Hi back pain usually occurs due to prolonged sitting in a bad posture hence the pressure on the back increases and you get back pain as your muscle don't support any undue pressure so for this now you can start with a hot packs for ten minutes twice a day and also start strengthening your core muscles.

Severe pain on right hand between shoulder and elbow which triggers more at night . Doctor diagnosed it as frozen shoulder suggested physiotherapy excersise and ultra sound etc Following suggestion since last one month . Not much improvement . Can it be pain due to some other reason ? Pllease comment.

Frozen shoulder takes long time in most cases to recover. There are specific exercises and modalities which help you relieve pain and increase rom gradually.

Hello lybrate-user. At 56 years you should rule osteoarthritis of knees. He needs an Xray of knees to ascertain that, apart from physical examination. Do quadriceps exercises and consult a Rheumatologist.

Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. 1-1 tab yograj guggul after lunch and dinner. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Take green vegetables. Drink juice. Eat fruits. Drink 7-8 glass of water in a day. Take 7 hours sleep minimum. Do pranayama early morning. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Hi, I go through a lot of upper back pain. I used to walk like I had hunch. I have been gyming and fixed my shoulders alot but still mu upper back pains alot when I am in the same straight posture for long. I feel relaxed after bending it back.

I suggest you follow the below for your condition: take mag phos 6x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately.

Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and manual therapy will help in pain free movement. Anyways in your case we will have to get a few blood tests done to rule out any inflammatory pathology or any deficiencies. Kindly get a few blood tests done empty stomach and send reports across to me: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d and thyroid profile. Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

As is true of any pathology, remedy lies in actually knowing what is causing it? also there are many causes of numbness in feet, from issues related to lower back and nerve compression to systemic diseases like diabetes, numbness can be present. If you can write in detail about your mother's symptoms, duration, associated symptoms, what medicines does she take now and in past? what investigations have been done for this problem and what is the treatment she has received thus far, then I can evaluate and we can try and reach to a diagnosis. Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

Hello lybrate-user, disc herniation at l4 l5 s1 disc herniation may lead to nerve root compression, pain in that sided thigh and tingling numbness depending upon the involvement. You will need to get yourself examined clinically in order to rule out neurodeficit and assess your straight leg raising test (doctors way to quantify the seriousness of the disorder) exercises avoid high impact activities like running, jogging, jumping sports and bending forwards. Kindly follow a stable exercise routine like brisk walking in order to maintain fitness and keep the symptoms in check. Thank you.
