I am alcoholic and im planning to stop it. I used to drink whisky 2-3 times in a week upto 180 ml. Now that im planning to stop it completely will there be any problem if I stop it suddenly. Kindly advise.

Alcohol dependence involves intense craving or desire to drink alcohol. People drink for pleasure or rationalize it on external factors like family problems, work tension, etc. They drink continuously, i.e. Almost daily or even weekly once or twice with withdrawal symptoms, tolerance, bodily damage, etc. They need to be brought for de addiction which involves You need to consult a psychiatrist and go for 3 steps of de addiction. 1st is detoxification, when alcohol is stopped and the withdrawal is made smooth with minimal discomfort, 2 nd is maintenance and further deaddiction when the physical problems and psychological state of the individual is maintained and anti-craving drugs started 3 rd rehabilitation, when relapse prevention is the goal, while maintaining deaddiction. All the best.

I am 29 years old boy and having pain in all over body, please let me know how to recover it.
Find out rutcause of pain of body. Are you doing any hard work? or anything else. Take rest and go to your doctor.

My age is 23 yrs. Preparing for govt. Exams for last 2 years ,my exams are in next few weeks and this is going to be my last attempt as I already wasted two precious years of my life. Still I don't feel like studying I am tensed and stressed I know if I fail this time also my life is going to be miserable .all people around me of my age group have a job but still I am not working hard to get a job for myself. I think l lost interest in these exams. I am not a hard working person .I don't feel like doing anything just sitting thinking negative ,getting frustrated and stressing unnecessary instead of studying. I think this year also I am not going to be selected. I am getting frustrated as I know I am not working hard so I won't be able to clear this time also. Nobody in my family can understand what I am feeling and going through. I have a lot of personality issues timid ,introvert ,negative thinking ,rigid ,poor communications skills (I cannot even talk to sales or customer care people ,imagine my level )and many more bad qualities. Also have no friends for like so many years .These two years also enhanced my personality problems as I mostly stayed indoors appearance wise also gained a lot of weight. Also when I think of other alternatives (if not selected) I feel I won't be able to sustain as I am low confident and not able to make friends .i hv a negative outlook of life and I feel everything in future is going to be negative. Not moving forward in life no growth just stagnant like a tree all the people / friends I use to know are doing wonderful things in their lives and growing each day and I'm still the same as I used to be. Right now I'm feeling depressed and hopeless. What should I do now?

Life is full of ups and down my friend. It has not happend to you only. It happens to many people but in a different ways. You just like others have many other options. Just relax and do not burden yourself. Every sucessfull person had worst times in his/her career or life. ITs part of life, take it as an experience. It is not the hard work which you can see and get results, it is also the consistency and sincerity which pays, may be a bit later, but it pays. Its your life, do not compare yourself with others. Your have different opportunities and problems than others. So what ever you are doing, if you think its not good, then simply stop doing that. It is as simple as that. Do not worry, you are just a kid. You have alot to learn. Stay positive. Stay in touch. Opt what you like. Do not be in a herd. Good luck.

I am 24 year old. I dont know what is going with me. Nothing going good in my life. Continuously thoughts come in my mind to attempt suicide. I am in depression. My mind is totally freeze. Please save my life my other wise in upcoming days. I will be no more.

See. Depression is now a days growing too much faster in youngsters. It is best treated with homoeopathic medicines. Dont consult a psychiatric because its ultimately leading to more gross problems to patients. And your age is also quiet young. So better consult a homoeopath.

You must check out the leg pains with a doctor, immediately. Sounds to me like you are into an anger related depression. If you have not been on medication and you want to remain so, you will have to work very hard to recover from this condition. You must first of all seek the help of a counselor, ideally. If that person thinks that you need to meet with a doctor you will need to do so and cooperate right through. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good nights sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least 30 minutes but not in the scotching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Dont wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love: find someone to love and to love you back, if you are not already married. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive everyday and learn to be contended with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

I lost my business last year. It gives a huge depression to me. I prefer myself pls help me.

I lost my business last year. It gives a huge depression to me. I prefer myself pls help me.
In every career there are ups and downs. While getting into business, you must have anticipated the possibility of loss. However, nothing is permanent. Most of the successful people in the world today did not get where they are because they never failed; they failed repeatedly. It is because they did not give up. Work, business and money, although are important, are not everything in life. You have to set some goals for yourself and work on them. Treat this as a learning experience; now you know how to proceed ahead. If you are feeling low consistently, and it is interfering with your sleep or general well being; or you feel suicidal, consult a psychiatrist immediately. You can consult me further if required.

You seem to be having lot of anxiety about the same. Tremors, feeling anxious or nervous, sense of panic, sweating, increased heartbeat, feeling of impending doom, stomach discomfort, dizziness etc are signs of anxiety. These can be debilitating. If the anxiety us overwhelming, consult a psychiatrist at the earliest. With the right medication and counseling, it is likely your symptoms will improve. Other than that, try yoga, deep breathing, meditation, moderate exercise, progressive muscular relaxation and guided meditation.

I am facing depression from last one year failure of life feelings compel me to finish myself. I am confused what to do.
Hello, I would suggest you to seek help from a professional as you are suffering for a year now. Depression is a state where there is a chemical imbalance in your body, it is a physiological condition and not purely psychological. Depression if treated earlier have a good prognosis. Please see someone and if need be you could start medication. Once you are on medication and you are feeling positive changes then you also incorporate following suggestions to help build resilience, which will help you manage your stress in a better way and you would be able to lead and happy and fulfilling life ahead. To begin with doing guided progressive muscular relaxation before sleeping will help you relax. You could download an audio file. I would also suggest you to take a multiple small break to take 3 nice and deep breath while keeping your eyes closed. You could do this while sitting or standing or while even walking or climbing stairs (keep your eyes open in that case). When you take a nice and deep break there is actual physiological change in your body. Thus will help you to activate parasympathetic nervous system which promotes relaxation and helps you calm down and think more clearly. This will also actually improve your performance in your work. Along with this exercise is one of the best way to relive stress and stay fit. Engage in any kind of physical activity at least 4 times a week. This also helps in stress reduction. Along with this some relaxation exercises as well as engaging in joyful activities such as music, singing, dancing, reading, being in nature, gardening, talking with friends or anything which you enjoy will help reducing stress and rejuvenation of your mind and body. Have good routine for sleep and eating. Lot of research has now proven that sugar is very harmful for our health. Reduce sugar and refined white floor in your diet as much as you could. Along with this also increase consumption of raw vegetables in the form of salad in both the meals of your day. If you need help in exploring what works best for you and make this into your life style do let me know. As a trained wellness coach I could help you tailored your own holistic wellness program. Hope this helps wishing you very best.

Well your question is direct and to the point. You must now visit a counselor and talk about your anger. Your depression is clearly anger related and this could be causing your headaches too. Are you aware of what you are angry about? if this anger is from your childhood, there is much work to be done. If not then you can easily identify the recent origins of this anger and express it in therapy and when it is out, the headaches will also disappear. Do not experiment with the medicines without the explicit directions of your doctor. Continue the medicines as directed but do the counseling in tandem for the best results.

From 4 years I been an smoker till now sandenlly I feel so pain heart side. How could be it quit it smoking habit.
Stop smoking asap, as it is pollution levels in the environment are high and all of us in delhi/mumbai are inhaling 8-10 cigarettes a day ruining our lungs and hearts, low levels of oxygen in circulating blood can trigger a heart attack, you should quit smoking through will power for your sake and for sake of your loved ones. You have pain on the heart side, remember all pains are not due to heart, if there are no other symptoms, try a painkiller like meftal, if it is a muscular pain, it will give you relief, but heart pain is sharp shooting and does not get corrected by painkillers. Do give a feedback.

If you are elderly smoker with blood tinged sputum, loss of weight, any new lump in axilla, neck, fossa above collar bone then you may be suffering from lung cancer. Usually lung cancer is silent killer. Symptoms are often late to come probably in 3rd or 4th stage. Treatment may not help with longevity of life in late stages but they can be palliative to increase the quality of whatever life remains.
