Depression, stress and anxiety has a direct affect on sexual arousal and performance. A psychiatrist can suggest you the medication for dealing with depression. Besides medication, thought management is an important aspect which is very useful to manage and cope with depression. When your depression reduces and the stress levels come down, you will see an up in your sexual arousal too. Some key guidelines: do exercise, as it releases the same chemicals like dopamine and serotonin which a psychiatrist will give you for depression. Exercising is a natural way to keep depression at bay. 2. Eat healthy: stay away from junk, sweets, maida, fried foods. Eat whole grains, complex carbs, food supplying fatty acids, greens and fruits. 3. Sleep well for 7-8 hours everyday: this detoxifies and rejuvenates the mind and body naturally and reduces stress, tension and worry. 4. Stop thinking too much and worrying: there are something's that are within your control to change and improve. There are some things that you cannot change because they are outside your control for eg weather. Learn to differentiate these things and focus your attention on what you can change positively. Also, treat life with less seriousness. Add humour to your life. Meet people who are friendly, lighthearted, problem solvers and progressive thinkers. Indulging in a hobby or two once or twice a week, takes away the pain and suffering of everyday living, if you don't like what you do and whom you interact with. 5. Attitude of gratitude: each day count your blessings and see how fortunate you are and what you have in life, rather than what you don't have in your life. This will help you to feel happier, content and satisfied with what is working in life and take your mind away from what is not working in your life. Your sleep disturbance needs to be evaluated, you need to be taught sleep hygiene, if no results you may need not sleeping pills, but some pills which promote sleep naturally increasing sleep neurotransmitters, like melatonin. One needs to sleep between 6 and 10 hours average is 8 hours, surely you are way down, get checked

Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food.

Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. Memory and mind power depends mainly on three aspects. Understanding, storage and recollection. To understand what you are studying, you must be able to be attentive or concentrate. Concentration is possible when you are interested in that subject. Creative way of learning can help you concentrate and understand easily. When you are able to understand and concentrate, it is stored within your brain. If you read more and more it will be store in long term memory. Third part is retrieval. Whenever you want to retrive what you learned and stored, your brain gets the request, searches the database and retrieves the information for you. The retrieval may prove to be difficult if you are anxious, stressed, worried or tired physically or mentally. Retrieval is more easy when you are relaxed and healthy. Brain needs nutrients to keep itself sharp. Fruits, vegetables and dry fruits provide much needed nutrients for your brain. Include at least one fruit in your daily diet. Physical exercises, entertainment, hobbies, relaxation, memory games like sudoku etc help keep your memory sharp and active. Take care.

1. Stay away from negativity and bring on the positivity This is the time to really evaluate your inner circle, including friends and family. This is a tough one, but it's time to seriously consider getting away from those individuals who put you down and shred your confidence. Even a temporary break from Debbie Downer can make a huge difference and help you make strides toward more self-confidence. Be positive, even if you're not feeling it quite yet. Put some positive enthusiasm into your interactions with others and hit the ground running, excited to begin your next project. Stop focusing on the problems in your life and instead begin to focus on solutions and making positive changes. 2. Change your body language and image This is where posture, smiling, eye contact, and speech slowly come into play. Just the simple act of pulling your shoulders back gives others the impression that you are a confident person. Smiling will not only make you feel better, but will make others feel more comfortable around you. Imagine a person with good posture and a smile and you'll be envisioning someone who is self-confident. Look at the person you are speaking to, not at your shoes--keeping eye contact shows confidence. Last, speak slowly. Research has proved that those who take the time to speak slowly and clearly feel more self-confidence and appear more self-confident to others. The added bonus is they will actually be able to understand what you are saying. Go the extra mile and style your hair, give yourself a clean shave, and dress nicely. Not only will this make you feel better about yourself, but others are more likely to perceive you as successful and self-confident as well. A great tip: When you purchase a new outfit, practice wearing it at home first to get past any wardrobe malfunctions before heading out. 3. Don't accept failure and get rid of the negative voices in your head Never give up. Never accept failure. There is a solution to everything, so why would you want to throw in the towel? Make this your new mantra. Succeeding through great adversity is a huge confidence booster.

Initially when you start exercises opt for basic warm up exercises, then do not do rigrous exercise. Start with 5 to 10 mins. Then slowly increase the time.

I'm 27 year Man. My weight is 97 kg. M over weight at this stage. Im in ta initial stage of high BP and diabetes. I skip my lunch, does every workout, jogging, walking every possible way I could do, 2 reduce my weight but nothing workout instead I gain more n more weight even after all my effort. Have you done hormonal tests, including thyroid function tests. Skipping lunch is a bad ides, you need to have small spaced low calorie meals. Eating 6 times a day 1/4th tummy will also help in weight loss. Also there are genetic factors, is there obesity in your family? if so, despite all these measures, sometimes it can not be helped.

I'm a 19 years old medical student. . I met a guy in my college who was senior to me by 2 yrs. We became best friends. We enjoyed many moments together. He used to give me a lot of importance. We even became physically intimate for 4-5 times. It was okay for me as I thought he loves me , as I love him. Last week when I proposed him, he clearly rejected my proposal saying there is someone else in his life. From that day, he cut all the connection with me. Later he said he doesn't want to keep any connection with me. I'm in deep love with him .I didn't want to lose him ever. As I have already lost him, I can't accept this. Like this same problem one girl medico student comes to me. She is final year in medicine. In study time it happens. Love and sex is common in medical colleges. Take it easy. He wants to you for the purpose of sex. He enjoyed sex later leaved. Then you also take this like that. Do not think this matter again. Exams are crucial. Better to concentrate on studies. My patient recovered very soon and now she concentrated on studies like that you also recover very soon. Next time be careful about boys. Do not give any chance of sex. Make a very good friendly relations and do not go to sex. Ok what is happened is over. Now exams better to concentrate. If possible please share your personal feelings with your close friends. Hello, I can not learn answers. I forget very early. And study at night. I woke early in morning and start memorizing answer. But as the day pass at night I forget all answers. Please help me as my exams are near.
