Here are some diet tips 1. Eat high fibre food avoids eating food in simple sugar form 2. Eat fresh fruits instead of fruit juices. Fruits are good source of fibre except banana mango, chiku. 3. Try to avoid deep fried food and oil containing food. Control your fat consumption in your routine diet 4. Avoid bakery products, sweets. 5. Have plenty of water at least 3 lt/day 6. At least half hour walk/day.

I am 66. For the last 6 years, I have noticed the following disorders which are gradually worsening- eds - I have noticed lack of touch sense in penis from 2006 and suddenly, in 2009, eds set in. No erection. Incontinence - started in 2007 and I panicked, got some homeo treatment which didn' t give any relief. Now I am able to identify the onset and rush to nearest bathroom or disaster. Knee pain - since 2011, it started innocuously, but it' s now acute and I need to hold on to something before standing up, flex calf muscles for 10 secs before I can start walking, as the knees are wobbly. Tingling in feet up to waist - this is the 0ne I am worried about most. It was mild at first, in 2010. From 2013, it is constant, I sense 40% distinct decreased touch sensation. I have no sense of urine passing through penis. I have to feel with my finger similar to taking a pulse. Pain from knee down to ankle, heaviness in feet - I can' t walk for 100 yards without my feet getting so heavy that I become immobile. There is constant pain in the shins. My blood sugar test, doppler test of blood vessels in shins, urine test normal. Prostate ultra sound gives slight enlargement for last 10 years. It is not changing. Psa negative. Please advise. Thanx.

It seems from your history that you have significant compression in lower spine region and I must say that you have neglected your treatment to a great extent because if there is peri-anal or saddle numbness, difficulty in passing urine, numbness in legs, you must get yourself evaluated and rule out cauda equina syndrome. I advise you to get in touch of a spine surgeon immediately, get required tests done like mri and x rays of spine, nerve conduction studies of lower limbs and get adequate treatment. The symptoms you are describing seems to indicate deficiency of Thyroid / Iron / Calcium / Vit D. It is better you get a Complete Blood Test - CBC along with complete body check up package test done. These tests should include Calcium./ Vit D tests done. This will give some indication about the cause of your problems. Then the problem can be resolved.

If you want to get rid off this problem naturally, I suggest him to do regular exercises, yoga, pranayamas, regularly.& tell him to quit those smoking alcohol consumption, though less frequently it is. Taking more water, daily minimum 3-4 litres irrespective of his thirst, consuming more raw vegetables,[whatever he can eat. Like carrots, beet roots, lady's fingers, keera etc], fresh all seasonal fruits, sprouts will help keeping general health, take daily 1 glass of lemon juice mixed with honey. 1-2 times/ day. Don't take pickles, spicy, junk, oily, fast food, which will take up to risk of increasing the bad cholesterol levels. Taking 1 litre of water in morning with empty stomach will help maximum to keep all vital organs function well.

1. Take some leaves of neem and puthina and make a paste by grinding with some turmeric- haldi. 2. Take some neem leaves and boil in 1litre of water. 3. Wash and clean your face using soap and luke warm water. 4. Completely remove soap particles from your face through thorough washing with water. 5. Apply the above said paste on your face completely. 6. After 30 min. Wash your face with above said luke warm neem water. 7. Wipe and dry your face with a clean cotton towel. 8. You have to do this daily once. 9. Keep your face clean always and wash your face 4/5 times daily.

How do you suppose to sit?

  • Keep your feet on the floor or on a footrest, if they don't reach the floor.

  • Don't cross your legs. Your ankles should be in front of your knees.

  • Keep a small gap between the back of your knees and the front of your seat.

  • Your knees should be at or below the level of your hips.

  • Adjust the backrest of your chair to support your low- and mid-back or use a back support.

  • Relax your shoulders and keep your forearms parallel to the ground.

  • Avoid sitting in the same position for long periods of time.


 

How you should stand properly?

  • Bear your weight primarily on the balls of your feet.

  • Keep your knees slightly bent.

  • Keep your feet about shoulder-width apart.

  • Let your arms hang naturally down the sides of the body.

  • Stand straight and tall with your shoulders pulled backward.

  • Tuck your stomach in.

  • Keep your head level-your earlobes should be in line with your shoulders. Do not push your head forward, backward, or to the side.

  • Shift your weight from your toes to your heels, or one foot to the other, if you have to stand for a long time.

     

What is the proper lying position?

  1. Find the mattress that is right for you. While a firm mattress is generally recommended, some people find that softer mattresses reduce their back pain. Your comfort is important.

  2. Sleep with a pillow. Special pillows are available to help with postural problems resulting from a poor sleeping position.

  3. Avoid sleeping on your stomach.

  4. Sleeping on your side or back is more often helpful for back pain. If you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your legs. If you sleep on your back, keep a pillow under your knees.

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
