Hi lybrate-user. Please elaborate your complaints. Are you having sore throat also along with ear pain. And is fever also there. Pls don't put oil in your ear everytime you have ear pain. Because it can be due to varied reasons. Ear infection. Hole in the ear drum. Serious ear disease etc. So I would strongly suggest you visit an ent surgeon for the same. As all ear pain case are not due to wax.

I am 31 years old. Mother of two. I have been facing the issue of earwax a lot .every time it happens I put waxolve. After using for few days I find my ears fine. Until it starts again. This time it has been little longer. I am tired of using waxxolve. This issue is there since my childhood.

Ayurveda,

Cotton swabs or cotton buds, are commonly used in our daily lifestyle. Many people use it for various purposes, such as make-up, bacterial culture, and most commonly for extracting wax and debris from the ear. Even though they are sometimes handy in our busy schedule, they usually cause much more harm than benefits. How are they misused? Cotton buds are toothpick like pieces made of wood, plastic, or rolled paper, which have cotton stuck at both ends with a roundish edge. It came into existence during the 1920s for a safe purpose of ear cleaning by Leo Gerstenzang, when he saw his wife cleaning their baby’s ear with a toothpick. And, til now they are used by the general population for ear cleaning, but these hardly remove the outer debris which is stuck near the outer edges. Impressing it inside the ear canal only does further damage, by forcing the inner wax further inside. Sometimes extensive force also causes damage to the ear drums. How does it cause the damage? Applying a tool like the cotton bud inside the ear with hands usually creates a force that impresses upon the eardrum, also accumulating the surrounding earwax to that area, resulting in impaction of the wax. The force applied most often, if not always, causes a damage to the ear drums, which might cause severe pain, also leading to leakage, causing improper balance, deafness, and certain similar abnormalities. Alternative measures Although we are worried about cleaning our ears, it doesn’t really require our notice, since our usual showers allow an adequate quantity of water to enter the ears and clean the accumulated debris automatically. The structure, in which our ear canal is designed, is usually naturally assisting in cleaning up the unusual wax around the ear. If there is an uncontrollable build up of earwax that is not cleaned off normally, you can always consult an ENT or any general physician and get it cleaned under medical surveillance, which is best advised. Doctors and medical practitioners all around the world have been trying to spread the message of preventing the use of cotton buds for ear cleaning. It is important that the message reach the greater part of the population. Spread it to your family, your closest friends, their friends, and as further, you can reach.

I am 61 diabetic for the last 27 years and on insulin for the last15 years. I have a problem in my right foot. Doctor called it charkoot foot. Is there any treatment for it?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Most foot problems that people with diabetes face arise from two serious complications of the disease: nerve damage and poor circulation. One of the more critical foot problems these complications can cause is charcot arthropathy, which can deform the shape of the foot and lead to disability. Is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch. If you want to stop masturbating do not look at porn & get your mind off of it. If you still get the urge to, ignore it for a about 15 minutes & it'll go away. Masturbating from time to time is completely normal for a guy. Relax and try to concentrate on your studies and/or sports that you are good at. That will help you to avoiding thinking about sex all the time.

Head ache can be of many reasons and the commonest is visual refractive error of eyes, Checking eyes and correcting errors can cure headaches, similarly the cause can be migraine and tension. Tension relieving methods and migraine medication can sure these. Check your eyes first of all and do a blood CBC & TSH and inform me personally This includes the blood vessels, muscles and nerves of the head and neck. They may also result from changes in chemical activity in the brain. Primary headaches can occur when pain-sensitive structures in the head do not work properly. Common primary headaches include migraines, cluster headaches and tension headaches. Headache is a broad term that encompasses many different things. Headaches are pains that occur in any region of the head; they can occur on both sides the head or be isolated to a certain location. Headaches can radiate across the head from a central point or have a pincering vise-like quality. They can be sharp, throbbing or dull, appear gradually or suddenly and last for multiple days or less than an hour.4 There are multiple ways to define headaches. The International Headache Society (IHS) categorize headaches as primary headaches or secondary headaches, depending on what has caused them 1) Primary headaches Primary headaches are stand-alone illnesses caused directly by the overactivity of, or problems with, structures in the head that are pain-sensitive. This includes the blood vessels, muscles and nerves of the head and neck. They may also result from changes in chemical activity in the brain. Primary headaches can occur when pain-sensitive structures in the head do not work properly. Common primary headaches include migraines, cluster headaches and tension headaches. Some types of headache can be both primary and secondary as they may be an isolated issue or a result of another condition or illness. Such headaches can involve:  Direct physical stimuli, such as temperature and external pressure  Pain over the scalp (epicranial)  Physical exertion  Other miscellaneous headaches. 2) Secondary headaches Secondary headaches are headaches that are symptoms of another condition that stimulates the pain-sensitive nerves of the head. There are a vast number of different conditions that can cause secondary headaches, ranging in severity from an alcohol-induced hangover to a brain tumor. Secondary headaches can be the result of serious conditions such as stroke, but can equally be a consequence of eating cold food too quickly. In addition to those two examples, the following list should serve to illustrate the variety of different conditions that can cause secondary headaches:  Blood clots  Brain freeze (ice cream headaches)  Carbon monoxide poisoning  Concussion  Dehydration  Glaucoma  Influenza  Overuse of pain medication (rebound headaches)  Panic attacks  Stroke. As headaches can be a symptom of a serious condition, it is important to seek medical advice if headaches become more severe, regular or persistent. For example, if the headache is more painful and disruptive than previous headaches, worsens or fails to improve with medication or is accompanied by other symptoms such as confusion, fever, sensory changes and stiffness, a doctor should be contacted. Digestive Biscuits - How To Pick The Right One?

Digestive Biscuits - How To Pick The Right One?

There is nothing like dunking a crisp, feather-light biscuit in a hot cup of tea or coffee. It is one of the simplest pleasures life has to offer. In recent days, we are all becoming health conscious and this has given rise to a new breed of digestive biscuits. So, are digestive biscuits really all that healthy? Which one is right for you? Read on and find out.

What’s in a name?

As implied by the name, do digestive biscuits really aid our digestion? Well, these biscuits originated in the 1890’s with a prime motive to help the process of digestion with the use of sodium bicarbonate. They were prepared from course brown bread, sugar, wholemeal, salt, oatmeal, skimmed milk, raising agents and emulsifiers.

You might be eating these biscuits, thinking that they provide you health benefits, but is that true? Here are the factors you should consider in order to pick the right digestive biscuit:

  1. Nutritional profile: Take a look at the ingredients of the digestive biscuit to see whether they have valuable contents that will indeed be healthy. Typically, these biscuits don't fare well when it comes to their nutritional content. They do not have any vitamins or minerals, but they do have proteins and fiber content that can be beneficial. The reduced fat and whole wheat variants can help with weight management and lower the risk of heart diseases. So, it is ideal for whole-wheat flour to be listed as its first ingredient.
  2. Type of biscuit: From the plain old, humble wheat digestives to chocolate, reduced fat and more, digestive biscuits are available in a lot of varieties. Regular digestive biscuits consist of coarse wholemeal wheat flour with added sugar and salt. These qualify as good snacks that can keep the hunger pangs at bay and aid to keep you feeling full. However, if you opt for chocolate digestives, you will be adding more calories.
  3. Watch the sodium content: When chosen right, digestive biscuits with whole wheat are beneficial. They are also good in natural fibers that can help to combat constipation. Another ingredient to watch out for is the sodium or salt content. Typically a serving of two of these biscuits has 160 milligrams of sodium. So, people with high blood pressure must watch out for this and choose right.
  4. Taste and texture: Semi-sweet biscuits with a hint of salt taste the best when it comes to digestive biscuits. Also, a crispy texture is desired without being too dry, crumbly or plastic-like. Always read the back panel to understand its calorie content, fiber, sugar and salt contents as well.

Used alone, creams and ointments that you apply to your skin can effectively treat mild to moderate psoriasis. When the disease is more severe, creams are likely to be combined with oral medications or light therapy. Topical psoriasis treatments include: Topical corticosteroids.

Hello, Some primary headaches can be triggered by lifestyle factors, including: Alcohol, particularly red wine Certain foods, such as processed meats that contain nitrates Changes in sleep or lack of sleep Poor posture Skipped meals Stress Insufficient sleep or rest Overexertion Nutritional deficiencies A secondary headache is a symptom of a disease that can activate the pain-sensitive nerves of the head. Any number of conditions — varying greatly in severity — may cause secondary headaches. Get your blood pressure checked, make a chart. Let me know about the readings, will give you medication accordingly. Also, get eyes tested as headache over the eyebrows is related to your weak eyesight or weak eye muscles. Medication: Meantime, can start with homoeopathic medicine - Bakson's Mig-Aid tablet/ after every 2 hours.
