PCOS is a syndrome disease defined by a collection of signs and symptoms. The symptoms of PCOS that one patient experiences can be very different from the symptoms of another patient. If you have two or more of the following symptoms, you need to have a thorough checkup to determine if you need PCOS treatment: Irregular or missing menstrual periods, Infertility,Excess or unwanted body or facial hair growth, Thinning hair on the scalp, Weight problems, often including weight gain around the waist, Skin problems, including skin tags, darkening skin and acne Complications of PCOS The common PCOS symptoms are difficult enough for most women, but some will experience further complications, including: Diabetes, elevated insulin levels or insulin resistance, Heart and blood vessel problems, Uterine cancer, Sleep apnea Each of these problems can be life threatening, which is why treatment for PCOS is so important. Lifestyle and Prevention One of the best treatments for PCOS is a healthy lifestyle. A healthy diet low in refined carbohydrates is important, as this can help regulate blood sugar levels. Exercise can also help the body regulate insulin and keep excess weight off. Losing weight is challenging with PCOS, but doing so can help reduce the male hormone levels in the body, and some women will begin to ovulate naturally. With a proper diagnosis, lifestyle changes and PCOS treatment, women can get relief from this condition and the overwhelming health problems it can cause. Homoeopathy offers permanent solution for this syndrome, the medicine is selected based on symptom totality and individualisation, some of the medicines for PCOD are Graphites, Lachesis, Calcarea carb, Lycopodium, Nux Vomica, Sepia,Ignatia, Staphysagria.

Dear Lybrate user, your father might be suffering with osteoporosis which is common after 50+yrs. please understand causes of back pain very first, and avoid if any reasons you find out. Lower back pain can be caused by a variety of problems with any parts of the complex, interconnected network of spinal muscles, nerves, bones, discs or tendons in the lumbar spine. Typical sources of low back pain include: The large nerve roots in the low back that go to the legs may be irritated The smaller nerves that supply the low back may be irritated The large paired lower back muscles (erector spinae) may be strained The bones, ligaments or joints may be damaged An intervertebral disc may be degenerating While back pain is extremely common, the symptoms and severity of back pain vary greatly. A simple lower back muscle strain might be excruciating enough to necessitate an emergency room visit, while a degenerating disc might cause only mild, intermittent discomfort. Identifying the symptoms and getting a diagnosis that pinpoints the underlying cause of the pain is the first step in obtaining effective pain relief. Treatment for lower back pain depends upon the patient's history and the type and severity of pain. The vast majority of lower back pain cases get better within four to six weeks, and lower back pain exercises are almost always part of a treatment plan. Back pain and knee pain will get relieved, please take these medications as primary treatment plan, & have a thorough consultation with us as early as possible. Yograj guggulu 500 mg twice day Lakshadi gugulu 500 mg twice day Vishtinduk vati 500 mg twice day. Hope this answers your query, feel free to consult privately for further information and treatment guidelines. Thank you.

Hi,I'm addicted to internet. Due to this I'm facing serious problems. I'm unable to focus on studies. How to overcome from this problem?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
You need to identify what it is in the internet that you are addicted to: facebook, twitter, emails etc. These are all social sites and the most likely reason you feel addicted to them is that they provide a platform of interacting, without facing them, and getting much desired attention. This is usually an indication of the need for attention, which you may not be receiving adequately from your family and immediate circles. In other words, if you get good attention with some excitement, you will be able to give up this addiction rather, easily. Then, there is the problem of obsession and compulsion to want to do the net, leaving you little choice but to continue the behavior. You could also be covering up another deep need in you that is being met by being occupied and distracted into something else. Sometimes, it is related to a deep-rooted pain that needs some therapeutic attention. It will be good for you to attend some counseling in this regard. If you stayed away from the internet for 21 days, you can, to some extent, overcome the tendency. Then, you need to spend another 7 weeks reinforcing this new behavior. Most addicts are very intelligent people and it is sometimes their frustration that they are not getting what they deserve and are capable of, that leads to a lot of disenchantment in life: the addiction somehow gives them some outlet for that frustration. The addictive behavior has an element of being destructive too and so you need to address that drive in you to choose life instead of death! this is well dealt with in the script issue, then, there is the rigid value system, and some contribution from some genetic influences that may seem unrelated but will have an influence. These can be addressed through counseling, and must be kept up for nearly three years to completely resolve it. You need to find alternative interesting activities and create a new set of friends and social circles. Get into a tight time-schedule and fill it will mind and body occupying activities. Exercise must be an integral part of your daily life too. Sleep well and eat healthily too. Look at your career and see if changes need to be made in that area of your life. New study courses and skills set can be acquired to make some important successes in your professional life: most people from good families, successful careers, and good jobs have a faster and better recovery from addictions!

Hi. I'm Akash. I'm 24 year old. I have lower back pain since 2years. What should I do. Pls help.
Most common cause of low back pain in younger generation is mechanical backache. Which arises due to ill posture, improper lifestyle combined with no workout or exercises. Few patients suffer from pathological backache. Which has causes other than mechanical. First step is to rule out any pathology and then move to improve lifestyle follow ergonomic lifestyle in office and home. Can be easily searched on internet. I am losing hair quickly and have tried all shampoo but no effect. Please help me.
Hello Lybrate user- Hairfall is due to excess of shampoo use. Imbalance in ratio between shampoo and oiling results in loss of hairs so try to oil your scalp with some ayurvedic oils like Nili bhringadi hair oil or Maha bhringraj hair oil, and try to shampoo as less as you can (not more than once in a weeks’ time).
