My daughter is 50 years old and she feels extremely sleepy before her periods. Very difficult to keep awake. She feels very tired during periods and has a typical headache, in which it seems as if the centre of her skull is being pulled out by some force. This is affecting productivity at work.

Hello, Your daughter is 50yrs. old, she might be approaching menopause. Is she on calcium and iron supplements? Has she gone to a gynaecologist? Any investigatons done so far? Share the reports with me for proper diagnosis and treatment. Diet: - Calcium is a mineral associated with building healthy bones and teeth. However, it may have some applications in minimizing the harmful effects of menstrual cramping. So,increase your intake by eating low-fat dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheese or green leafy vegetables. - Your body uses vitamin B-6 to manufacture new red blood cells. When you lose red blood cells via menorrhagia, your body will need more to build new cells. Also, vitamin B-6 is required for your blood sugar to stay at healthy levels. This can help prevent menstrual cramping-related mood swings and fatigue. Vitamin B-6 is found in fortified cereals, bananas, spinach, sunflower seeds, avocados, tomato juice and salmon. - Just as foods can help reduce the symptoms of menstrual cramping and bleeding, foods can aggravate your symptoms. This includes eating excessive amounts of sugar -- such as cakes, cookies and pies. These are known to contribute to water retention, which make you feel bloated and uncomfortable. High-salt content foods -- french fries, pizza and other fried foods --- can also contribute to bloating. Caffeine-containing beverages like tea and coffee should be avoided as they can contribute to headaches, mood swings and trouble sleeping. - If you're craving chocolate, make sure it's over 70 per cent cocoa. This bittersweet treat will help you relax your muscles. - We all know fluids are essential when your body is cramping or bloating. Drinking two to three litres of water during your period is essential. - Tea is an easy way to replace your caffeine craving. Green tea to soothe cramps. now, even though green tea contains caffeine, try decaffeinated green tea instead — but be aware, you may lose some health benefits with a decaf version. Caffeine is another no-no. Drinking lots of coffee or pop during your period can increase higher levels of tension and anxiety. - Avoid anything that can damage your liver should be off the list. So, avoid alcohol. - Red meat, Smart says, is also know to cause stomach upsets and cramps. Medications: Give her homoeopathic medicines which are very safe to take: Five Phos. and Alfaalfa Tonic - thrice daily for 1 month.

Hi my wife Now 18 th month pregnant. First scanning made on 12 th Week in dat report amniotic fluid index is normal. In last scanning at 18 th week the anomaly usg scan showed amniotic fluid moderately reduced. So why it is reduced? Apart from all the scanning is normal but amniotic fluid index only reduced. So is it normal? In future it will be normal or not? Tell me details. We r worrying lot. So please ans me. Thank u.

Hi my wife Now 18 th month pregnant. First scanning made on 12 th Week in dat report amniotic fluid index is normal. ...
When pregnancy occurs along with the baby, a structure named placenta is formed. This placenta is the one which forms the amniotic fluid. The baby passes urine which also maintains the amniotic fluid volume. So if the amniotic fluid is reduced it means there could be a problem with the placental function or baby's kidneys or both. Anomaly scan determines structure of a baby and its organs, even if it is normal it cannot say anything about function. It is better to take medicines to improve the amniotic fluid and if it does, to keep it in normal limits. If the amniotic fluid goes down further, to become severe oligohydramnios, at times it is an indication to terminate the pregnancy. So keep a watch and ask your wife to take 2.5 liters of water daily along with emdicines prescribed by your gynecologist.

Dear lybrate-user tell her to drink at least 5 to 7 glasses of hot water daily. This will begin to wash out heat from body. Also, tell her to apply simple coconut or til oil on private parts. If this does not work. You both will need medicine that is antibiotic anti fungal. Regards.

Im suffering from stomach pain from past few days im having pain below hip and in in my vagina during urinating and washing so what can I do for that my age is 15.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

Few main causes of lower back pains and pain while urinating are 1.Urinary tract infections are the most common cause of painful urination. They occur when germs gain entry into the body through the urethra and cause infection. Bacteria flourishing in the urinary tract cause inflammation of the surrounding tissue resulting in painful and burning sensation. Here are some common signs suggesting you’re suffering from UTI. 2.Kidney stones could also be a cause for painful urination. This could be usually accompanied by pain in the lower back. .3.In young girls cystitis because of their short urinary tract. 4.Allergic reactions to certain bathing products such as soaps or lotions can also cause painful urination. 5.Inflammation of the kidney (pyelonephritis) is a rare cause of painful urination. So you should visit a gynaecologist as a physical examination is surely required to reach to a diagnosis sso that treatment be given accordingly.

Hi Mukesh. It seems you have developed a sinus after c section site infection. Your scar site should be opened and the internally collected pus should be drained. With such severe infection, plain oral antibiotics will not be sufficient. injective antibiotics with daily would dressing would be needed otherwise this infection can become even worse. Please take appropriate help immediately.

If you do not want another pregnancy for 3 years, you can go for iucd, or use condoms, I would prefer condoms. If the caesaren has happened due to a non repetative cause, you can very well try for a normal delivery. But if there is an genuine indication, do not resist the decison of your gynec for a caesaren.

The best time to try to conceive is on the 14th day of the first menses. So, approximately, after the first day of her menses, having intercourse around 10th to 17th day is the best time to try for the baby.

Hi Doctor, I would like to know few doubts related to my wifes health. Its now about 6 months after our manage. marriage happened on Aug 2015. Later after some time it was found that my wife have PCOD and she started taking tablet for 3 months. In 3 months period got regular and as per advise from doctor the medicine was stopped. After that from Jan 2015 we are trying for Kid and till now no success. Recently about 3 weeks back she started showing many symptoms like vomiting tendency, black out in front of eyes, getting tired soon and we consulted doctor. Doctor advised it was because of anemia and gave few iron tablets. Routine using, blood and thyroid test happened. No pregnancy test was advised or done by doctor. For our satisfaction we used pregnancy kit and it has not shown any positive results till today. Now she is having vomiting tendency early morning and at times she tells she have sour/sweet taste in mouth and skips away food. Now, its already time for next period, Her period date should happen between 10th - 15th of month. For this month Feb period did not happen. Last period there was more bleeding one one day alone. Last period happened on Jan 10. Now its Feb 25 and period did not happen yet. Today morning we did pregnancy test and kit showed negative. My doubts are: a) Is she still having PCOD? B) IS this anemia? C) Is the kit showing wrong result. Should we confirm pregnancy through blood test or something? D) She is very much slim, will the PCOD cause problem for her in pregnancy?
