A chalazion is a cyst due to accumulated secretions from the glands of the eyelids. Hot compresses with a wet towel might help along with antibiotic and antiinflammatory medicines. However, if it does not reduce in size, you might need surgical intervention.

Dear, if you are unable to see objects clearly from left eye, you need to get your vision tested for any refraction error and corrective spectacles can be worn for that. Please see an opthalmologist for detailed examination of eye including slit lamp for any other pathology of cornea etc.

Hello, you should take Ruta 30 Ch , 3 drops once daily and Instil 2 drops of CMD2 eye drop in both eyes. Take Physostigma 30 Ch , 3 drops once daily at night. Follow these exercises to strengthen your eye muscles. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids.

Hello. Let me enumerate the diet necessary for healthy eyes. (1) green leafy vegetables including spinach, sprouts, cabbage, beetroot. (2) fruits-blue-berries, black-berries, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi fruit, grapes, pineapple, pomegranate, grapes, guava. (3) dry-fruits: almonds, walnuts, apricots, dates. (4) cereals: oats, barley, millets. (5) drink a cup of green tea daily. (6) drink a glass of milk daily. Comint o your other question, you should wear glasses regularly if the eye specialist has advised you to to do so. Though, it is not compulsory to keep them on for 24 hours, you should use them while watching television, driving, etc, when at rest, you could remove them. Not using the glasses would tend to spoil the quality of your vision. Subsequently, a change in the refractive power of the eyes would tend to cause further stress on your eyes. Hence, all said and done, wear your glasses judiciously. Eat healthy, avoid addictions and stay in touch with your eye specilist regularly. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care-regards.

Weak eyesight has multiple factors associated with it. To enumerate a few: (1) refractive error- change of the power of glasses is the commonest cause of weak eyesight. In fact, if you have not used glasses previously, it might be possible that you might need to use them now. (2) age related changes in the lens of the eye-this is generally known as cataract. This is present in varying proportions in a majority of population above 55 years. This means that some degree of cataract is usually found in the age group over 55 years. (3) retina problem-different degenerations of the retina usually lead to weakening of the eyesight. The degeneration may be caused due to progressive age. It may also occur due to a high minus number of the eye (myopia). (4) cornea related problem- cornea is the anterior (front) part of the eye. Certain issues with the cornea may cause weakening of the eyesight. (5) weakness due to injury/ trauma/ accident: in this regard, it may be possible to salvage good vision if early intervention is done. (6) optic nerve related problems: at times, raised intra-ocular pressure or certain neurological conditions may cause drying up of the optic nerve and cause poor vision. This may be possible to treat in certain cases. Thus, it would be a good idea to consult an eye specialist in person and get your eyes evaluated for the cause of weakening eyesight. Take care, regards,- Dr. Chaitanya.
