Feeling depressing to think about my studies and career .can't get rid of that, because of that I am unable to sleep properly. Help me to get rid of that.

Feeling depressing to think about my studies and career .can't get rid of that, because of that I am unable to sleep ...
Hi it seems you are spending more time worrying about your future and worrying about the lack of sleep rather than trying to work on what you should do now. You also seem to be lacking goals and plans. So better start working on planning what you should do now and how you should spend your available time usefully. This will make even your lack of sleep a boon because it will provide you more time for you to work and complete the tasks which you intend to complete. If you have difficulty in doing this the consult a clinical psychologist in your vicinity.

Your dreams carry the emotional attachments of your sub-conscious mind. It is very normal to get that dream. You can however decide'consciously' how much importance you want to give to these remnant feelings. Ignore it, don't act on it, let it fade away or think about it, be concerned and take an action that may disturb your present. Choice is yours.

Hello, she is not pregnant and her next menses should have occurred only by 8-10 th march, but as they have not even till now, she may get an ultrasound pelvis done to check for endometrial lining and also to rule out pregnancy and if negative then can opt for a progesterone withdrawal.

My mood changes frequently. If ever I'm in a great mood suddenly gets worse mood. \
Hi lybrate-user, mood swings, or rapid changes in one's emotional state, may occur as a reaction to circumstances or environment, as a result of a physical or mental health condition, or for no apparent reason. General moodiness is likely to be a part of everyone's life, but in some circumstances, changes in mood may be severe and have an effect on health and daily function. When rapid or frequent mood shifts seem to occur without a cause or when they affect one's behavior, well-being, or typical function, the support of a therapist or other mental health professional may be helpful. Mood swings are often associated with persistent expectations for bad things to happen or, in other words, negative thinking. For example, you might be waiting to hear back from a job and assume you didn't get it after only a day has passed. Or maybe your mother has informed you that she has something to tell you and you immediately assume that she's deathly ill. Not only is this kind of negative thinking often inaccurate, it can also dramatically affect your mood and lead you to feel very angry and upset, typically for little to no" real" reason.[1] there are two different tricks you can try for dealing with such unhealthy automatic thinking: take a step back and relax. Instead of assuming the worst that can happen, think about all of the other scenarios that are possible. This will help you realize that the worst is not likely to happen, and that there's no point in getting all upset until you know more information. Alternately, you could consider the worst possible scenario and prepare for it, just in case. By ensuring that you are well prepared for even the worst case scenario you can imagine, you might be able to focus your attention on something else instead of dwelling on the unpredictable consequences that could result from it. Secondly, overgeneralizing is another way that you may lead yourself into a bad mood. Maybe you had a bad interaction on a date or with a co-worker. So what? you may think this means that you'll never find love or that you're going to be fired, but you shouldn't let this one situation or conversation make you feel like it's indicative or determinant of other trends in your life. This kind of generalizing is bound to make you moody and upset, but there is a way to counteract it. Remind yourself that what happened was an isolated incident. Instead of assuming one incident (such as a disagreement with a coworker or date) is reflective of your entire relationship with this person, consider it as a one-off and something that doesn't happen very often. Remind yourself of all of the success you have had in this realm, whether it's your work life or your romantic life, and you'll be able to calm down a bit and realize that there's no need to get all worked up about it. Maintain a well balanced diet and exercise regularly. Consult a psychologist for mood monitoring.

Sir, I am a student and I can not focus on study for a longer time so I want to know that how can I do focus on study for a long period.

Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. You must be able to understand concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. If the task is boring, it is natural that that person will sleep or feel sleepy. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Take care.

I am addict to alcohol what should I do?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist,
Depending on how much you drink and how long you have been drinking, you may need to go for detoxification. This may be done either in a hospital or in a rehabilitation center itself. It is a way of clearing all the toxins related to the alcohol and this will make it easy for you to remove the physical craving. It will also help to deal with the withdrawal syndrome when abstaining from alcohol consumption. You will need the help of a therapist and a support group called the aa, alcoholics anonymous. They follow a very effective and time-tested 12 step program for the recovery. You will need to avoid all associations to drinking: friends, places, habits, companions, and times, for a short period until you get over the addictive drive. You may take liquid substitutes when the drinking urge is strongest as an oral stimulant. Examples of these would be: soups, buttermilk, juices, pepper water, tender coconut water etc. Start a completely new set of habits, behaviors, social circles, entertainment sources, and learn to be happy without the drink. There is a concept called script work, which is where the success of your recovery can have a lasting and effective impact. You must make some plans around salary time, and how to save money, and clear debts that you might have accumulated when you were drinking. Ideally, you should admit yourself to the rehabilitation center where all these things and more are done and practiced.

I am lost a my partnership then fell a very depressed so then resolve my problem and say any treatment.

I am lost a my partnership then fell a very depressed so then resolve my problem and say any treatment.
Fortunately, this depression is related to an extraneous event. Once this event it managed well in terms of the emotions associated with it, you will feel much better. I recommend that you meet with a business consultant and see what he advises. For the emotional aspect you could meet with a counselor and sort that out. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Dear, anger and aggression are emotions. Anger comes when you become irritated. Irritation happens when you don't like something, or when something is repeated. As anger is an emotion, it should be vent out. You should be able to throw anger out instead of controlling it. But more perfect will be, know the frustrating situations and stop being emotional. If practiced properly, you will not get irritated at those circumstances at all. Those techniques are much easier to understand. Take care.

I get aggressive suddenly. What should I do. please suggest me what to do?

MD - Psychiatry, MBBS
Psychiatrist,
For anger do the following:- 1. You may leave from that place, go into fresh air and take some deep breaths from the abdomen, getting as much fresh air as possible into your lungs. 2. Inner restlessness may be relieved by a brisk walk around to cool down so you can approach the situation with a cooler head. 3. Take advantage of the relaxing power of your sense of sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste. See natural scene, spend some time with pet. 4. Listen to your favourite music/sound track 5. Stretch or massage areas of tension. 6. Write down the triggering factors and try to avoid those situations.

Hello I am facing a problem these days whenever I want to study. I think I'm tired and it looks like to go and sleep for 1 hour or more. I cannot concentrate on my studies so please help me to sought out from this problem. I'm sleeping daily for 7-8 hours and eating at correct time. But no changes.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
There could be something disturbing you to cause stress. I recommend that you meet with a counselor and seek help for this stress. I am glad that you are sleeping well but eating on time is not the only factor: you must eat healthily. Are you sure you are in the right course? Did you do any career guidance? If not please do an aptitude test too. In the meantime do some of these recommendations very faithfully: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food.

U are doing very wrong by skipping your chapatti intake. You will never reduce weight like this. You need to take a proper balanced diet for weight loss. Every meal is very important. Pls do not pick up weights in the gym. Just go for cardio and stretching. You do not hve to take only fruits and vegetables for reducing weight. 1) start your day with a fruit 2) take frequent small meals 3) do not skip any meals 4) take your dinner by 7: 30 p. What you are going through is greaving. Loosing loved one is not easy to deal with emotionally. I am sorry for your loss. When you are greaving, your mind is continuously engaged in sad and disturbing thoughts and feeling of loss and perhaps guilt. When sadness over powers you it is difficult to feel any other feelings. Even feeling happy makes you feel guilty and uneasy. Slow but effective way to over cone sadness is to engage yourself in some neutral activities such as cleaning. Walking or readjng a light book. Once you try that for few days you may be ready for following things. There are few things I would like you to try. 1. When you feel sad. Feel the feeling of sadness fully. You may close your eyes and let that sadness flow through your mind and body. If tears flow let them flow. Cry it out. Feeling what you feel fully and totally is healing. Once you feel your sadness fully. You might feel the lightness in your heart. Feel that too and say out loud. How wonderful! and engage your mind remembering some good qualities and good times you spent with the person you are missing. 2. Regular simple breath awareness meditation also help manage your loss. 3. You may also l write daily 3 to 5 things you are grateful to every morning. These things could be as simple as having a bed to sleep and food to eat. Affirm what you write and add new thing in your list for 7 to10 days. If you are not feeling any change over next 2 weeks or if you lack motivation to initiate and maintain above activities feel free contact me and we could work together for few weeks to months to reverse your cycle and help you appreciate what you have. Hope this helps wishing you very best. Edit answer.

That type of man suffers from low self esteem and is not a man at all. Leave that man, and search a man who feels woman is an equal if not a better partner. Then life will be happy. If he consumes alcohol, frequently ask him to take de addiction treatment, else stay away.
