I HAVE DEVELOPED SEVERE PAIN IN MY BOTH KNEES,from last Oct 2014 onwards,In touch with HOD of St Stephan hospital Delhi -110006 & HOD of Indian spinal Injury hospitals Vasant Vihar New Delhi , as I got operated by both Drs. for Spinal problem at L4- L5 , for Nerve Decompression on 3rd Jan 2013 & 26th Aug 2013 again at ISI .Had enough medicines prescribed by Drs.Was undergoing already Physio Threrepy by qulalified Dr regaularly thrice a week since June 2014, Adv. Nephrosyn 500 mg twice daily ,without any releif.Dr says Inflamtion of Left Knee, however practically left crippled now - cannot stand for 3-5 minutes, even difficulty in lying on bed , evn slightest movement / change in posture while sitting or lying on bed results into crying as pain becomes unbearable . Even last evening Dr asked to take additionally ULTRACET ,tab twice,till physically examination on Wednesday Now , over & above ths Knee pain , it also severly results in pain in LHS leg ,lower half- below & above knee, near ankle areas, upper back of thigh ,the thin line of thigh adj leg, also pains .Local application of pain killers like Volini ointment / spray - even patches with Hifenec - medicine , gave no relief. I suspect this pain , other then knees to be outcome of Decompression of nerve / side effect / damage ,that took place to me in Sep/ Oct 2012 & was operated in Jan & Aug 2013 . This Pain also appears to be resulting into / causing NUMBNESS , in these areas , Latest Knee X-ray says Normal wear & tear apperanig / taking place. No Panic button pressed by Drs after seeing X-ray s/ clinically - both ways Kindly suggest , some medicine / Exercise / procedure , for relief , if possible pl

This could be due to lumbar spondylosis with nerve root compression. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos you will need other supportive medicines also. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated.

Consult a physiotherapist for your back problem, meanwhile avoid lifting heavy weights, bending forward, riding two wheeler or any such activities which increases your pain.

First of all, make sure that your mom gets time for some relaxation for 15 mins. In those 15 mins, let her lie on the bed with no noise around and make her close her eyes. Then you apply some almond oil softly with the tip of your fingers around both her eyes for 10 mins and on her feet for 5 mins. Make the room cooler with air conditioning or high speed fan! spread some fragrance by a good quality room freshener and tell your mom to sleep with her hands open facing the ceiling. After 15 mins she will feel rejuvenated with much less pain! she can then take hot tea with ginger and restart her work. The most important thing. Do not give or let others give her any stress or tension which can scare her and eventually that will reflect in her bodily pains and the cycle will go on! so, now you take care of your mom like a mom daily for 15 mins and see the difference.

Hello, kindly follow advises given below 1. Avoid using computers continuously, take rest for 5 min after working for half an hour 2. In pain free interval do neck exercise (kindly learn exercise by registered trainer) 3. You can use thin pillow while sleeping so that normal posture of neck can be maintained 4. Maintain proper posture of body while watching tv/ studying kindly go for cervical x ray ap and lateral and review with reports consult orthopeditian for further management.

Knee. Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold). Shoulder. Advice. Regular stretching of shoulder muscles. Warm up and cool down is a must. Hot fomentation.

Figs are mainly made of polyunsaturated fats, which add healthy calories to your diet. Also, figs contain a good amount of carbohydrates that will help you gain weight. Soak five to six dried figs in water overnight. The next day, eat them in two parts during the day. Do this daily for about a month. Alternatively, soak two dried figs overnight in milk and eat it before breakfast. Follow this routine for two months.

Hello lybrate-user, welcome to Lybrate. Well it is neccessary to take rest and keep moving between your work. Take atleast 5 minutes and stretch your upper and lower back. Go for a walk. I think you must be getting lunch and tea break in which you can find yourself comfortable to relax. Medicines are for quick and temporary relief. You can take but follow exercises for long term benefits.

First of all you should take rest for 1-2 days so that your body can fight with underlying infection with its full immunity and start the below medication:- take gelesemium 200, twice daily. Take eupatrium perf 200, 5 drops thrice daily. Take antifebrinum 3x, 2 tabs, thrice daily. Take alfavena malt, 1 tsf, thrice daily. Drink lots of water and take light homemade food like dalia and khichdi, avoid oily, spicy, fried, junk and cold drinks. In case of high uncontrollable fever, don't panic you should do cold sponging to lower down the temperature. If fever does not goes then go for a set of blood tests. Revert me with feedback. This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try. And to reduce the weight falling on the inflammed surface we suggest patients to use air cushion pillow (also called as doughnut pillow) where in the buttock's weight will not fall exactly on the painful tail bone and that would automatically reduce the pain.

First of all pl stop all parlour treatments. Start taking light food and clean gut by herbals for three days, then once a week. Eat salt restricted diet. Start smearing raw cold milk on face with cotton balls and massage in circular motions. Let dry and wash with cold water. Do twice. If you get time pl wash with pure rose water in between once. After one or two weeks, get next tip which will be according to response you get. It's slow but effective and safe and economic. Definitely working.

What exactly is a spine block injection? Will it work long-term for low back pain due to disc problems?
Nerves are blocked and sense is not felt by blocking the sense transmission, hence pain is not felt. Though it may be helpful in relieving pain but there are unsafe effects too which your surgeon will tell you better. Pain management with herbals is slower but much safer. But it can't be suggested until full case is not know.

The condition is called plantar fascitis, contrast bath that is cold pack followed by hot pack will help you and once you get up in the morning walk first 5 to 10 steps on your toes and then keep your heel. You can also consult a physiotherapist.

Dear lybrate-user, get a mri done to pin point the cause and site of pain. Meanwhile go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakarma procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. Please update with your valuable feedback after 15 days.\
