I'm only 25.

Since Your hair fall is due to side effects of chemotherapy, there are chances of hair regrowth. 1.Make a mixture my mixing 200gms of amla powder and 100gms of bhringraj powder , take 1 tsp of it twice daily with water empty stomach. 2.Drink plenty of water daily. 3.Take giloy tablets, 1 tablet thrice a day with water empty stomach. It will help improve your immunity. 4.Use ayurvedic shampoos tgat are chemical free. 5.Apply aloepecia cream of himalaya on your scalp .

What You Should Know About Breast Lump Detection

MD - Radio Diagnosis/Radiology, MBBS
Radiologist, Mumbai
What You Should Know About Breast Lump Detection

A breast lump is a restricted swelling, projection, lump or knot in the breast that doesn't feel like a breast tissue. There are diverse reasons why breast lumps occur.

Not all lumps are cancer. These can also be breast conditions that are not harmful and which can be easily curable.Knots that feel harder or are not the same as the rest of the breast need to be checked. This kind of irregularity might be an indication of breast cancer.

A self-examination should be your starting point. This is how you can detect a lump on your own:

Step 1: Begin by taking a look at your breast in the mirror. Keep your shoulders straight and your arms on your hips.

This is what you need to search for:

  1. Breasts that are their typical size, shape, and shading
  2. Breasts that are uniformly formed without distortion or swelling

In the event that you see any of the changes mentioned below, convey them to your doctor:

  1. Dimpling, puckering, or protruding of the skin
  2. A nipple that is not in its initial position
  3. Redness, rash or swelling

Step 2: Now, raise your arms and look for the changes mentioned above.

Step 3: While you're in front of the mirror, search for any indications of liquid or blood discharge from the nipples.

Step 4: Next, examine your breasts while resting.Use Your right hand to feel your left breast and use your left hand to feel your right breast. Cover the whole breast from your collarbone to the highest point of your mid-region, and from your armpit to your cleavage to search for any lumps.

Step 5:Examine your breasts while either standing or sitting. Many women find that the easiest approach to examine their breasts is when their skin is wet, so this step could be done while taking a bath as well.

Diagnosis:

  • Mammogram: Mammography is a technique using X-rays to diagnose and locate tumours of the breasts.
  • Breast ultrasound: Breast ultrasound utilises sound waves to create pictures of the breasts from the inside.
  • Breast MRI:This involves using an effective and attractive field, and radio frequency pulses to create photos of the insides of the breasts.
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsy: During this sort of biopsy, utilising ultrasound imaging to discover the bump, a radiologist will give you anesthesia and afterward insert a needle into the lump to evacuate some tissue for assessment under a magnifying lens. Stereotactic biopsy and an X-ray-guided biopsy may also be used.

Possible treatments:

  1. In case the knot turns out to be cancerous, surgery is typically performed.
  2. You may have a few discussions with different doctors for additional treatment, including radiation treatment and chemotherapy or hormone treatment.

Though she is also diabetic but it is under control and in normal health condition. Shall I prefer surgery or else. What are latest technology applicable in my case .Please Answer.

Treatment depends on the stage of her cancer. If early, she will benefit from surgery followed by chemotherapy. If locally advanced she may rather need chemotherapy first. Please consult for further advise.

My question is that have any doctor came across a person who masturbated more than 5 times a day for more than 5 years. And he got any type of urological or adrenal gland cancer. If there please tell me.

My question is that have any doctor came across a person who masturbated more than 5 times a day for more than 5 year...
Please note that 5 times a day for continuously 5 years is close to impossible. Secondly even if what you say is half correct then surely he is going to have ed/pe/enlarge prostate. However cancer is not possible by excessive masturbation.

They removed bile duct, gallbladder, head of pancreas as far as I know, next which treatment should be given chemo or radiotherapy & I want to know how many days he will survive plss tell me with the experience of patients. I don't want to loose my dad so soon we need him pls!

BHMS
Homeopath,
See no one can predict the time how many days he will survive. Second thing cancer is not curable disease. So only we can increase the life of patient with surgery chemo n radio with supportive care. So whatever oncologist n oncosurgeon tell you go with them have a faith in them. Chemo is used for killing the cells m radio is used for killing the metas.

Does drinking coffee causes cancer? I drink a lot of coffee and tea. I just want to know whether this causes any health problems or cancer.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
There is very less chance of 1% that coffee or tea if taken daily for a pretty long time can lead to cancer of an organ like stomach / oeshophagus.

If there is irritation over the skin for more than ten years than it can lead to cancer and for preventing it few diet tips - not to eat fried food items and can eat all green vegetables, moong, chana, dal, rice etc and to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati and to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day and if possible eat eggs on alternate days and if possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla and eat seasonal fruit.

My uncle is suffering feom liver cancer in 3 month .his weight is losing down .he does not eat anything and vomiting ...
Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Well, it seems that his liver function has deranged considerably, and hence there is fluid (ascites) deposit in the abdomen with edematous swelling of legs too. Weight loss, weakness, anorexia, ascitis, edema etc all are associated with the advanced stage of the disease. At this juncture, your uncle does require appropriate palliative care preferably in an hospital setting which can be of help in alleviating symptoms, and avoiding complications for some time. Simultaneously, you may please connect with me in private for a treatment with natural medicines that may be of help in improving his quality of life. Do take care and all the very best.

Hello my wife has pain in her breast in left side. Like muscle catch. When she lift anything from left hand she gets pain. And when she takes deep breath she gets pain. Only In left side below her Breast.

Fellow Breast Surgery (MUHS), DNB (General Surgery), MBBS
Oncologist, Aurangabad
The way you have described your wife's pain, it is unlikely, although not impossible, to be due to any disease in breast. If it would have been due to breast disease, other brest complaints like lump, heaviness, skin changes, blood or pus discharge, might have been present. But nothing can be said surely unless a doctor examines her. So it will be better to see a doctor relating to muscles and bone diseases, (orthopedician), to rule out cause of pain originating in the wall of the chest which lies below the breast. He will suggest solution as well as if a breast surgeon is to be seen or not. Hope this helps.

I'm having swelling in my left breast since 2-3 weeks plus yesterday I felt pain as well for the first time but today its fine. My periods were regular as usual and i am active in sex. Though im not in pain as such but swelling is there. Im scared to tell my parents as I live in village area n there we do not have ladies doctors. I will have to travel to a gayani in city. What shall I do. I do have kinda bump in left side.

MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Kanpur
Do one thing, examine your breast by yourself by palpating breast with flat of your fingers and pressing against chest wall all around, if you find any lump then consult a general surgeon and an ultrasound mammography and FNAC to be done.
