Mr Vicky, Non- medicinal approch is not effective everytime. Salt restriction(less than 6 gm per day), Daily walking, Weight reduction are some method to controll your BP.If not working,start treatment. Not taking treatment may land you up in truobles

Last two weeks I was on trip and drunk alcohol on regular basis but when I came back then gone through lft and lipid test and then my sgot and sgpt level higher than of normal range and its 85 and 90. And cholesterol level 190. What should I need to do.

Eat green veg. More fiber foods. Avoid fatty foods,junk foos,oily meal, drink plenty of water.take digestive meal . Syp. Aristozyme 10 ml thrice a day. Take tab. Charcol at night. Syp . Livoluk 10 ml at night. tests for constipation.. stool c/s, Examination of the rectum and lower, or sigmoid, colon (sigmoidoscopy) Examination of the rectum and entire colon (colonoscopy). An X-ray of the rectum during defecation (defecography). Avoid smoking/alcohol if you take.

Total cholesterol LDL (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "bad" cholesterol) HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) Triglycerides (fats carried in the blood from the food we eat. Excess calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are converted into triglycerides and stored in fat cells throughout the body LDL cholesterol can build up on the walls of your arteries and increase your chances of getting heart disease. That is why LDL cholesterol is referred to as "bad" cholesterol. The lower your LDL cholesterol number, the lower your risk. If your LDL is 190 or more, it is considered very high. Your doctor will most likely recommend medicines in addition to making healthy lifestyle choices. After figuring your 10-year risk, your doctor will recommend a percentage by which you should try to lower your LDL level through diet, exercise, and medication if necessary. HDL Cholesterol When it comes to HDL cholesterol -- "good" cholesterol – a higher number means lower risk. This is because HDL cholesterol protects against heart disease by taking the "bad" cholesterol out of your blood and keeping it from building up in your arteries. A statin can slightly increase your HDL, as can exercise.

Dear, To maintain BP normal and to get relief from low BP problem follow these methods and instructions: • Anaemia is a cause of low BP so check your hemoglobin level (Hb) if this is low so eat green leafy vegetables, beetroot and fruits like pomegranate. • Eat an apple daily it maintain your BP normal. • Take your meal daily do not skip meal. • Drink 8 - 9 glass of water daily. Hydrate your body well with drinking proper amount of water because dehydration is also cause fall of BP. • When you feel that your BP is low then take 2 teaspoons of Glucon D and add a pinch of salt mix it in one glass of water and drink it. You can repeat it after 2 hours. This will maintain electrolyte balance and your BP. You can drink a cup of tea. • Drink a glass of milk daily. It maintain your stamina. • Take a multivitamin capsule daily for 15 days. • Eat a teaspoon of gulkand daily and maintain your blood sugar level. • Do long breathing pranayams daily and do not take stress.

Dear Cholesterol is made in liver as per needs. Food does not alter this. Avoid medicines to control cholesterol. They have bad side effects with little result. Light daily exercises, green smoothie will help you. You can use curcumin and desi ghee to balance lipid profile. Vm.

Dear lybrateuser, -first try to stop smoking completely since one or two cigarettes occasionally can lead you to more numbers slowly -slowly -for your problems take a healthy diet & do regular exercises --eat vegetables, fruits, whole grain foods like oats, dalia, dairy products like milk, eggs, paneer, nuts, non-veg like fish, chicken, have yoghurt daily -start doing exercises to increase your strength & stamina, do brisk walking, jogging, swimming, yoga, after sometime your problems will go away.

You can definitely take badam, walnuts and figs (anjeer) but in moderate quantity. Like 5 - 8 badams, about 25 g of walnuts and 2- 3 pieces of dry anjeer. But what is most important is to have a very good control of sugar levels. If you inform me the fasting, pp sugar levels, hba1c and weight, height and level of exercise daily plus medication being taken I can guide better.

Dear Lybrateuser, -Your pain chest is due to acidity -avoid spicy, fried & junk food, also restrict tea/coffee intake to 1-2 cups a day -do not skip meals, have meals on time, have 4-5 small meals including snacks instead of three large meals ,have more of fruits & vegetables including green leafy ones, chew your food well, have dinner 2-3 hrs before going to bed, do not lye down immediately after meals -take Syrup Gelusil, 2 teaspoonful half an after each meal -have 8-10 glasses of water for proper digestion -do regular exercises & yoga for 10-15 min per day -if not much relief then consult a doctor.

To control & maintain Blood pressure to normal these are best methods to follow:.• Do physical exercise like jogging, running or brisk walk for atleast 20-30 minutes. • Maintain your cholesterol level to normal & eat least amount of butter, cream or fatty things. • Eat less amount of pickle, salt and fast food as they contain high sodium levels. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of caffine containing coffee, tea or cold drinks because caffine causes increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams (Anulom- Vilom, Bhramari) daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. • Take 5 ml of GULAB Jal added in a glass of water daily once a day.

Reduce salt, if swelling is obvious and doctor is sure that it is not due to liver/ kidney or any other reason, and swelling is only due to heart failure, person should be examined about degree of failure and treated accordingly.

GO FOR TESTS CBC, CHEST X-RAY. URINE R/M, URINE C/S, LFT,BLOOD SUGAR. AFTER TESTS YOU CONSULT DOCTOR. TILL THEN YOU CAN TAKE TAB. PANTOPRAZOLE-40 MG ONCE A DAY. TAB. DOLO -650 SOS. SYP. HONEYTUS .

Angiogram positive does not indicate anything. Angiogram is a real time X ray of the heart blood vessels and assuming he is above 60 years of age, blockages are a natural process.
