It could still be a seronegative rhematoid arthritis. You need antiinflammatory drugs and the treatment is usually long term. Consult a good orthopaedician.

Chang you're sitting n sleeping position. Do not take pillow. Apply mahanarayana oil n massage gently. Do fomentation. Do cervical exercises daily. Medicine is also available.

: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Kindly show me a photograph & digital x rays of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). (Excessive sitting or standing is to be avoided as well don’t carry much weight on shoulders). Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. Management: -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Hi lybrate-user do you have any tender point. Pain in any specific movement of elbow or wrist I would advise you to abstain from sports for a few days. Fo hot water fomentation around elbow and review with me after 3 days.

I am 70 years old male. Recently I developed initial stage of oa in left knee and was advised colla cee gs. Dose was 28gms per day. Took for 3/months. My pain reduced by 80%. Doctor said to give gap of 3 months. My question is if this medicine is managing pain or provide lubricant in knee joints? how long it should be take.

Hello, this is Dr. Mathur from new delhi. Welcome to lybrate. Collacee gs basically contains collagen granules and glucosamine which terms to repair the lost cartilage. So it is not a painkiller but tends to increase the lubrication of the joint in a way.

No. Hastproygam/masturbation generally don't cause any weakness or bone pain. It is a habit and not a disease. Concentrate on your work /job and studies. Occasional masturbation is not harmful. If you don't than there can be night fall. Feel free to ask privately with details for more scientific suggestions.

As you feel pain in knees, follow these usefultips for pain relief: * first check out bone mineral density (bmd). In case of low bmd, your calcium level in body are low. So take take calcium rich diet daily. Take a glass (300 ml) of full cream milk daily or 100 gm of cheese or 1-2 eggs regularly. * give a gentle oil massage to knees regularly and wrap your knees with cloth dipped in hot water for atleast 10-15 minutes. * wear knee cap or wrap crape bandage during walk for knee support. * sit atleast for 5-8 minutes in sunlight in morning or evening for vitamind. *avoid heal shoe and wear only flat shoes for balanced load on knees. * check out your blood sugar level and hemoglobin level in every 6 months. * if you have any history of rheumatoid arthritis in family then checkout your ra factor. * take guggalu tablets if himalaya one tablet daily for atleast 3 months. * take a piece of garlic, crush it and boil it a glass of milk and drink daily for fast pain relief.

Hello Lybrate user .as you mentioned your having pain in left upper back. Ther might be few reasons for this it could be bcoz of cervical issue's, could be bcoz of locally muscle around scapula. Third is thorassic outlet syndrome. Do neck movements. If any of neck movements. Increase or decrease the intensity of pain it may bcoz of cervical .if pain remains same then now do shoulder movements .if shoulder movements affectes the intensity of pain either increase or decrease .it may bcoz of shoulder .apply ice pack locally n take NSAID for initially. JOINT & BACK PAIN 1) Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) Start natural calcium supplement. 3) Do regular stretching exercise 4) In yoga DO BHUJANGASAN, HALASAN & SURYANAMASKAR. If there is no bony injury in your back, and it is a muscular strain, then you can do following things: - rest for 5-7 days with no heavy physical activity like lifting weight, travelling for long time, acute bending etc - ice packs should be done intensively 3-4 times in a day - analgesic spray like dynapar qps for 3-4 times after ice packs can be done - short course of anti-inflammatory medications which suits you can be instituted - a good muscle relaxant can be added so that muscle spasm gets relieved let me know in 5-7 days time how your pain is and we can proceed from there on. Tell me Are you taking Tablet Thyronorm? Thyroid function test was done? Neck pain may or may not be related to thyroid problem follow advises given below 1.Avoid using computers continuously, take rest for 5 min after working for half an hour 2.
