What Are the 3 Primary Causes Why Under Eating Won't Help You Lose Weight?

PG Dip Diet, B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition

What Are the 3 Primary Causes Why Under Eating Won't Help You Lose Weight?

Losing weight is very difficult and for that you don't have to eat less or exercise more as it will not work. The quantity of calories is not taken into account, but it is only the quality of the calories that make a huge difference without the need of you going hungry. It is very necessary that your body is able to burn the calories you eat and in this way, you can lose weight. Eating few calories on a regular basis can result in malnutrition, nutrient deficiencies and in unhealthy weight loss.

Conditions That Occur due to under eating: By intake of few calories on day to day basis, our body system learns to live with smaller amount, and it slows down the metabolism of your body. The worst thing is that you even stop losing weight and feel irritated as well as sluggish on the diet you intake. The practice can be reversed, and it will not take much time for your body to recover and its metabolism to become better.

Long term intake of low diet can also put you at a higher risk of nutritional deficiency. As by eating less, the body does not get the necessary vitamins and minerals required for daily functioning.
To keep alive it is very important that a minimum blood-glucose level is maintained. If the blood glucose is less than required, a lot of stress can be created on your organs, and it would damage vital organs of your body.
It is very important that we develop positive food thoughts, and constant restriction can result in eating disorders like orthorexia and anorexia.

Opt For Healthy Eating:

  • The simple and healthy way which you can start with to lose weight would be at first to make small changes like eliminating beverages that are sugary as well as replacing your diet with healthier choices.
  • It is best to avoid unhealthier choices like eating muffins and donuts for breakfast. Instead, you should eat whole foods, oatmeal, eggs and fruit for breakfast.
  • The basic rules that should be followed are that men should not eat above 1500 calories in a day, and women should not eat above 1200 calories in a day.
  • It is best to focus on eating healthy food instead of calorie counting. The weight loss may be slow, but it would be stable and long-lasting.

The most important step that needs to be followed to lose weight effectively is to have a proper mindset and follow a healthy diet to achieve your goal.

I am addicted of hand practise. Is it affects on my future sexual capacity after marriage?
Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. MASTURBATION is normal, natural and never unhealthy. Even animals do masturbate. As a human being, you are also an animal. Every animal has sexual instinct because they are designed to reproduce. Human being also has sexual instinct and therefore he needs to satisfy sexual instinct. Therefore, to satisfy sexual instinct, a man or woman, masturbates. In any case, masturbation is never unhealthy or will never affect your physical or sexual health or it cannot affect your future sex life and the ability to have children. Masturbation cannot affect your growth or cause pimples or cause hair fall or cause shrinkage of penis or loss of vital nutrients or cause problems in testis size or colour etc. Masturbation cannot increase your belly fat or cause obesity. You should try to reduce the masturbation frequency to thrice a week and continue masturbation. You can be sure; there are no side effects to masturbation if you are able to restrict it to thrice a week. Jogging and physical exercise are always good to keep you fit and stop worrying about sex and allied thinking. I suggest online sex counseling and therapy. Take care.

There are many conventional allopathic sexual pills in market such as adegra, viagra, penegra etc. Refrain yourself from using such pills as those pills contain a steroid called sildenafil. This steroid has a unique temporary effect on erectile problems. Patients using these pills for first time often report that their penis remain strong even after ejaculation. Such effects leads the patients to use sildenafil for prolonged course of time as they often feel that a full erection is possible only after taking sildenafil. Moreover it is very low cost & easy availability of this steroid has made it quite common as sexual medicine. But the bitter truth is prolonged use of sildenafil will permanently disable the normal physiological process behind erection & will render your body to become solely dependent upon sildenafil for erection. As a result you won't feel any slightest normal erection without taking sildenafil. This is an irreversible condition & it cannot be treated by any means. Once you attain this condition you become a life-time customer of that steroid sildenafil because you have to take sildenafil in order to satisfy your partner. As prevention is always better than cure I would advise you to check the composition of any sexual pills before buying. Discard any sexual pills which contains sildenafil in its composition. Instead of viagra you can take homoeopathic mother tincture agnus castus q q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.

I am 24 years old. I would like to know the reasons diabetics. And also diet for diabetic patients.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
I am 24 years old. I would like to know the reasons diabetics. And also diet for diabetic patients.
Mr. Lybrate-user, the reasons why diabetes develops are multiple. In t1 diabetes there a complete loss of insulin secreting beta cells, due to production of antibodies. T1 is an auto immune disease. T2 is occuring either due to lack of insulin or increase resistance to its action. It is a familial disease, spreads in families. Other contributing factors are over weight or obesity, inactivity, junk foods, aerated sweetened drinks. Diet for a person with diabetes has to be very specifically designed. However, certain precautions to be taken with regard to diet are: avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries and other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks and high fat milk products. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and salads, permitted fruits about a 100 g a day. Also take high fiber containing foods like whole grain products. Take total calories based on your ideal body weight, extent of exercise and blood sugar levels. Thanks for the question.

I am just 60 crossed and I am a diabetic person (Type 2 ) and taking medicine only and sugar level is under control . Usually I go to bed at around 10.30 pm and used to wake up only in the morning. However, of late , daily I am waking up in between (once ) and go for urinating and thereby disturbance in good sleep. Is it any bad symptom or is it due to aging. Please advice.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
I am just 60 crossed and I am a diabetic person (Type 2 ) and taking medicine only and sugar level is under control ....
Mr. Lybrate-user, in diabetes if blood glucose level goes above 180 mg/100 ml, then kidneys can not reabsorb all the glucose filtered in the glomerulous. So certain amount is lost in urine. When urine containing glucose comes in bladder, it pulls more water due to osmosis in the bladder. Hence bladder becomes more full, increasing the urge to pass. That is one of the reasons why a person with diabetes passes more urine and frequently. If fasting is closer to 100 mg and pp between 150 to 160 mg /100 ml then this problem is less. So it is possible that due to hyperglycemia you need to get up for urinating at night. Age can be a factor. But in non diabetic persons this problem is rarely noticed. It may be seen in those who have benign prostatic enlargement. Thanks.
