Hello lybrate user, back pain that is associated with day time sedentary jobs like computer professional s are associated with paraspinal muscle spasms. The best way to tackle this sort of pain is to do well spaced stretching exercises of the back, back extension exercises, using hot water bags to provide relief and avoiding stooping posture while sitting. Posture also plays a very important part in back pain, always maintain a straight posture while sitting. While getting up from the bed try to first go on your left or right side of the body and get up side ways. Avoid cruntches or sit-ups: they may increase the pressure on your back and may predispose to slip disc. Always maintain a healthy lifestyle in terms of regular brisk walking, meditation, eating healthy. P. S: try to avoid pain killers (analgesics) as much as possible as many are associated with side effects that you may not be aware of. Stay healthy. Stay happy god bless you.

I have severe back pain. The exact location is the start of the spinal cord. The pain at times becomes very severe. I am 47 years old and had undergone 3 caesarian and have 2 children. I lost my first child after giving birth to her. My second child is a girl and third is a boy. I am a housewife and I give tuitions. The tenure of tuition lasts for 6 to 7 hours a day. knee Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. hip Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation. .

Balancing Loads-

  • Minimize and balance your loads. Even if you maintain an ideal posture and lift correctly, the weight you lift may contribute to the pressure within the disc and cause further herniation of a disc. If you do not need to lift during the healing period of your disc injury, do not lift.
  • How to stand up from sitting position-
  • When rising from a seated position, avoid curling your spine forward. Rising in this manner can cause continual re-injury to the discs throughout the day.
  • The preferred way to rise is to maintain a normal curve in your lower back, keep your chest out, and brace your abdominal muscles. Scoot to the edge of the chair so that your legs are under you and do most of the lifting. This one ADL (Activity of Daily Living) modification has been accountable for the reduction of symptoms in many chronic disc herniations.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am 30 years old. I had a spinal surgery in dec 2013 due to a tumor called ependymoma. It was removed but since then I m not able to urinate naturally. I have to use a catheter to bypass urine myself. There is an improvement since surgery. But it's only 50% recovery I would say. Will it be fine one day or I will not be fine for the rest of my life. Are there any surgeries or medicines to take care of this disease.

5 Homeopathic Remedies For Knee Pain!

Knee pain is referred to as a condition when the knee joints (which are responsible for walking, running, sitting and standing along with bearing the maximum body weight for most forms of physical activities) are significantly inflamed, giving rise to a severe pain in particular areas or the entire knee joint. There might also be severe stiffness around the knee joint which might make it very difficult to function.

Knee pain might occur due to obesity, old age, different forms of arthritis, severe injury in the knee or the associated ligament or bones, knee cap dislocation, overuse of the knee joint and infections of the knee joint.

Homeopathic Treatment For Knee Pain:

1. Start with Physiotherapy treatment. 2. Also searched for Prolotherapy. 3. Wear knee braces. 4. Don't sit on floor. 5. Learn knee exercises. 6. Wear sports shoes. 7. Do hot fermentation twice a day. 8. Apply volini cream before sleeping. 9. TAKE CALCIUM(after breakfast), VITAMIN D 3, Glucosamine(After lunch) and Methylcobalmine(after dinner) supplement for 2 month minimum.

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg apply hot fomentation twice daily. Up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Low back pain is caused by wrong posture and movement. Our spine bears tremendous load despite this being a vulnerable structure as it is made of small pieces of but ones (vertebrae) arranged one about i've the other. Such an inherently unstable structure gets affected very easily if we don't take good care of it. Hence lifting objects by bending. Sitting for hours in crouched posture ate not good for back. You need to consult an orthopaedic surgeon to assess your damage and recommend measures like medicines. Postural advises. Back- strengthening exercises etc. Such guidance on these can be obtained from internet as well.

Dear lybrate-user ,Your problem is due to varicose veins, so always avoid long standing or walking, Wear leg stockings, do massage with Lakshadi tail, use tab. Rhumatil 2-2-2 + Rasanadi gugule 2-2-2 ,Three times a day with lukewarm water. You will get relief.

I am suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. My age is 33 yr. initially I was diagnosed as reactive arthiritis by Dr. in Jehangir Hospital & then sapho syndrome by another Dr. at Sancheti hospital. My joints pains a lot. Frozen shoulder, the leg fingers r swollen, spine pains, right knee joint swelling, right leg ankle is paining, left leg too. Overall i'm feeling like 70 yrs aged person. 1. Increase intake of barley flour, horse gram (a type of bean), split green gram, honey, celery seeds, cumin seeds, dried ginger root powder, garlic, bitter gourd and castor oil. 2. Avoid eating fish and milk together or milk and jaggery together. 3. Avoid incompatible, heavy, and oily foods. 4. Avoid an improper diet and lifestyle, such as waking up late in the night, suppressing natural urges of the body, and getting direct exposure to cold winds. 5. Go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid or semi-solid diet for an entire day, depending on your strength. You can follow this with hot fomentation (application of moist heat). This can be done by soaking cloth in warm water and giving a compress over the affected parts or steam bath or taking a bath with lukewarm water. These are the best methods of digesting ama. 6. Go for panchkaarma therapy for 10 days in some panchkarma center.

Visit a local physiotherapist and take regular treatment. They will use physical modalities to relieve pain and will also guide her about the muscle strengthening excercises. Strengthening is must in this case. Without that medicines can only suppress pain but not the root cause.

Yes pain of cervical spondyltiis can spread to front of shoulder and chest and also to hand of the affected side. Avoid forward bending of the neck and remain in that position for long time. Exercise is the best option to limit the disease and get relief from spasm.
