I am 46 year old female housewife. I have very sensitive skin and there are lots of black scars on my face. I have used many creams and gels which have not cured instead removes the skin layer because of which the scar becomes more dark. Please suggest me something.

acne is a common problem in teen. Almost everybody will get pimples during their teen years. First, don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction (rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin c (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin e on scars. You may have heard that applying vitamin e to a scar will help it heal faster. But according to a study, applying the nutrient directly onto a scar can actually hinder its healing. In the study, vitamin e either had no effect or made matters worse for 90% of the patients, and 33% who put vitamin e on the skin developed a contact dermatitis. Increasing the intake of omega-3 fatty acids through a diet significantly rich in fish and seafood results in lower rates of an inflammatory disease like acne. A low-glycemic-index diet also reduces acne risk. I being a both a registered dietitian and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. Bariatric Surgery - Aftercare Tips You Must Follow!

Bariatric Surgery - Aftercare Tips You Must Follow!

If you have taken the big decision to go ahead with bariatric surgery, one thing you need to prepare for well in advance is the additional effort that is required after the surgery to ensure it is a success. The results will be evident only after a few months post the surgery. This period requires your constant attention.

Listed below are some after-care measures that are essential for the success of a bariatric surgery.

  1. Hospital stay: Most patients are advised hospital stay for four days, during which the hospital staff will ensure the sleeve is working fine. No food is allowed for 48 hours. Diet is gradually advanced from water to clear liquids, about 50 ml to 100 ml and then to 150 ml.
  2. Wound care: Depending on whether a laparoscopic or open surgery was done, the number and location of incisions will vary. However, the wound should be maintained clean and it should be ensured that there is no infection of the site. Wound care should be done by the nursing staff if required. Suture removal, if required, should be done as per doctor’s advice.
  3. Pain management: Finish the course of antibiotics and pain killers to ensure infection is completely gone. Pain would continue, if the infection is not completely controlled.
  4. Diet: The first two weeks would be a completely liquid diet. The next two weeks will consist of a pureed diet. After these four weeks, solid foods will be introduced.

Foods to avoid after a bariatric surgery include anything with a higher protein content and anything that has too much oil as the stomach’s ability to digest these is reduced. Refrain from:

  1. Carbonated beverages
  2. Hard meat
  3. Nuts and seeds
  4. Fried foods

Food items to include post bariatric surgery include those which are easy on the stomach, including:

  1. Liquids such as soups, broth, juice and milk
  2. Pureed cooked vegetables and eggs
  3. Soft mashed food including meat and vegetables

Adherence to this will reduce complications. While eating, the patient should also remember to chew nicely, eat and drink slowly, increase water intake throughout the day, and avoid fats and sugar. It is advisable to eat three proper meals a day and avoid snacking during the day.

Remember that the need for bariatric surgery arose in the first place due to uncontrolled eating of oily food. After undergoing a bariatric surgery, diet pattern is definitely going to move to a healthier side with reduced fat and sugars. It is not an easy shift, but definitely required, if the surgery is to be a success. Imagine the new you and you will be able to do it! In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Can I use topinate cream tube for tinea in my under arms since last 1 year, wise opinion is required.
Avoid tight undergarments. Wear loose cotton underclothes. Keep the private parts dry. Remove any form of moisture that accumulates. Change underclothes regularly. Reduce weight. Tinea is due to a fungal infection which grows in hot, humid, wet environments. You need to use antifungals. Topinate vil not help you.

It might be sebaceous cysts or lipomas or calcinosis cutis. You need to get it examined and removed. It is nothing serious. Natural remedies won't help in this matter.

Hi lybrate-user! If you have doubt you can better take one cancer screening test and then your doubt will get cleared and you can live happily. Since other doctors have told I also tell you the same that nothing to worry. Instead of worrying in life try to keep yourself safe from destroying habits and addiction. Very familiar Proverb to remind you is "Prevention is better than cure" so stay away from risky habits and behaviors so that you can lead a peaceful life forever. Take care. No worries. Be relaxed. With regards, Psy. MSV.
