I am 5'3" and 116 pounds. When I eat I seem to get full very fast. It doesn't take much food to make me feel full but I still have the desire to eat. I get bloated almost every single time I eat. I eat a wide variety of foods and I try to eat healthy as much as I can. But why am I feeling so full so fast? And is there anything I can do to prevent or ease the bloatedness?

Lybrate-user, my suggestion is if you do some yogasanas pertaining to abdomen like pawan muktasana, mandukasana and abdominal exercises plus regular brisk walking for over 1 hour a day, this problem can be overcome. If need be you may take some digestive enzymes. Thanks.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. HbA1c % of 5.8 is with in normal limits. But her BMI (28.78 kgs/M2) is very high, closer to being inn grade 1 obesity. Her ideal body weight should be actually 56 kgs. Hence it is better if she works on reducing her weight by at least 5 to 8% of current weight. That will help in preventing diabetes. Thanks.

you mouth is not fresh after sometime of brushing your teeth . you may be having poor digestion/ poor oral hygiene . you need to improve your digestion . take cap becosule with folic acid . visit dental surgeon for scaling and polishing .drink plenty of water . eat more of fruits and vegetables apply boroglycerine on tongue regularly .

Dear, follow methods by which you can gain your desired height. 1. Follow these exercises regularly and you get the goal of height gain: * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. Slowly revert back the arms and move back arms in normal position. Repeat this exercise 2-4 times daily. You can privately consult me for understanding more exercises. Take 300 ml of rich cream milk, 200 gm of cheese and 2-3 eggs regularly. It will definitely give boost to your bone growth. The growth and height iscontrolled by growth hormone whichis secreted by pituitary gland situated in the brain. So take meditation and have a stressfree lifestyle. Take 6-8 hours of sleep daily. Meditation makes your pituitatry gland healthy and working properly. Take 1/2 teaspoon of ashwagandha powder with milk once a day.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

firstly, don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction (rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin c (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin e on scars. You may have heard that applying vitamin e to a scar will help it heal faster. But according to a study, applying the nutrient directly onto a scar can actually hinder its healing. In the study, vitamin e either had no effect or made matters worse for 90% of the patients, and 33% who put vitamin e on the skin developed a contact dermatitis. I am a registered dietitian and a doctor who will help you in your skin problems reply back for private consultation.

  • Soap and water. Gentle cleansing of the face with soap and water no more than twice a day can remove the excess oils and help the 'oily skin' often associated with acne. However, this does not clear up acne that is already present. Avoid aggressive scrubbing, which can injure the skin and cause other skin problems.
  • Cleansers. There are many cleansers and soaps advertised for treating acne. However, these are unnecessary if the acne is being properly treated and can, in fact, aggravate acne.

It is normal to lose about 30-80 strands of hair in a day. The common reasons behind hair fall are lack of essential nutrients in the body, improper and unhealthy dietary habits, hormonal imbalance, certain medications, dandruff, alopecia and other scalp disorders, stress and tension etc. Natural oils such as coconut, olive, jojoba, almond etc. Can be used to massage the scalp for countering hair fall. Gently massage the scalp prior to head bath twice a week. Also check hemoglobin for anaemia and thyroid status with serum tsh. Have more proteins and trace minerals like copper, zinc, selenium in diet. Start taking a hair nutrition supplement. Keep stress away with regular exercise, yoga, meditation. Understanding different types of back pain

As you probably already know through personal experience, back pain can be very complex and difficult to accurately diagnosis and treat. There are myriad causes and contributing factors, and a wide range of possible back pain treatments that may or may not work for the same condition. This blog will outline some of the basic tenets of back pain to help you on your journey to finding and participating in a treatment approach that works for you.

Back pain is a complicated, personal experience. The level, degree, and manageability of pain is very different for every person. Some people can literally have a large herniated disc and experience no pain at all, and for others, a simple muscle strain can cause excruciating back pain that can limit one's ability to walk or even stand. Also, with some conditions, the pain can flare up from time to time and then reside, but may get worse over time. Because only you know your level of pain, your treatment will most likely be more successful if you proactively participate in making decisions about your medical care.

Many structures in your back can cause pain.
While the anatomical structure of the spine is truly a marvel in terms of its form and function, many different structures in the spine are capable of producing back pain. Moreover, the spine is a part of the body that is highly prone to injury because it is subject to many strong forces-torque and twisting, sudden jolts and daily stresses (e. G. From poor posture). Common anatomical causes of back pain include:

Slip disc

The large nerve roots that go to the legs and arms may be irritated
The smaller nerves that innervate the spine may be irritated
The large paired back muscles (erector spine) may be strained
The bones, ligaments or joints themselves may be injured
The disc space itself can be a major cause of back pain
 

The source of the back pain can be complex
There is a lot of overlap of nerve supply to most of the anatomical structures in the spine (discs, muscles, ligaments, etc.) which often makes it impossible for the brain to distinguish between injury to one structure versus another. For example, a torn or herniated disc can feel identical to a bruised muscle or ligament injury. For this reason, your physician will first take a thorough medical history and physical exam, discuss your symptoms and may conduct diagnostic tests (such as an x-ray or MRI scan, if indicated) in order to try to distinguish the underlying condition causing your pain.

Description of your pain is important
The type of back pain (the way you describe the pain) and the area of distribution of the pain and related symptoms is an important part in determining a back pain diagnosis, and the treatments can be very different depending on the type of pain. Three common classifications of back pain include:

Neckpain
Axial pain
Axial pain. Also called mechanical pain, axial pain is the most common cause of back pain and may present in a number of different ways (sharp or dull, constant, comes and goes, etc.). A muscle strain is a common cause of axial pain.
Referred pain. Often characterized as dull and achy, referred pain tends to move around and vary in intensity. It may radiate from the lower back into the groin, pelvis, buttock and upper thigh. Injury to any of the interconnecting sensory nerves of the lower back can cause this type of pain. As an example, degenerative disc disease may cause referred pain to the hips and posterior thighs.

Radicular pain. Often described as deep and radiating through the extremity (arm or leg), radicular pain can be accompanied by numbness and tingling or weakness. This type of pain is caused by compression, inflammation and/or injury to a spinal nerve root. Another term for radicular pain is sciatica and can be caused by such conditions as a herniated disc or spinal stenosis.

If no anatomical reason is found, your pain is still real
Frequently, even after many tests and visits to different doctors, there may be no apparent anatomical cause for back pain. However, the pain is still real. While psychological factors, such as depression and sleeplessness, will often need to be included as part of a comprehensive treatment program, it is also important to treat the pain, and there are a variety of nonsurgical care options that can help alleviate the pain.

Additionally, you should always make sure to see a qualified spine specialist for persistent back pain symptoms to check for serious medical conditions that could be causing the pain (such as tumor or infection).

Ultimately, participating in the decision-making process about your medical care should definitely help you have a better outcome, and understanding your pain is an important element of this process.

I have been wearing my temporary retainers since 2 months. Because of frequent removal of it, I have got angular cheilitis problem which is in the initial stage. Kindly suggest some ointment for the same.

There are many over the counter medicines for angular cheilitis. You can get triamcinolone acetonide or Kenacort topical gel 0.1%, apply 2-3 times over the affected area, it will take 4- 5 days to heal as the area affected is a movable part so repairing is slow compared to other body parts. Try to clean the area with medicated soap 2-3 times daily till problem is resolved.

What Causes Obesity?

Obesity doesn't happen overnight. It develops gradually over time, as a result of poor diet and lifestyle choices.

Obesity occurs when a person has too much fat stored in his/her body. This extra weight can come from body water, fat, bone and muscle. Obesity usually occurs when you consume more calories than you can burn. It is caused due to a variety of factors such as being physically inactive, eating foods containing a high fat content, overeating and genetic makeup. Obesity can have a lot of complications such as cancer, arthritis, stroke, heart diseases and diabetes.

How do people become obese?

  • Consuming too much calories: nowadays people are consuming more food than they did in the previous generations. Consuming too much unhealthy calories can make people obese which may lead to a lot of complications in the future.
  • Leading a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle: with the growth of technology, people have become more inactive and are leading a more sedentary lifestyle as compared to their past generations. With the advent of shopping malls and grocery outlets people don’t have to walk miles for food. This also leads to an inactive lifestyle which later results in obesity.
  • Not getting enough sleep: according to studies, sleep deprivation may also lead to obesity. This happens due to an increased appetite because of hormonal changes. Sleep deprivation leads your body to produce less amounts of a hormone (leptin) which increases appetite.
  • Medications: certain medications can also lead to rapid weight gain. In such cases, alternate therapy should be opted especially for those people who are predisposed to obesity and weight gain.
  • Obesity gene: according to statistics people who have the gene variant in their bloodstream tend to eat more than usual. They also prefer fatty and high energy foods.
  • It is very difficult for obese people to reduce their weight. By changing in lifestyle like diet, physical activity level, water intake and sleeping pattern, if changed under supervision of specialist with dedication, discipline and faith in their ayurvedic and panchkarma specialist, can give wonderful results for lifetime.
