Quitting profession is not possible for all. You can take few sips of warm water in between, do not modify your voice much, speak less with sufficient intervals of voice rest in between. Steam inhalation after reaching home. Avoid chalk dust to peevent allergy. Do not consume chilled drinks on dry painful throat tat is due to voice abuse or overuse. Strict diet habbits too maintain your vocal hygiene.

Hello welcome here. I understand your concerns for your friend. Yes its possible to make chain smoker a nonsmoker. But the most important thing in this case is your friend's motivation to quit smoking. If the motivation is high, he can be helped to quit smoking. The withdrawal symptoms are managed by drugs like bupropion (prescription drug). Also, nicotine replacement therapies are available. These include chewing gums and patches. The patch is easy to use. It is just to be applied over a non-hairy area on body and helps in decreasing craving. If you have more queries concern me privately

Dear Atul, If you are sure that you are hearing noises which others cannot hear, you may be suffering from hallucinations. Paranoid schizophrenia, paranoia, delusional disorders are related to this. Do consult a psychologist regarding your problem and proceed as advised. Take care.

For fever, take- 1. Tab. Crocin 500mg 8 to 12 hourly S.O.S. 2. Lots of fluids. For depression- 1. Learn Rajyoga meditation from one of the nearby Brahmakumaris centre (brahmakumaris.org) It is free of charge and rwally helps.

Psychiatric illnesses occur due to bio-psycho-social reasons. Biological is your brain neurons and functioning, psychological are the factors during your developmental stage and sociological are the external environment/ people/ job/ stress u r exposed to. So it is multifactorial for various disorders, each contributing in varying proportion. For OCD, there is altered serotonergic ( a neurotransmitter) transmission in certain brain areas as the main reason.

My age is 23 yrs. Preparing for govt. Exams for last 2 years ,my exams are in next few weeks and this is going to be my last attempt as I already wasted two precious years of my life. Still I don't feel like studying I am tensed and stressed I know if I fail this time also my life is going to be miserable .all people around me of my age group have a job but still I am not working hard to get a job for myself. I think l lost interest in these exams. I am not a hard working person .I don't feel like doing anything just sitting thinking negative ,getting frustrated and stressing unnecessary instead of studying. I think this year also I am not going to be selected. I am getting frustrated as I know I am not working hard so I won't be able to clear this time also. Nobody in my family can understand what I am feeling and going through. I have a lot of personality issues timid ,introvert ,negative thinking ,rigid ,poor communications skills (I cannot even talk to sales or customer care people ,imagine my level )and many more bad qualities. Also have no friends for like so many years .These two years also enhanced my personality problems as I mostly stayed indoors appearance wise also gained a lot of weight. Also when I think of other alternatives (if not selected) I feel I won't be able to sustain as I am low confident and not able to make friends .i hv a negative outlook of life and I feel everything in future is going to be negative. Not moving forward in life no growth just stagnant like a tree all the people / friends I use to know are doing wonderful things in their lives and growing each day and I'm still the same as I used to be. Right now I'm feeling depressed and hopeless. What should I do now?

Life is full of ups and down my friend. It has not happend to you only. It happens to many people but in a different ways. You just like others have many other options. Just relax and do not burden yourself. Every sucessfull person had worst times in his/her career or life. ITs part of life, take it as an experience. It is not the hard work which you can see and get results, it is also the consistency and sincerity which pays, may be a bit later, but it pays. Its your life, do not compare yourself with others. Your have different opportunities and problems than others. So what ever you are doing, if you think its not good, then simply stop doing that. It is as simple as that. Do not worry, you are just a kid. You have alot to learn. Stay positive. Stay in touch. Opt what you like. Do not be in a herd. Good luck.

Please do not fight your symptoms, the more you fight to get rid of them, the more the conflict. Your condition is a result of faulty thinking over the years. Expectations, fear of outcome etc etc just be brave enough for any kind of outcome and trust destiny, your shoulders will get lighter.

I'm suffering from some psychological problems. I'm always having negative thoughts and sometimes I just want to leave everyone and commit suicide. I'm 19 years old female and I can't even study and I don't want to go to the college I just want to be alone every time. I lost my dad in my childhood and now I'm in a relationship from 3 years. But I'm not happy with it but I don't want to leave him I'm getting very serious for even small things. My over thinking was killing me I'm very depressed but I can't consult the doctor so please suggest me what I have to do. Due to this mental illness I'm also getting weak day by day. I don't even want to talk with friends or family members.

I don't understand why you can't consult a doctor. Sometimes this condition can be quite serious and a doctor's intervention is necessary. I think when you have suicidal ideation, a doctor's visit does become mandatory and is serious enough. Even if you don't want to meet with a doctor, at least visit with a counselor. Counselors are really good friends and you will enjoy the experience. At your age this claim is serious. If you have depression then there are some major ramifications to take into account. I believe there may be some genetic predisposition or there has been some childhood issue, related to anger, that needs urgent attention. You must go and meet with a counselor immediately and if that person advises that you meet with a doctor you must do so and cooperate to your utmost. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Better concentration and focus makes your daily life easier and productive. I have put down some pointers below that will help improve your concentration and memory. Get good nights rest 7-8 hours. Eat rights. Try and organise your day, this will help reduce anxiety and stress level during work. Don't try to do multitasking. Try to do most daunting task first thing in the morning. Don't try and look for perfection in everything you attempt. Take breaks from work or study at regular intervals this will help you unwind and concentrate better. Don't judge your work in comparison of others. Yoga, specially pranayaam will help. Attempt sudoko and crossword to improve your memory. Replace negative thoughts with productive thoughts. There is always room for improvement, channelise your energy to use your weakness as your strength. Jot down your thoughts to refer as a ready reckoner anything you do can we done better with a calm mind, have faith in yourself. Good luck & take care.

Good Morning ~ All those vitamins have been tried in psychotic depression, however very few have worked in isolation and none in the kind of depression you describe. It is always good to get opinion that is very impartial and if you believe that you will find help here, you have. Anything that is not responsible, respectful or functional is really unhealthy for you. You need to be careful because porn may provide great sexual entertainment but it also stokes the desire, which will then lead to desire-fulfillment and that will lead to impulses. It actually objectifies women and sex to levels that make you lose respect for them. Besides, the whole thing is dramatized to such crazy levels of performance (that is why it sells too) that you are made to feel grossly inadequate. It is really far from the reality, and these are exceptional actors, with some exceptional endowments and actions that you may even look at your own spouse (later when you get married, that is) with disdain or inadequacies that are most unfair. After you have been stimulated you are left hungry in your groin to want to fulfill your desires, and if not met soon, leaves you with that raging libido, and it can goad you to do something inappropriate. In essence, it spoils a very beautiful thing and reduces it to mere physical impulses. After some time you get disgusted when you have had too much of it; whereas natural sex will never cause that effect at all. If you have so much of sexual energy you can channelize it into activities, sports, games, and hobbies. You need to distract yourself when the drive is very strong in you, which may be so if your levels of testosterone are very high too. You need to socialize with members of the opposite sex and enjoy their company to experience the different aspects of a woman and to also feel the different aspects of sex and not get frozen in the carnal part of it alone. Sex has five different dimensions to it: there is the physical aspect, the emotional aspect, the intellectual aspect, the social aspect and finally, there is the spiritual aspect. The latter may surprise you but this is where respect and regard for women and their bodies will come up to help treat them with value. If you cultivate these dimensions of sex I am sure you will perceive women differently and with a lot of respect. Eventually, when you are into a serious relationship with a woman, you will truly enjoy the whole concept of romance and being and falling in love with the real thing: that my friend will be a different ball-game. Do not play with a poor replica of sex, and shy away from the real person and thing, which are so wholesome.
