Present (sept 2019) hba1c-(hpcl-ngsp certified) is 7.1% and last year is 6.7% (sept 2018). My fasting blood glucose is 120 and postprandial blood glucose is 86 (god-pod erba em200 fully auto analyser). I am 58 years, bmi is 26.6, cardiac patient under medication (from last 3 years) atorvastatin 20 mg+clopidogrel 75 mg*1 time, carvedilol 10 mg*2 times, ramipril 2.5 mg*1 time sir. Till now, I didn't used any "diabetes tablets" and don’t have any diabetes symptoms sir. My question is >>>post prandial blood glucose is less than fasting blood glucose and am I “diabetes” sir.

Normal fasting sugar levels must be less than 120 and pp less than 160. Target hba1c should be less than 6.5. Do not reduce the dose.

I am taking metformin 500 morning and night. Glucose level is stabilised after two months. But feeling hungry from 10 am to 6 pm. Hba1c is 7.2.fbs 130 and bps 230. Unable to reduce fbs below 130. Feeling hungry below this level body tired. Whether I can reduce morning dose to 250 mg metformin. Geriatric specialist says 130 is normal. Kindly advice.

Your sugars are too high, if you are open to change in medicines, kindly consult online. I prefer 30/70 insulin or short acting insulin with lantus. Along with tablets. I will provide you diet advise as well as treatment for complete sugar control.

I have type 2 dialogues. I am talking humlog 50 twice I have type 2 diabetes for last 13 years. I am talking lantus insulin 10 units per day + janumet 50/1000 twice daily. Mu sugar level is 210 casting and 290 pp. Should I add an short/intermediate acting insulin. Please suggest a better treatment plan.

Whether you should continue metformin or not, depends on your fasting and pp sugar levels. Kindly get your sugar tested and share reports. If reports are normal, you might have to continue, as they are normal cause you are taking metformin. Howeve...

I have a family history of diabetes, in my mother, aunt and grandmother. At present I am taking metformin 250 bd. Can I stop metformin?
Also, I am having severe hair fall, is it due to metformin?
