Vitamin d deficiency is common and is often underestimated as a cause of chronic leg pain. Please check your vit d and calcium level first. Other causes of leg pain results from wear and tear, overuse, or injuries in joints or bones or in muscles, ligaments, tendons or other soft tissues. Leg pain can also be caused by blood clots, varicose veins or poor circulation. To relieve mild pain: stay off your leg as much as possible apply an ice pack or bag of frozen peas to the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day elevate your leg whenever you sit or lie down please go to a physiotherapist if: you have pain during or after walking you have swelling in both legs your pain gets worse your symptoms don't improve after a few days of home treatment you have painful varicose veins if you feel the pain is from muscle cramp then you need to drink a lot of water because poor fluid intake (dehydration) may predispose to cramps also low blood levels of either calcium or magnesium directly cause cramps. My right leg pains a lot, starting from my right bum down to my thighs and sometimes till my ankle. Is it sciatica?

Sciatica is pain affecting the back, hip, and outer side of the leg, caused by compression of a spinal nerve root in the lower back, often owing to degeneration of an intervertebral disc. Ayurvedic medicines are very effective in case of sciatica. Apply prasarini oil with light hand on affected part and give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 spoon two times a day. Pranacharya sciatica capsule 1-1 after lunch and dinner. Maha yograj guggul -1 after lunch and dinner. Avoid tea. Coffee. Fermented food. Junk food. Spicy food. Cigarettes. Alcohol. Take milk. Fruits. Green vegetables. Do pranayama early in the morning. Walk for 30 minutes a day. Do sciatica exercise stretching. And leg exercises.

Dear lybrate user, I think, along with medicines, you will need to go for therapy/counselling. Counselling will help you to control your panic attacks. About the social anxiety, you need systematic behaviour therapy. You can get rid of your anxiety and panic attacks with the help of therapy. Please contact a counsellor for this. But do not stop medication on your own. Your counsellor and your psychiatrrist will advice you do that, when you will start feeling better. Take care.

1) I have a flat foot. I can't stand for much longer. Please suggest what to do to overcome this problem. 2) 2 years ago I had an injury in my ankle. Maybe a hairline fracture. But it got cured. But nowadays I feel little pain in the same area in the morning.

Dear Lybrate User, 1) Wear an arch or insole for flat foot. 2) Get Calcium, Vitamin D tested and try physiotherapy (esp ultrasonic therapy) Physiotherapy might help in both the conditions or issues. Focus more on strengthening and stretching exercises of foot and ankle. Hope this will help!

Tips to cure knee joint pain.. 1.Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. 2. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling 3.Peel two cloves of garlic and crush it. Add this to a glass of milk. Boil it on a mild flame till one-fourth glass remains. Filter and make two equal parts. Drink one part in the morning and the other in the evening. 4.Warm mustard oil or sesame oil (1 teaspoon) with 3-4 cloves of crushed garlic and 1 tsp of ajwain (carom) seeds until it roasts to a reddish brown colour. Ensure that it does not get burned. Massage this oil on your affected areas. After that do hot fomentation with salt potli (bag). 5. Take 1 tsf castor oil with milk at night once a week.

Hi I am (38 years) from kolkata. I am having specificity problems in both legs and now progressed to both hands a bit. I shown ninhans(bangalore) than they diagonised a progressive spastic parapledia. Many doctors I have shown and most of doctors telling its heriditary spastic paraplegia as I got spasticity from 19 years onwards. Before that age I didnt had spasticity. Please tell what to do or if its really hsp or any other disease?

Backpain for just 3 days is most likely due to muscle spasm. You should take rest like just going to washroom for 3 days. Take analgesic like dolonex dt twice a day for 5 days. Tab baclofen 10 mg twice a day for 10 days. Have physio session for 10 days for 10 days after pain subsides.

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

घुटना/ कमर दर्द उपचार। 1.पानी हमेशा बैठकर पीये। 2.रोज महानारायण तेल सभी जोड़ो पर लगाओ। 3.महायोगराज गुग्गुल-2 गोली खाने के पहले खाना। 4.चुना-5 ग्राम (1 लिटिर पानी में मिला लो, 2-2 चम्मच दिन में 3 बार ये चुने वाला पानी पीना,और सुबह धुप में 30 मिनट बैठो। 5.मेथीदाना 1/2 चम्मच रात में भिगोकर सुबह खाली पेट खाना।

* sitting puts nearly twice the stress on the spine. Slouching while you sit increases the pressure even more. * slouching fatigues and overstretches the ligaments, causing back pain. * there's no vascular or nerve supply to the discs; they get their nutrition through movement. Reasons for your back pain: 1> tight leg muscles 2> weak back musculature 3> incorrect sitting posture treatment: 1> stretching - stretching of thigh muscles will help a lot. Consult a physiotherapist to teach you 2> strengthening - start exercises like swimming which helps to make your back muscles strong 3> change your position - try and put your wallet/ phone in the front pocket. Sitting upright as well as slouching is the worst posture while sitting. Support your back with a pillow/cushion while sitting.

Hello, i can suggest you a proper medication for this pain . Take Arnica 200, 5 drops once daily. Rhus tox 200 5 drops once daily. Five phos 6x, 6 tabs once daily. Take rest for 7 days then revert me.
