Parenting - No soul can replace a mother s emotion!!

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Faridabad
Parenting - No soul can replace a mother s emotion!!

"No soul can replace a mother’s emotion. No individual can bestow the warmth of mother’s lap."

As a hen hatches the egg, we must warm, nourish, protect and feel the divine touch of our baby. In the early 1970s, motivated by problems arising from the shortage of incubators and also the impact of mother and newborn separation, Colombian pediatrician Edgar Rey developed a simple method later named ‘Kangaroo mother care’ (KMC). KMC has three main components including thermal care through continuous skin-to-skin contact by being tied with a cloth to the front usually of the mother; support for exclusive breastfeeding or other appropriate feedings; and early recognition and response to complications. As less number of people
tend to touch your baby, thus reducing the risk of hospital-acquired the infection

From various studies, it has been revealed that there are distinct benefits Celestial Love when babies share a bed with their parents compared to when they sleep in isolation. The physical closeness of your baby at night promotes increased secretion of the hormone prolactin in the mother. This encourages the production of breast milk. The physical proximity of the breast enables your baby to feed easily at night and this will promote optimal nutrition and healthy development. It has been found in a research that, mothers respond more quickly to the baby’s needs. Being physically close to your baby at night sharpens your intuition making you more responsive when your baby is in need.

Babies tend to sleep better and are less likely to wake-up when another person is in touching distance. Comfort and security from co- sleeping help your baby to make the transitions between sleep stages more smooth without waking up. Maternal sleep cycles adapt to those of their babies. With more frequent light sleep cycles, it is easier for you to respond to your baby and then go back to sleep, then it would be to be roused out of deep sleep to deal with a crying, and more distressed baby.

The closeness of your baby is the natural way to regulate the temperature when a baby is close to the mother he can never be cold nor be too hot. Mother is likely to know if the baby has a fever. Close baby contact, warmth, untouched at night helps to promote babies optimal physical and emotional development. Being fully satisfied at night will help your baby develop into an affectionate child with a strong sense of self-worth.

Sharing a bed allows you to enjoy more contact with your baby and helps to alleviate anxiety about absence during the day. Father’s who are absent all day at work, benefit from the physical closeness and skin contact at night and the daily satisfaction of the strong protective instinct they may have for the baby.

To sleep with the baby use a bed big enough for all of you. Position your baby so that, she may not fall or smothered by pillows or bedding. Place her on bed to sleep without pillow. Baby should not be dressed too warmly. Use several light weight blankets. Sleep naked or wear light clothes. Never fall asleep with baby lying on you. Never smoke or sleep drunk. Enjoy your baby’s presence, feel the touch and thank Almighty every moment for his blessings.

Pussy sucking may be harmful for you in two regards. One that if its not in hygenic condition then it may harm you with infection. The second one is due to the fact that licking is super exciting for any female up there, it may reduce the pleasure and sensation while having sex. Its like when we don't touch a place in our body, it is more sensitive and if used again and again, the sensitivity decreases. For this reason it might be harmful for you in future that you may not be able to bring her to orgasm/or same leve of satisfaction with orgasm without your tongue so take due care for that, once in a while it can be considered good but not always. By washing its actually a benefit, and no harm accrues to either her or you.

You need to get a pelvic usg done and I would also suggest a thyroid function tset and possible endometrial biopsy/ hysteroscopy depending on the results of the scan as you are above 40.

Hello, No, it's not normal. Since how long you have been suffering from this problem? Any associated symptoms or complaints? Any medical condition do you have? Have you got your investigations done (if yes, share the reports with me)? Answer all these questions for proper diagnosis and proper treatment. Any nutritional deficiency can also lead to irregularity. Take more of green vegetables, nuts, salads, seasonal fruits, yellow coloured veggies, milk & milk products, plenty of water and enough of sleep & rest. Take homoeopathic medication for your irregular menses – Schwabe's Pulsatilla 200/ once daily for 10 days (not to take during menstrual flow), Schwabe's Five Phos. And Alfaalfa Tonic – both thrice daily for 1 month. There after revert me back..take care.

I do not want to use condom and want sex but I also do not want to be pregnant wat to do.

I do not want to use condom and want sex but I also do not want to be pregnant wat to do.
Ideal for you is oral contraceptive pill if you have regular sex like novelon or femilon to be taken for 21 days in a monthly cycle from Day 2 of menses. Practising safe period is another solution for you but it is not full proof method and highly unreliable. If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26days) minus18days=8th day. The longest cycle (31days) minus 10days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period. That is UNSAFE PERIOD. Period other than this fertile period in a menstrual cycle is considered as SAFE PERIOD.

Hello sir, Me and my wife did many times intercourse but we are failing to make her pregnant. What should I do?
Hello, you must follow the fertile period of your wife when there are highest chances of pregnancy. If her cycles are 28-30 days then intercourse should be undertaken between day 11-day 22 of her cycles. Regards.

Practically it was period and no need to worry about pregnanacy, however theoretically ideally to rule out some rare problems it is always better to consult gynaecologist and if required some investigation.

Firstly your hormonal treatment should be perfect and for that you keep on doing regular consultations and check-ups with your doctor, better, an endocrinologist or a physician with good knowledge of endocrinology. Secondly, you have to perform exercises regularly and may join a gym or better you start playing badminton or table tennis or lawn tennis, which involves exercise, recreation and sport’s talent and creates interest in you while pure exercises are boring. You may also do dancing and swimming. These are also good exercises as well as recreation. Thirdly, diet control or taking balanced diet. Reduce carbohydrates. So, avoid rice, potato and ghuiyan (colocasia). Also reduce wheat. In place take besan’s (gram flour) chapaati. Increase pulses containing proteins. Soyabeen has good amount of proteins. Use soya badi or soya paneer. Use skimmed milk or skimmed milk products. Also avoid meat or fish containing fat and high calories. Prawn are low fat high protein diet. Also decrease overall intake of food. Take lot of salad like cucumber, tomato etc to quench your hunger. Take plenty of low fat green vegetable dishes like loki, tori, shaljam, paalak, mooli, shimla mirch. Also use green tea. Take plenty of water frequently. Avoid sugar or sugared tea or coffee, chocolates, sweets and very sweet fruits like grapes. You may take seasonal fruits like amrood, ev (apple), banana in limited quantities.

Hello Doctor, I am 24 year old female. I have some lumps in my both breasts. I did went through multiple tests and found that they are Fibroadenoma. Is it mandatory to go for a surgery and remove them from my body or simply can I just ignore? Thanks in Advance.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hubli-Dharwad
Let me clearly tell you that finding a lump in breast can be a scary experience but not all lumps in breast are cancerous. Fibroadenoma is non cancerous. It is usually found in female less than 30 years of age it consists of breast tissue and connective (stromal )tissue while most women have single lump ,10-15 %of women have multiple lumps. If you are diagnosed of fibroadenoma it does not necessarily mean it has to be removed. Depending on your physical symptoms ,family history, and personal concerns you along with your doctor can deciede on wether it should be removed now let me tell you the indications in which fibroadenoma is usually removed 1.if it hinders the natural shape of breast 2.if it causes pain 3.if you are concerned about developing cancer 4.if you have a family history of cancer 5.if you have recieved questionable biopsy results.
