Hi . Tremor problem is very common after stopping alcohol intake suddenly or after excessive intake of alcohol. If that is the case then see a physician. If alcohol is not the cause then other causes are thyroid problems and anxiety. You must then get t3, t4, tsh tests done.

Migraine is a relapsing headache disorder. It causes episodic one sided headache associated with nausea and/ vomiting, relieved by medicines and rest and aggravated by factors like impaired sleep, stress, allergies, loud noise, sun exposure etc. In addition to taking medicines for acute headache attacks you also have to take treatment foe prevention of further episodes. This can be decided according to the type, duration, severity of headaches, medicines taken so far and associated symptoms like stress, anxiety, depression, sleep problems etc.

If You give through a description of the condition, the type of pain and the timing and pattern of attacks and food habits. It can be helpful for us to give appropriate medication. Here by I am advicing few General medication which helps to relieve headache. Medication:-According to ayurveda based on individuals prakruti i, e body constitution, age, diet and life styles. In classics different modalities of treatment has been mentioned like shodhana (Panchakarma-detoxification procedure of the body), Shamana (internal medicine). Ayurvedic therapies (panchakarma) for migraine: 1.Shirolepa – Application of herbal pastes which pacify Pitta Dosha like Sandalwood, camphor, Jatamansi. 2.Shiro Dhara – pouring of thin stream of liquid over scalp. 3.Shiro basti-Retaining the medicated oils over the leather cap fitted over the scalp. Any vata-pitta pacifying oils are beneficial for this purpose. 4.Sneha nasya – Instillation of medicated oils can be carried to the nostrils. Shamana (Internal medication):- 1.Pathyadi khada-10 ml with warm water twice a day after food. 2.Tab Niargim-1 tab twice a day after food. 3.Tab Kamaduga with mouktik-1 tab twice a day before food. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There could be many reasons for this, actually this sensation is what we call as paraesthesia and signifies nerve irritation/compression somewhere along the course right from lower back to compartments around ankle. My advise will be for 2-3 weeks try with physical therapy (tens as a modality), you can initiate with small dose of gabapentin or pregabalin and vitamin b 12 and see whether there is any improvement in symptoms in 10-15 days time or not? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Numbness sitting cross legged is common because in that position your nerve gets compressed that is why you feel numb. So you actually require no treatment for this. If you are having numbness while normal activities like sitting, walking etc, the it becomes significant and we will have to evaluate you for that. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr. Akshay kumar saxena Consultant orthopaedics fortis hospital, new delhi.

Parkinsons disease is a neuro degenerative disease. Unfortunately there is no permanent treatment for this condition. For initial symptom relief doctors give anticholinergics, antihistaminics, but latter dopamine agonists or dopamine precursures (levodopa) is needed. I your case, it appears to be an early onset and already advanced case of parkinsonism which is associates with high grade dementia, rigidity, tremour, inability to walk. In this condition levodopa+carbidopa/benserazide-. 4-. 8g/day or ropinirole or pramiprexole might be needed. Along with that, regular physiotherapy will help a bit. Proper nurshing care may be needed. Thank you. Take care.

Fits can be due to many resons. Most common in this kind of case senarios are. Low sodium or glucose, rarely it can be another episod of stroke. Fits can also occur because the'dried' or dead cerebral tissue acts as irritative focus. But this cause is common in early days post stroke.

Hello Dr. My hand is shivering and fingers are like a deadly feeling when I was bike driving. What is my hand problem.

Ask Free Question
Dear lybrate user, your hands have a web of nerves that help control movement and provide sensation. When a nerve becomes pinched, you may feel numbness. Bike riding puts pressure on the wrists and palms of your hands. This stress can interfere with the way nerves work. Considerations: *see your doctor rule out the cause of the tingling and numbness. * stay off the bike until your doctor rules out a medical problem.
