Both weakness and tired are symptoms, not diseases. Because these symptoms can be caused by many other health problems, the importance of weakness and tired can be determined only when other symptoms are evaluated. There are many health problems that causes muscle weakness and pain. You need to see a doctor to find out what causing you this weakness and pain. Best wishes.

I am 32 year old male suffering from back pain and hair fall. please help me

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
I am 32 year old male suffering from back pain and hair fall. please help me
Is your hair loss accompanied with greying of hair and have they become very thin? your hair needs a very high protein well-rounded diet. Hair and nails are the last organs to get nutrition in the body, hence only if all the organs get sufficient nutrition and proteins, only then the remaining nutrition would be used for hair. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress, current/past dandruff and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rainwater and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. That are proven to help in hair growth and repair.

Make sure that the backpack you invest in has a padded back, padded, contoured, shoulder and chest straps, a waist belt, compression straps and reflective materials as these will reduce the pressure on the back, distribute the load to the pelvis and prevent the contents of the bag from digging into the back.

As per your history it seems you would have had a minor injury as far as the bony component is concerned. But falling from bike and persistent pain since Oct 2013 ie more than a year is not Ok. There are structures in the knee joint like the miniscus which would have got torn and is the cause of persistent pain. Consult Orthopaedic doctor

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Although there can be many causes for heel pain like spurs, fascial inflammation, infection, trauma etc but normally plantar fascitis is the most common cause especially if there is no history of any injury or any s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness etc. This kind of pain is usually due to inflammation of your heel fascia. It is chronic pain which get aggravated especially when you walk more and is better with rest. Treatment modalities are aimed at relieving inflammation of the fascia, like ice packs, physical therapy, footwear modification and anti-inflammatory therapy. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Hi I can understand your problem. 1) apply hot and cold fomentation. 2) learn strengthening exercise of quadriceps and hamstring from physiotherapist. 3) do regular stretching calf muscles. 4) wear comfortable foot wear. Do share investigation reports if you have.

Last 2 days, I have back pain whenever I walk. Can you suggest what should be done?

MPTh/MPT, BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Guwahati
Last 2 days, I have back pain whenever I walk. Can you suggest what should be done?
See, most probably you had a muscle pull or its a mechanical back pain which has occurred due to you working or doing something in awkward position. Take rest for couple of days, don't stress much, don't lift anything heavy, don't walk much for few days if that's causing you pain, apply heat on the painful area by using hot water bag or electrical heating belt, for 15-20 mins, if required apply volini spray or ointment.
