I want to go for ivf I wanna know the difference between ivf and icsi? Which is most successful and least painful.

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MBBS
IVF Specialist, Delhi
In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process of fertilisation where an egg is combined with sperm outside the body, in vitro ("in glass"). The process involves monitoring and stimulating a woman's ovulatory process, removing an ovum or ova (egg or eggs) from the woman's ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a liquid in a laboratory. The fertilised egg (zygote) undergoes embryo culture for 2–6 days, and is then transferred to the same or another woman's uterus, with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy. IVF was the technique that was developed first and ICSI is a variation of this technique. From the viewpoint of a patient, not much changes with reference to scans, superovulation injections, blood tests, egg collection as well as the actual embryo transfer. The only difference is that which takes place in the lab. In the IVF process, the sperm are left to fertilize the eggs in a Petri dish. ICSI is different in that we give the sperm the boost they require to get into the egg- this is done with the use of a micromanipulator. ICSI, the sperm is carefully deposited into the egg- the embryologist selects a good quality sperm and injects it straight into the egg. This method is used in case: The man has very low sperm count The sperm have low motility or are of an abnormal shape Previous IVF attempts have failed The fertilization rate had been unexpectedly poor Frozen sperm is being used in the treatment Embryo testing is being done.

I am about 29years old and my gf is about 24 years old we had unprotected Sex on 14th of April. I completely penetrated inside her. Just want to what are chances of she getting pregnant. WE have had this kind of encounters before but nothing has gone so far. Kindly advise.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Missing the next scheduled period is the first sign of pregnancy. If your fiend misses her scheduled period, go for a urine pregnancy test, of its negative, just relax and wait for periods to come. If it's positive and you both do not wish to continue the pregnancy consult a gynecologist with the tests reports.

You need to wait for 1 year for conceiving. Do sexual intercourse during ovulation period which is 8th to 18th day after menses which is fertile period.

Hi Sathiyaraj, it's correct time to remove stitch. Don't worry it's not harmful if done under aseptic condition. It's not very painful. No need for hospitalisation.

Homeopathic Treatment For Respiratory Problems!

The lungs are highly prone to chronic problems. Be it asthmabronchitis or COPD, these problems require chronic treatment and the patient is always on alert. Homeopathy believes that these are just symptoms of an underlying, deep-rooted cause and addressing the root cause can help in complete cure of symptoms. By working on the underlying problem, homeopathy attempts to:

  1. Prevent further damage to the organs; so disease progression is arrested
  2. Reduce dependency on steroids and bronchodilators, which is very common among most people with chronic respiratory disorders
  3. Natural and holistic treatment with minimal side effects

What Causes Breathing Problems?

There are many causes of breathing problems. Some people have difficulty breathing when they get a cold. Others have trouble breathing because of occasional bouts of acute sinusitis. Sinusitis can make it difficult to breathe through your nose for a week or two until the inflammation subsides and the congested sinuses begin to drain.

It is supposed to be incurable when it continues for more than two months. The respiratory system renderoxygen to the cells and exclud waste from the body; The different symptoms of respiratory diseases should be treated wisely because long-lasting infections can turn into lifetime lung diseases. I am a 23 yrs old female and I am suffering from pain in stomach at the time of sex. Please tell me what should I do?

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Do you have any other problems? for example, any discharge from the vagina? any change in your periods? any bleeding after sex? there should not be pain so there is something causing it. One possibility is an infection? several kinds of infections are common in the vagina. You can also get this symptom with something called pelvic inflammatory disease (pid). Another possibility would be something like a fibroid.
