I am 18 years old, my legs pain a lot below my knees, I have no injury in the past, no hurts in the knee. It pains in the region below my knees and nowadays I have continuous paining. Kindly tell me what could be the reason and provide some remedies.

Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

I am 27 years old girl and I am facing so much pain in bottom portion of shoulders (shoulders blade) since four yr. Earlier the pain was very minor but now it became chronic and causing very pain. The pain is like pinning needle and sometimes its like current and in its peak stage goes towards neck also. It interferes in my daily routine works such writing work, sitting and standing for long time, tilting neck backward and downward, holding bags or some packets in hands. Please give me your valuable suggestions to cure this problem.

Pain in the shoulder blades can be caused by bad posture, shoulder overuse, injuries, pinched spinal nerves, lung diseases and disorders of other chest and abdominal organs. The very first thing to do if you develop pain under shoulder blade is to pay attention to how you use your arms and shoulders on a regular basis. Try to stop doing anything that will apply pressure to your shoulders so you can rest it instead. Try to also rest the shoulder regularly, by supporting your back or lying flat. If the pain is from poor posture try to do Shoulder blade retraction exercises to strengthen your upper back muscles. In cases of inflammation from overstretched soft tissues, like muscles, applying ice can help provide relief. Wrap the ice in cloth so it doesn’t directly touch the skin and apply it for fifteen minutes three times a day to reduce pain and inflammation. Applying a heating pad to the shoulder can also help. It will improve blood circulation to relieve pain and speed up recovery. You can only select the right treatment option for pain under shoulder blade after diagnosing the cause. At her age, these kind of problems are common, so better you get a proper examination of her knee done by an orthopaedician and physiotherapist and then continue the treatment prescribed. As far as medicines is concerned, you can try ayurveda, homeopathy or allopathy whatever you feel feasible.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There definitely could be degenerative changes setting in your joints at this age. Answers to knee osteoarthritis depends actually upon a lot of things but please tell me duration of pain and what are aggravating factors? how much distance can you walk and what is the analgesic requirement to carry out activities of daily routine? what medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. I also need to see your latest knee x rays so that I know what grade of arthritis are we dealing with on your case? normally without seeing anything I can still say that at your age you should take adequate amounts of calcium and vitamin d, do regular exercises for knee, back etc because these are the areas which undergo degeneration with age. Diet has got nothing to do with knee arthritis, but still take adequate calcium rich diet to keep bones healthy and strong do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Possible cause-age is less so factors may be 1 prolong sitting (bad posture) with wallet. 2. Difference in height of both legs. 3. Sciatica. Treatment- back strengthening exercises, knee slides and quadriceps, avoid wallet, take minimum 15 days physiotherapy sessions for better result.

I am a 40 year male and I am suffering from body ace and weakness for past 10 days. I consulted doctor who has prescribed some medicines and some tests like Vidal, Malarial Parasite, Hemogram and Urine test. If reports r ok need not worry. Take more fluids - water, milk, tea soups, narial pani, nibu pani have fruits and vegetables and milk you will feel better for medicine contact on private chat good luck.

I cannot sleep at night. My legs get really restless when I try to sleep. please help.?

Kindly show me digital x rays of ls spine. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days bio d3 max 1tab od x10 do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I had fever 4 days back. Had been to a General Physician and they suggested some medicines. I have severe knee joint pain and ankle joint pain from 4 days. I shared the same to the GP and she told it is viral fever. The fever came down after a day itself. However the joint pain is still there. I am a breast feeding mother. Lybrate-user ji you are right you have chicken guniya. But do not worry you wil be alright in 2 months. But after you become alright you wil have to reduce your weight. Acording to your height your weight should be less than 67 kg. So reduce it by minimum 11 kg. For that you can join a gym.

Use of stimulant decreases the symptoms to a much good effect and if we don't give stimulant medication there will be more of conduct disorder and progress in disease and for side effects we have to monitor the person and advice them accordingly and spine block injection is effective for six months and hashimoto's thyroiditis is an auto immune disease where we can control it with medication but not cure it completely.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
