First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy basket without bending your back. You may lift the basket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegtable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Yes we have complete relief for backache in physiotherapy. I have specially designed i-care treatment program especially for back or neck pain. I have advice the i-care home treatment to many patients and seen lot of cases. After looking at your pain I am recommending you some precautions and treatment that will be very effective. Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vitamin d from sun as vitamin d keep bones strong including spine. 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the inter vertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. 9. Avoid stress full activity. When pain is less or no pain make a habit of morning walk atleast for 20 minutes to get fresh air in body which is really beneficial to keep fit and healthy. Meditations is an extra advantage along with walk. Physio care: rest required but it doesn't mean a complete bed rest. Do not over exert your body. Work take rest and then work so that you do not feel tired and started paining. Treatment- 1. Apply ice or heat which ever suits you directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 2. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Massage - ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage again relax for 5 min and apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from your pain. While performing exercises if pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Massage or slightly rub the painful area and consult your near by physio to diagnose the actual cause of the pain as he/she can guide you proper exercise plan which will be beneficial for you after checking grade of your back pain.

Carpal tunnel is common in females. Its not paralysis. There is a nerve in wrist which gets compressed and leads to carpal tunnel syndrome. Please get an EMG of both upper limbs if your problem is not getting solved. This test will tell us about nerve compression and decision regarding treatment can be taken.

Hi Doctor, I used to be a soccer player & regular gym goer. But from past 1 year I left both as I suffered from an injury (wrist fracture), the pain of which has still not gone completely. Moving on, recently few months back I decided to start with my soccer once again. But now whenever I step on to the pitch, I come up with some or the other muscle related injury/spasm. Also I am getting muscle spasm/pain even when I am sitting and do sudden activity. My water consumption is almost 2 litres per day. Day by day these small muscle injuries are making me feel weak & old. I am planning to start gaining again. But will that help or will make it worse? Also for your knowledge, nowadays I am spending my whole day sitting in office with very little level of body activity. Thanks. :)

Hello. First Good explanation. See as per your wrist fracture and pain till now. It happens. So don't worry. You should full movement only. Pain will go with slow pace sometimes. Muscle spasm. Do have appropriate water intake protein also. And also stop sitting for long times. Keep changing your posture. As per your previous history of gym. Re-start that ,if you don't have that time for gym. Try go for home exercise like Push-ups, sit-ups. Etc. Go through my page on Facebook-Pulse Physiotherapy Clinic. Try and slowly increase the intensity of your workouts, ask your gym trainer to make you do a longer warm-up before you commence on the exercises. Remember to take lots of fluids like water or even energy drinks to avoid dehydration and also maintain your supply of glucose to burn out in the gym and also help prevent cramping up. If you are having severe pain niw, I would advise you to avoid going to the gym for 4-5 days and slowly resume while doing all of the above. Hope this helps.
