Dyspepsia: Symptoms And Causes

Dyspepsia is a disorder of the stomach that is characterized by pain in the upper part of the stomach. It is not a single disorder, but is a collection of symptoms such as nausea, burping and bloating. It results when the acid of the stomach comes in contact with the mucosa of the digestive tract. These acids cause a breakdown of the mucosa leading to inflammation and irritation, which leads to indigestion. It may also result from eating disorders or certain medications.

Symptoms:
The symptoms of this disorder tend to occur mostly after consuming food and drink. In some cases, the symptoms tend to go away after eating or drinking. The symptoms of dyspepsia are: 

  1. You may feel bloated on a regular basis
  2. You may experience discomfort in your stomach
  3. Loss of appetite
  4. You may experience constant burping
  5. You may feel nauseous
  6. Symptoms of heartburn
  7. You may also experience chest pain and breathing difficulties
  8. You may be affected by jaundice

Causes:
The various causes of dyspepsia are: 

  1. Irritable bowel syndrome, which hampers the movement of food through the intestines
  2. If you are unable to properly digest dairy products
  3. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) that results in reflux of the acids of the stomach
  4. Any inflammation of the gall bladder
  5. Various medicines such as aspirin, steroids and antibiotics may lead to dyspepsia
  6. If you suffer from depression or anxiety then it may lead to dyspepsia
  7. Excess consumption of chocolate, coffee and alcohol

Dyspepsia may be controlled by modifying your lifestyle. Some of the changes that you may make are

  1. Don't sleep immediately after eating, wait for at least two hours before you go to bed
  2. Avoid spicy foods as they tend to aggravate symptoms of dyspepsia
  3. Space out your meals, eat multiple smaller meals instead of few large ones
  4. Restrict smoking and alcohol consumption
  5. Lose weight as being overweight may lead to dyspepsia
  6. Avoid wearing tight clothes 
  7. Exercise on a regular basis to keep your body healthy and maintain optimal weight levels

Dear doc, My mamma recently been diagnosed with glaucoma. Doc prescribed 2 eye drops. Combigan and azopt. This is the second month. She feeling bitter taste in throat. And her gums got so loose resulting in tooth fall with no gum disease. Are teeth falling as the side effect of eye drops? Kindly guide us. Dear lybrate-user Glaucoma medications needs to taken life long usually with regular follow up with your eye specialist. I can only give you virtual consultation on the basis of scenario you have described. Tooth problem has nothing to do with Anti glaucoma eye drops and bitter taste in throat is normal as it shows tear ducts are patent. Thyroid and diabetes needs to controlled by medications prescribed by Physician.

While your hair mostly depends on your genetics; stress, hormonal imbalance and poor diet have a great influence on your hair growth. Start by following a good diet - Eat adequate amount of protein. Your hair is made up mainly of proteins. Include skimmed milk, cottage cheese, lentils in diet. Vitamin C, Zinc and Vitamin B are other important nutrients for great hair health. So include lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your daily diet. Next important step is to follow good hair care - Oiling your hair with a mixture of oils like olive, sesame, coconut and castor oil keeps provides moisture to your hair and prevent them from drying and breakage. Once in a week apply a good hair mask. You can mix and prepare different types of masks using green tea, olive oil, milk, gooseberry, etc. You can also start with zinc and biotin supplements. Amla juice will also help to control hair loss.

Homoeopathic cream ANTIWRINKLE CREAM ( BAKSON) Apply in circular fashion twice a day 1. Avoid the sun and/or use a good sunscreen. Sun damage is well-known to wreak havoc upon the best of skin. All sun worshippers that do not take heed pay the price with lax, leathery skin before their time ~ not to mention the risk of many dangerous skin cancers. The sun screen should be o Broad-spectrum protection (protects against UVA and UVB rays). o Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 30 or greater. o Water resistance o Preferably Homoeopathic SUNCARE SUNSCREEN ( BAKSON). 2. Drink plenty of water. Water is what nourishes our cells…it is present in EVERY cell in our bodies. But, many people do not drink enough of this elixir! And, without proper hydration, skin will appear dull and listless ~ lacking the elasticity that gives us our youthful appearance. What is the proper amount of water to drink per day? This is a controversial subject, but I recommend 9 cups for women and 12.5 cups for men. 3. Fish oil capsules taken on a daily basis can do much for skin elasticity. But, be sure to follow the dosage directions on the label (and consult a physician before taking anything) since the wrong dose may be harmful or dangerous in bleeding disorders (or other medical conditions). 9. Also, it’s important to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables for good skin elasticity. And, of these ~ the best ones to eat are as follows: • Red Peppers • Oranges • Grapefruits • Strawberries • Broccoli • Carrots • Mango • Apricots • Sweet Potato • Avocados

I feel so weak in every work in doing work in field, coping and watering the plants wht I do to becom healthy and fit?

Sir its been 2 years and now you can start with exercise otherwise weight will keep on increasing we provide 1 week diet that will help to reduce weight approx. 3-5 kg in a week. You can incorporate that in daily routine for maintaining weight. You can follow some tips in daily routine. 1. After every meal, drink 1 cup boiling water with spoon sip by sip. After half an hour you have taken meal do this daily. 2. Try to avoid eating heavy food after 7 pm. As it takes time to digest heavy food. 3. Drink 1 glass water half an hour before meal. 4. Drink 2 glasses of lukewarm warm daily in morning. 5. Try to do some exercise. Yoga and meditation are very good in losing weight and maintaining it also. Yoga asanas you can do - manduk asana - sarwang asana - setubal asana - pawan mukht asana -nauka asana pranayama -anulom vilom -deep breathing - kapal bhati other exercises -crunches -cycling -leg rotation.

Stop taking gutka like things because it causes lots of dental problem. Like yellowish teeth, plaque deposition, gum disease, loosening of teeth and even oral cancer. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water. But you should consult a dentist immediately for x-ray to rule out the exact cause of pain.
