Slight back and lower abdominal pain is normal in early pregnancy, but you should consult a gynaecologist in person.

Preventive Health Check-up - Why Should You Go For It?

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” however, while one may commend you on an excellent diet schedule, keeping the doctor away might not always seem to be too favourable an option, especially in recent times when unforeseen circumstances and complications pertaining to lifestyle irregularities always keep creeping up.

While proper diet and regular workouts may keep you remarkably fit, genetic constraints might easily overrule such efforts to maintaining good health. Frequent checkups are especially recommended for those who share a family history of a number of diseases, infections, any type of cancer, hypertension, or sleep disorders, since problems might grow quietly and steadily when left unchecked for a longer span of time.

Most people usually visit their doctor or physician when they face an emergency. This should not be the scenario, as is advised by most health experts. It has been widely accepted that the average visit to the clinic must be at the least, four times a year. However, uniformity isn’t to be maintained by everyone in this regard. Infants see a doctor for at least eight times a year while six to eight year olds visit their physician twice a year.

It is important to have a number of crucial matters looked into and tested periodically in order to keep track of any unfavourable developments:

  1. Dental check-up every six months
  2. Annual pap smears
  3. Semi-annual HIV tests
  4. Eye examinations once every two years, once a year for those patients with current vision problems
  5. Biennial skin cancer screening
  6. Full physical examination once a year
  7. Breast examination once a month
  8. Pelvic examination every few months
  9. Thyroid tests every five years
  10. Check blood pressure level every month

It is imperative to understand that not one particular check-up schedule is capable of fitting in the necessities of all individuals. This makes it all the more clear that, while the requirement of physical attention isn’t the same for everyone, once a year physical check-up is a must for any individual.

I am a 67 year old widower, having lost my wife 20 years back. Though I hardly get erections, I masturbate once or twice a week as it gives me a sense of relief and focus. I also learn this will prevent any prostate problems. Is that true? Should I continue this practice?

Hello- Frequent masturbation in young men is linked to higher risk of early prostate cancer, but it lowers prostate cancer risk for men in their 60s, so yes you should definitely continue it.

Itching may be primarily due to 2 main reasons: Dryness and infection. For dryness apply coconut oil all over the body or some mild moisturiser. For infection bath with curry leaves water with pinch of salt. Also start homepathic medicines for itching. Wear only cotton clothes.

How to avoid constipation. I am taking fruits and vegetables but still I am facing the problem. Pls help.
1. Eat high fiber diet like fruits, vegetables, beans, boiled/sprouted moong dal, whole grain rice, whole wheat pasta, whole meal breads, oats. 2. Avoid foods which are high in fat. Choose lean meats like fish, chicken. 3. Eat on schedule 4. Drink plenty of water, 8-10 glasses daily, avoid alcohol/caffeine 5. Take regular physical exercise 6. Stick to a regular timing for going to toilet. 7. Take 2 tsf of softovac sf/naturolax powder with warm water at bed time for few days or syrup duphalac 15 ml twice daily 8. If you have chronic constipation, you may have to do colonoscopic examination after consulting gastroenterologist

In summers can I have packaged milk without boiling?
Yes you can if you like the taste. Also note that milk is just one part of a healthy diet and may not be sufficient to cater to your nutritional demands. So adapt a holistic health approach to ensure fitness and stamina.

I am taking biotin 10000 mcg tablets how many litres of water should I drink daily because I heard that without sufficient water skin breakouts happen so please tell me how much water is required daily ?

Hi lybrate-user, Thanks for posting on Lybrate, Our body has sufficient mechanism to retain water when we drink less than usual and to lose water when we drink excess of water. This mechanism is through our kidneys. By and large, 2 litres of water a day would be sufficient for a person. But few people may require less or more than that. So, my advice is. Drink enough water so that you are not feeling thirsty often. If you fell thirsty often, that means your body needs more water than what you are consuming. If you are passing urine repeatedly than usual, you can consider you may require less water than you are consuming. This is considering you do not have Diabetes Mellitus or any kidney problems or other physical ailments. Hope this answers your question. Thanks

Hello, Apply Homoeopathic medicine – Thiosinaminum Q few drops mixed in a glycerin solution on scars that are visible (as it is less greasy, so is more easily absorbed into the skin). Also take Causticum 200 orally twice daily for 4weeks.
