Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

Sir my mother age 55 yrs having sudden intermittent and moderate pain in left hip following down behind the thigh since 4 days and before this pain she got pain in back (lower back pain) for 2 days I did massage by analgesic then back pain went but hip pain is still and occuring mostly resting time. What I shoud do, please suugest me.

Hi I can understand your problem. The pain is due to nerve compression at lumber region but still clinical examination is needed. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold foementation. # change sleeping position. # use lumber support. Shoulder. Advice. Regular stretching of shoulder muscles. Warm up and cool down is a must. Hot fomentation. Neck. Neck exercises. Neck stretching. Postural correction. Shoulder shrugs. Take frequent breaks at work. Core strengthening exercises. Use cervical pillow. Use back support. Self massage the back of neck.

1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar.

Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day. Avoid junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Tea. Alcohol. Avoid alcohol consumption. Do pranayama early morning.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Joint pain is a very common problem with many possible causes - but it's usually a result of injury or arthritis.

It covers:

1. Pain in just one joint like knee joint. It can be due to osteoarthritis. It is quite common in older people but it can sometimes affect younger people, especially those who are overweight or those who have had serious injuries to the joint in the past.

2. Pain in many joints, most commonly the hands, feet and wrists. It can be due to rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, viral infection that causes arthritis.

The knee joint is particularly vulnerable to damage and pain because it takes the full weight of your body

Hi lybrate-user. See backpain is a something which is becoming epidemic nowadays. You need to be causious. Use support for back while working. Driving. You should be fit at your age. You must be working long long hours and sitting under stress without any spine support. Use cushions regularly. I myself have such a busy schedule I do not heed to my spine and at nite the pain takes its toll. So please be careful. If its excrutiating use analgesics like paracetamol 1000 mg stat or diclofenac but these have sideeffevts too. So best is prevention.

My mom age is 54. She suffered from severe joint pain in fingers and body leg pain. We went to rheumatologist. Doctor suggest tablet. She took tab for 8 months. But crp level is 17. Only reduce 3 point 20 to 17. Also she suffer body pain, back pain, feel vomit and stomach problem sometimes. Sometimes feel OK. How to reduce crp level and how long continue tablets. Is there any side effect. Other than crp level. Every other report is fine. No hormone, diabetes etc.

Hi there! Your mother probably suffers from and is being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis. As a rule, we do not chase CRP levels for a patient. We chase the symptoms and aigns i.e. The problems actually faced by the patient. CRP levels might or might not come down, with or without medicines. But there is nothing wrong with it. I suggest you stop getting repeated CRP levels assessed at your level. You'll be much happier. Let CRP levels be assessed, as and when required, by your Doctor. If clinically o/ symptomatically, your mother is better. That's the best thing. If she still has problems of pain, stiffness, etc. Her medication might have to be increased. Consult as required. All the best!
