Hi, Please follow these tips: Don't get too worried and anxious. Relax well. Avoid drinking coffee or tea after 7 PM, Take hot water bath before going to bed. Have light food and drink a glass of warm milk at night. Listen to soothing music or read some magazines while you are on bed. Keep your mobile in silent mode at night. Do not work on your laptop on the bed or watch TV till late night. Sleep in a dark and silent room. Perform meditation and yoga to keep your mind calm.

This is not related to heart. It may be localised pain due to some boil or related local lesion if it pains on touch. Surgeon would more appropriate doctor for you, in this case.

Mr. Lybrate-user, as you have stated these are called" lifestyle" diseases, meaning if we adapt a more positive and healthy lifestyle, these can be prevented. A healthy lifestyle means: exercising regularly, (everyday of the week, at least 1 hour), maintaining near normal weight, maintaining a bmi of 23 kgs/m2, refraining from alcohol, smoking, high fat foods, bakery items, pastries, aerated sweetened drinks, red meat, egg yolk etc. Also controlling excess salt intake. This kind of lifestyle is helpful in keeping those conditions mentioned by you.

It can greatly affect your life. Treatment can work well in many cases. 1.For your age pain chest could be due to anxiety, stress, Physical and mental strain,hyper acidity, muscular problem 2. Avoid stress and strain 3.Do regular exercise, reduce your weight if over weight. 4.Control your diet. Avoid oily/spicy/fried and junk food,high calorie and cholesterol rich diet.Take small frequent meals(5-6 meals/day instead of three heavy meals).If you have hyper acidity take one tablet of pan 40 in the morning before breakfast daily for few days 5.Do Yoga, Meditation, deep breathing exercise like pranayama etc. It will calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress. 6.Have sound sleep for 7-8 hours daily. 7.Avoid smoking,alcohol, excess tea/coffee, if you are having 8. Drink plenty of water and take rest 9. Take paracetamol 500mg one tablet sos after food up to a maximum of three tablets per day at the time of chest pain 10.if you have recurrent attack of chest pain check your BP, take ECG and consult cardiologist 11.Consult me for further advice

Hi, as you have kidney infection, I hope that you are already in touch with a nephrologist and that your kidney health is being monitored by him/ her regularly. First and foremost, the kidney infection has to be arrested before any further complications arise. Your high bp is most probably because of the underlying issue with your kidneys and/ or can be attributed to dietary/ lifestyle issues including stress at work/ home. Telma 20, as I understand, helps control blood pressure. However, it would not cure the underlying cause by itself. While you continue being on telma 20 mg medication as already advised by your doc, simultaneously, you will have to check your dietary habits, especially cut down on salt, pickles, tea, coffee, sweets including sweetened carbonated drinks & artificially sweetened juices, oily, spicy, greasy and fatty foods. Ensure that you have a balanced diet along with fresh fruits/ vegetables like watermelon, apple, cranberries, oranges, ripe papaya, cucumber, leafy greens etc which are especially beneficial for people with high bp and also they ameliorate kidney infection. Bananas and jack fruit are best avoided. Raw cheese, yogurt and fresh buttermilk (with no added salt or spices) also help promote kidney health and fight infections. Walnut and fishes provide omega-3s that help reduce inflammation too. Similarly, garlic & amla too help reduce bp. Ensure to streamline your lifestyle as well, with adequate room for exercise, relaxation and de-stressing. Yoga, pranayam & meditation too help relax deeply and de-stress. Ensure that you get at least 8 hours of restful sleep daily. See how you can streamline your occupational aspect as well to reduce stress at work. Hope this helps.

Recently I was diagnosed with BP @ 140/94. My family doctor advised only diet and rigorous exercise and weight loss and even after one month it persists at this then I may go for medication. As it is due to multifactorial reasons, better to wait for sometime. My BP readings during the past 15 days are- 140/94,128/95,128/87,136/84,135/85 checked alternate days. Advice me plz.

I am 23 year old male. My blood pressure stays at (130-135/80-85) normally. Whenever I eat burgers or fast food, or something oily or even a slight over eat of home food, I sweat a lot. I also get a little pain under my armpit and left side of my heart, which sometimes radiates to my arms. This pain improves by time as I settle down. Also I often suffer from claustrophobia while travelling in metros or lifts. Also 6 months prior I got my cholesterol check up with LDL= 152.1 and TSH=5.9. I am 85 kgs and a student with no exercise on my hands. Is my problem by anyhow related to heart or is it just anxiety? Please suggest remedies, as I am a little worried now. This thing has taken a toll on me from the past 6-7 months.

Your bp is on higher side, on borderline 135/85,(it is safe to have 120/80) your bad cholesterol is high at 152 (ldl should be lower than 80) your thyroid is working low tsh is high on borderline at 5.9.& you are overweight 85 kgs, a 23 years old student who got tested but got no benefits of awareness generated in schools about harms of junk food which is bad for health, so is oily food. Do you smoke also? everything can be controlled through diet and lifestyle modifications minus medicines. 1) stay away from pollution. 2) reduce salt & sugar to bare minimum, no need to eat a bland diet but avoid added salts on salads, packed foods where salt is used as a preservative. 3) take more potassium like oranges, lemons, amlas etc. Drink a glass of warm water with a spoon of honey added to it plus juice of a lemon, empty stomach, every morning. It does bring down bad cholesterol & sugar, besides helping to lose weight. 4) reduce weight minus diet charts or any specific exercise in gymn (the choice is yours) eat lots of seasonal vegetables & fruits as snacks, as food to counter hunger pangs but do eat a full meal of daal, chawal, roti once a day, preferably at end of day. 5) do not reduce proteins like dilutes toned milk, curd, chhach or boiled eggs if you eat. These are filling plus nourishing. 6) take a katori of assorted nuts everyday to get good cholesterol & to get proteins & good fats which help bring down bad fats. 7) walking is a simple exercise which is meditating also. 8) target to lose weight should be @ 5 kg only 9) by reducing weight by diet & exercise bp comes down, low thyroid start functioning normally & general health improves. 10) even students can find time to exercise if they want to, drastic dieting or gymnasium may not suit everyone but you have to make alternate arrangements within your resources. 11) get tested for total lipids, thyroid profile, bp & weight after a month & share with us. 12) you can get basic heart tests done also like, blood sugar, ecg, halter. 13) no smoking or exposure to pollution as low levels of oxygen in air does trigger heart attacks / stroke.

Hypertension is a lifestyle disease which can be reversed completely by diet and lifestyle changes hrs cut down salt. Go on a plant based diet do not drink milk and dairy products sleep well for at least 8 hours reduce stress at work and home by doing meditation and yoga exercise daily If you want specific advise take a consult.

To control or maintan BP normal there are some instructions are given below: •Do not take salt in high amount or try to avoid it because high sodium level increase BP. • Eat less amount of pickle and fast food, fast food contain high sodium. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of coffee and tea both increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily. • Do exercise and long walk daily. • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Avoid taking too much fat foods such as butter, cheese, ghee. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. Eat an apple daily.

avoid stress, go for walk daily. take green veg., digestive food, multivitamin,mineral foods,mineral water,fruits juice,take protein diet,amino acid foods. you can go for tests vit.B12, vit.D. mineral , amino acid.cbc. What you are detailing here is known as postural hypotension - or spontaneous fall in BP with acquisition of upright posture. This condition requires elaborate evaluation and us due to many reasons. You also need to know that some medicines cause postural hypotension and in case you are taking any such medicines- those need to be discontinued.

Get a 24 hr Holter test done. If it is normal, you can get a ECG when you experience the irregular heartbeat if that is also normal, then stop worrying.
