FACTS ON TEA -DAILY REFRESHING DRINK
***********************************************************
When we speak of tea, it is commonly assumed to be black tea with milk and sugar. However, the word ‘Tea’ means any herb. This means even hot Tulsi water is Tulsi tea or hot mint water is Mint tea. Many herbs can be converted into tea such as jasmine tea, lemon tea, lemon grass tea, masala tea, sounf tea etc.

When the decoction of the leaves and the water is reduced to 50% on boiling, it is called Kadha. Black tea without milk and sugar is much healthier than black tea with milk and sugar.

Classical tea without sugar and milk has an astringent taste. But according to Ayurveda, this is good for health as it reduces Kapha imbalance. When sugar and milk is added, both of which have sweet taste, they neutralize the weight reducing and kapha–relieving properties of the black tea. Therefore, milk or sugar should not be added to tea. For the purpose of taste, one can add Gur or jaggery or artificial plant sweetener Stevia.

Black tea is also a mild diuretic and increases urination as it contains caffeine, which is also a stimulant. This is the reason why tea is used to remain awake. In this regard, coffee is stronger than tea. When taken in moderation, black tea is good for the heart and general health. If one has to choose tea then jasmine, lemon and lemongrass teas are better.

In Ayurveda, different teas have been prescribed for different personalities. Therefore, you can get vata–pacifying tea, pitta–pacifying tea and kapha–pacifying tea.

? Take cleaned ginger pieces and crush it to make a paste. ? Now, extract the ginger juice from this paste. ? Take 2 teaspoons of ginger paste and mix it well with 2 teaspoons of honey. ? Consume this mixture for three times a day for a month to see visible results Size of penis differs from person to person. The average length worked out in some studies show that the penis is 3.5 inches in length normally and goes to 5.1inch length when erected. The latest study in America determined that the average size of the erectile penis is 5.6inches and the circumference of the erectile penis is 4.8 inches. Whatever is the size of the penis, it must be understood that it is normal for the man most people think that the taller the man is the bigger is his penis ?this is not true. Different lengths have been found in different heights of men. The shortest penis of 2.5 inches is seen in a big built man of 5.11 inches height. On the other hand a slim person with the height of 5.6 inches has a penis of 5.5 inches. There is no relation between race and penis. The small size of the penis is only perception. Men complaining of small penis can be due to the person suffering from erectile dysfunction. A man sees his own penis to be smaller when they see from the top. This is the result of foreshadowing. Abdominal fat can also make the penis look smaller. A small size penis grows to 100% length when erected whereas a longer penis grows to 75% length in erection the Size of penis be increased? There are no creams, pills, exercises or medicines that can increase the size of the penis. Surgery is the only cure in cases when the total length of the penis remains 3 inches when erect. This is no full proof treatment. There are many methods recommended to enlarge the size of the penis. These include some non-surgical methods like stretching by hand, mechanical devices or attachment of weights or with the use of vacuum pumps. All these methods are very risky as the inner tissues of the penis are very delicate and can be damaged by wrong handling of the penis. The results are also not very positive. Up to 3 eggs per day. What you take in can make or break your gains when it comes to true muscle growth. Here are 8 muscle-builders that you should know about. When it comes to packing on pounds of pure, unadulterated muscle, diet is the single most important part of your overall bodybuilding program. You can workout all you want, but if your diet isn't in check you will never achieve the physique of your dreams. The body relies heavily on nutrients from the foods and supplements that you consume to help create an environment conducive to huge gains. Although there are an infinite number of choices out there, a select few muscle-builders come up time and time again on every true bodybuilder's shopping list. 1 EGG WHITES There's a reason why every successful bodybuilder in the world incorporates egg whites into their diet. With a protein to fat ratio of 60: 1, egg whites are unquestionably one of the purest forms of protein in the world. This magnificent muscle-building food also possesses an extremely high biological value - meaning that a large proportion of the protein absorbed from egg whites is readily utilized by your body for protein synthesis. Egg whites also contain very few carbohydrates and are a source of vitamins and minerals. NUTRIENT VALUES FoodCaloriesProteinCarbsFatDetails Egg whites5084%8%0%view 2 CHICKEN/TURKEY To pack on pounds of serious muscle, lean meats such as chicken and turkey breasts should be a staple in every bodybuilder's diet. Aside from providing an excellent source of high quality protein, they are also extremely low in saturated and trans fats. NUTRIENT VALUES FoodCaloriesProteinCarbsFatDetails Chicken breast17248%0%48%view Turkey11973%0%22%view 3 FISH Although the recurring theme so far has been to eat foods that are low in fat, fish is one exception to this rule. Of course you want to stay away from saturated and trans fats, but your body still needs essential fatty acids such as omega-3 to help support the muscle-building process. Cold water fish such as salmon, tuna, trout and sardines are an excellent source of protein and healthy fats. Canned fish packed in water also comes in very handy because it provides a quick source of protein when on the go. NUTRIENT VALUES FoodCaloriesProteinCarbsFatDetails Salmon11669%0%27%view Tuna11688%0%6%view Trout14856%0%40%view Sardines20847%0%50%view 4 BEANS & LEGUMES If you are serious about building muscle, you can't ignore the power of beans and legumes. When people typically think of bodybuilding foods, they immediately refer to various lean meats, but what they don't realize is that the bean is a delicious and highly nutritious source of protein and fiber. Fiber is essential to maintaining a regular and normal healthy bowel movement as well as proper insulin response - which is critical to muscle growth as both functions aid in absorption and use of various nutrients and supplements ingested by bodybuilders. Kidney beans in particular are a very popular choice as they provide nearly 14 grams of both protein and fiber per cup! That's why you should never ignore the power of the bean! NUTRIENT VALUES FoodCaloriesProteinCarbsFatDetails Kidney Beans2958%57%17%view Lima Beans11324%71%7%view Navy Beans6737%78%9%view 5 LEAN RED MEAT Lean ground beef and cuts of red meat are excellent massbuilding food sources rich in protein, iron, zinc and B vitamins. Red meats have a high calorie per serving ratio, making it an excellent choice for hard gainers looking to pack on some serious size. However, because red meats do possess a higher level of saturated fats, they should not be consumed on an everyday basis. Lean red meats are best incorporated into a weekly diet of chicken, turkey and fish - adding a little variety to your weekly nutrition plan. 6 SLOW-BURNING CARBS OR LOW GLYCEMIC CARBS Muscle isn't built with protein alone. You also need a good source of slow-burning carbohydrates to fuel and sustain your muscles. Slow-acting carbohydrates found in foods such as oatmeal and sweet potatoes make the best pre-workout snack. Why? Well, when you exercise, muscle glycogen (carbs stored within your muscle) becomes the main source of fuel. As glycogen levels decrease from hard training, your intensity begins to decrease and more importantly, your body begins to tap your muscles for a source of energy thereby causing them to degenerate! That's why it's so important that no matter what your goals are, in order for your muscle-building machinery to run at maximum levels, you need a consistent source of fuel such as a serving of slow-digesting carbs. 7 WATER When it comes to musclebuilders, the first thing to come to mind is meat. But the number one item that should be in your arsenal is water. Just think about it - 70 percent of your body is made up of water. Your muscles, tissue cells and ligaments all contain water. And most importantly, your life force - blood - is made up substantially of water. When it comes to building a massive physique, you need to keep yourself in the most anabolic state possible and that is why many bodybuilders recommend drinking 10 liters of water a day. Staying hydrated also keeps your muscles full looking. In addition water also serves as a medium in nutrient transport to your muscle cells, making more efficient and effective use of the nutrients and supplements that you consume. 8 WHEY PROTEIN Now, we've talked about various food sources that can be found at any grocery store, but there is one extremely important supplement that is more than worthy of being included on this list - whey protein. When it comes to packing on pounds of muscle, it is generally recommended that your protein intake be approximately 1.0 to 1.2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. PROTEIN CALCULATOR WeightCalculate Reset Results ProteinSo for example, if you weigh 175 pounds, you need to consume between 175 to 210 grams of protein per day. That's a lot of protein to be consuming from whole food sources only. That is why a whey protein supplement is an excellent way to increase your protein intake throughout the day. It is also easy to prepare and consume. To get your anabolic furnace going, you can make a shake as soon as you pop out of bed, immediately after your workout and before heading to bed to ensure that you are getting the required protein into your system - allowing you to achieve some serious gains in muscle. Without a doubt, if there was one supplement that should be incorporated into every aspiring bodybuilder's diet, it should be whey protein. CONCLUSION If your goal is to pack pounds of pure muscle onto your frame, you can't be eating "empty" calories that do nothing but add mass to your waistline. You need to carefully select the right foods and supplements and incorporate them into your daily diet. By adding the musclebuilders mentioned, there is no doubt that you will be on the right path to achieving the physique of your dreams.

Mr. Lybrate-user, diabetes mellitus (t2) occurs either due to deficiency of insulin or resistance to its action or both. Plus overweight and inactivity contribute in increasing and maintaining high blood glucose level. Hence, treatment is directed towards increasing insulin level by giving certain drugs that stimulate secretion. Secondly certain other drugs are used to reduce resistance. All these are oral preparations. Some times hyperglycemia is very severe, then insulin injections have to be used, along with oral drugs. As regards other medical practices, there are really no drugs available which can stimulate insulin secretion or replace insulin itself. Those drugs can be used as supportive medicines. I have answered even though you wanted an ayurvedic specialist to give the answer, because I felt certain facts should be brought to your notice. Plus modern anti diabetes drugs are quite safe. Thanks.

Hi lybrate-user High levels of cholesterol are related to the intake of processed foods, sedentary lifestyle, nutrient deficiencies and stress. Many people think that cholesterol diet is directly responsible for cholesterol in the blood. So, all they have to do is to cut out high – cholesterol foods and their blood cholesterol will become normal. This is a misconception. Merely cutting down on the cholesterol diet will have a very little, almost an insignificant effect on blood cholesterol. It is important to know how to reduce and control cholesterol by relying on a good diet. When the body is fed with high cholesterol foods like eggs, red meat, high-fat dairy products, the excess cholesterol is metabolised and excreted leaving blood levels unchanged. Furthermore, the liver compensates for the excess intake of cholesterol by reducing its production so that the blood levels of cholesterol do not rise. All this happens if the person is leading a healthy lifestyle, consuming a lot of antioxidants in the form of fruits and vegetables; eating whole food in the form of whole grain cereals, whole grain pulses & avoiding processed & refined foods in addition to exercising. All these factors protect from the mishandling of dietary cholesterol. On the other hand if you are living a life of stress and eating the regular fast-food fare as well as a diet rich in cholesterol namely eggs, red meat and saturated fat in animal foods, then your body will metabolise the cholesterol diet differently. The liver then does not act as a safeguard; instead it allows the excess cholesterol diet to enter the blood stream and subsequently stores it in the blood vessels and coronary arteries. Such people get affected by cholesterol rich foods and benefit from knowing how to reduce their dietary cholesterol intake. This only justifies the phrase one man’s food is another man’s poison. Whatever be the reason of raising blood cholesterol, the answer is quite simple. When you increase your intake of soluble fibre, it helps bring down the blood cholesterol dramatically. The point to note here is that fibre occurs exclusively in plant food. Animal foods like chicken, fish, meat, beef, cheese, eggs, milk have little or no fibre to boast of. Fresh, raw fruits and vegetables especially the way we do it in Indian cooking (soggy and overcooked) destroy much fibre. Juices have little or no fibre. Similarly unrefined grains products like dhalia (broken wheat), whole wheat flour, wheat puffs, Brown Rice, Jowar & Bajra flour, whole dals like channa, rajhma, chowli, beans, black dal etc. High in fibre. Control cholesterol with breads and biscuits that high in fibre will list ‘whole wheat flour’ and not just wheat flour, as their chief ingredient on the label. Wheat bran is one of the highest fibre foods known because its fibre content is about 50%. There is no doubt that a diet rich in soluble fibre can lower blood cholesterol, blood pressure & prevent strokes as well as heart attacks. Soluble fibre is found in oat bran, fruits and vegetables. It has a powerful impact on the body’s metabolism of sugar and fats. So, how much fibre should you eat? It has been seen that in most Asian countries incidence of heart disease and diabetes is low. How to reduce cholesterol is a general question that everyone asks. People in these countries consume anywhere between 40-60gms of fibre per day. But an intake of 40-45gms of fibre is recommended to prevent heart disease. In the metros; however, the diet pattern is similar to the western countries; hence, the incidence of heart disease is more in the metros. To increase the fibre content of your diet and thereby reduce or control cholesterol levels all you have to do is: Switch to this Instead of this Unpeeled fruits and vegetable Whole wheat bread (please note whole wheat bread is not the same as brown bread). Fresh fruits Brown Rice or Wild Rice Oat Bran Whole grain dals like channa & rajhma, black dal chowli, green mung. Whole wheat bread. Popped corn and puffed wheat Snack on high fibre biscuits like those made from millets or bran or soya bean or whole wheat flour. Peeled fruits and vegetables White bread Fruit juices Polished white rice Instant Oatmeal Animal protein White flour (maida) Potato chips & fried sev Maida biscuits, where the label reads as ‘wheat flour’ as their main ingredients.
