Hi 1) immediately stop exercises which are hurting your knee especially lunges 2) always do exercise under supervision of trainer or physiotherapist 3) start physiotherapy sessions, and learn exercise to strengthen your knee joint do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.

I've got a sprain as I got up suddenly from the bed. The sprain is in the lower and middle left back, what should I do?

This seems to be quadratus lumborum spasm. Apply ice pack thrice a day for 20 mins, use bridge pose, setu bandh assan" Hold for 30 secs and relax, repeat 10 times. Your pain and stiffness will be 90%gone.

At the morning at the time of getting up from the bed I found there is a pain from my knee to toe specially all the joints for what it is happening.?

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am 72 years old male. Due to compression in the nerve root of my L5S1 in the lumber spine few years back, a Neurosurgeon laminated it. Still there has not been any significant improvement and still I am having acute pain in lower back. Medicines prescribed me was : Pregabid ME 75, tryptomer 10, etc. Kindly advice me what to do and prescribe me any medicine so that I may be relieved gradually and the pain gets reduce to a bigger extent.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Sir I have a back pain problem till last 3 month what should I do to reduce this pain.

First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Hi, my age is 30/M, I'm getting frequent cough, I feel uneasy full day, headache, body pain. I have left side stomach pain, I have lot of stress, My blood pressure is always 150/100, sometimes there is pain in my right side chest. I'm consuming alcohol almost everyday, 180 ml of whiskey, could nt sleep properly. Stomach does nt get empty in morning, sometimes feels like omitting, kindly HELP!

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg with rantac and For cough take syp ascoril-D 2.5 ml twice a day and For constipation eat food with high fiber content and eat bananas at bedtime and if necessary take two tsp of syp gudlax at night

I am 59 years old suffering from knee pain in my left knee. It troubles me while walking or kneeling.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Sir you meet your Diabetologist / Consultant who is treating you and report your problem. You shall have to exclude any Neuropathy or Myopathy which is a complication of Diabetes. Please do not ignore.

I am having severe back pain. I had an key hole surgery few year back for urinal stone. After that only my back pain is increasing day by day. Wht should I do. Does the anasthaesia have any side effect?

Backache is a common ailment. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don? t ignore, lest it becomes starting point of a major problem. Make sure there is no infection at the site of spinal anesthesia.

Hie bro back pain is of three types. 1) bony pain like spondylosis, kypoais, scholiosis, fracture, injury, pots disease, disc buldge, nerve compression. 2) muscular pain like muscular spasm, myopathy. 3) pathological like pots disease, osteomylasia. 4) physical inactivity. You must differentiate pain via x ray. Start physiotherapy behalf of taking extra pain killers. Or you can go with ayurveda apply mahanarayan tail over affected area and do fomentation with leukowarm water. Eat yograj guggula 1 tds.

I having pain in all joints of my fingers. The pain not stay permanent. This pain reoccur. If I carry heavy loads using fingers, the pain relieves. Can you suggest the reason for this.

Requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Hello Doctor, I'm a software employee and should sit for hours in front of computers. I use laptop for easy use. Everyday while sleeping my right hand thumb is aching and cannot sleep hours during night. Do not know the reason but my relatives are insisting me to stop that job? Pls give a remedy.

Hand exercise dear, you can do it, 1……. Make a Fist Hand and finger exercises can help strengthen your hands and fingers, increase your range of motion, and give you pain relief. Stretch only until you feel tightness. You shouldn't feel pain. Start with this simple stretch: •Make a gentle fist, wrapping your thumb across your fingers. •Hold for 30 to 60 seconds. Release and spread your fingers wide. •Repeat with both hands at least four times. Finger Stretch Try this stretch to help with pain relief and to improve the range of motion in your hands: •Place your hand palm-down on a table or other flat surface. •Gently straighten your fingers as flat as you can against the surface without forcing your joints. •Hold for 30 to 60 seconds and then release. •Repeat at least four times with each hand. Claw Stretch This stretch helps improve the range of motion in your fingers. •Hold your hand out in front of you, palm facing you. •Bend your fingertips down to touch the base of each finger joint. Your hand should look a little like a claw. •Hold for 30 to 60 seconds and release. Repeat at least four times on each hand. Grip Strengthener This exercise can make it easier to open door knobs and hold things without dropping them. •Hold a soft ball in your palm and squeeze it as hard as you can. •Hold for a few seconds and release. •Repeat 10 to 15 times on each hand. Do this exercise two to three times a week, but rest your hands for 48 hours in between sessions. Don't do this exercise if your thumb joint is damaged. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am dr akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. It appears from your history that this is the first episode of such kind, my advise will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication with or without a muscle relaxant which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available.
