For cavity problem you have to get it filled before it turn into big whole. For bad breath, you have to maintain your oral hygiene along with your digestion system. For oral health you have to go for cleaning of your teeth. Brush twice daily and drink lot of water.

Both RCT and extraction can be done without pain. But as a dentist I suggest you to undergo RCT to preserve the tooth rather than extracting the same. Extraction option will always be there.

I am lichen planus and oral lichen planus patients from last 2 years. I got many doctors treatment but not feel well....
1)Replacement of amalgam restorations 2)Withdrawal of the drug 3)Oral lichen lesions in chronic in graft versus host disease are usually managed with local corticosteroids or other drugs such as tacrolimus. 4)As in OLP the question arises whether one or all types of oral lichenoid lesions are to be considered a potentially malignant disorder In the absence of known etiological factors, the taking of a biopsy should be considered, particularly in case of a non-reticular lesion, in order to exclude the possibility of epithelial dysplasia or even carcinoma in situ or invasive squamous cell carcinoma. The term “lichenoid dysplasia” is confusing and, therefore, should be avoided.

What is the reason for gum swelling and what is the treatment. How can I maintain healthy gum.
Hello Mr. Lybrate-user reasons for gum swelling can be many ranging from poor maintainence of oral hygiene, systemic diseases such as diabetes, consumption of specific medications, pregnancy, habits such as smoking, mouth breathing etc. Maintainence of oral hygiene by proper brushing and flossing regularly would solve most of the problems related to gum swelling and if it still persists it would be apt to visit a dentist and get a thorough cleaning done.

The type of treatment you have for toothache /sensitivity/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

I have bleeding in my gums while I brush daily. And sometimes I have pain too. What to do for that?
We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.
