Don’t worry. You can lose weight easily if you are patient and determined to shed those extra kilos. You just have to alter your daily routine, watch what you eat and be physically active. This requires you to be on your weight loss commitment for quiet long. As soon as you start seeing the results, you will be surprised as well as motivated to go beyond your weight loss and adopt and a lifelong healthy attitude. For a start please follow: 1.Watch what you eat – Are you eating too much junk, drink excessive alcohol and eating too much white food and sugar? Please cut it down to as low as you can from tomorrow. Cut down tea/coffee if you are too addicted to it. It is creating havoc inside your body. 2.Lifestyle – Are you a late sleeper and late riser? You can’t imagine what this schedule of yours is doing to your metabolism. It is degrading your digestive system from inside and your looks from outside. 3.Physically active – If you are a couch potato who loves to watch tv whole day then throw that couch of yours in the street and get yourself a treadmill tomorrow. Yes it is as simple as that. Who is stopping you? You have to be physically active all day long if you want to burn those extra calories. Do daily brisk walk, Pranayam, atleast 20 surayanamaskar everyday to start seeing the results. Take break between office work to walk a little or rather just climb some stairs to get that food you ate in lunch have space and heat to digest and absorb. What’s the harm in using your washroom to do a little middle of the day squats. Do that – No one is watching you. The key is to stay physically active all day long, no matter what. 4.Eat healthy and eat on time: Not only eating healthy is important but eating at right time is equally imp too. Have an early breakfast and early dinner and have 4 small meals between breakfast and dinner. To guide you a bit, here you go: A.Breakfast (Between 8-10 a. M) – Have oats/porridge or brown bread with milk and nuts. B.At 11 a. M - Cup of Green Tea c.Mid day meal (around 12 p. M) – Have a bowl of fruits. Citrus fruits are best taken during this hour and absorb well in the body. Have oranges, amla, pineapple etc during this hour. D.Lunch (between 2-3 p. M) – Daal, roti, mix veg, buttermilk and salad. You can also take brown rice with daal in lunch. Try to get your food cooked in olive oil. Lace your salad with apple cider vinegar, black pepper and seeds like flaxseeds or chia seeds to make it nutrition packed lunch. E.Between 4 p. M – 5 p. M – Cup of Green Tea F.Evening (4-6 p. M) – Have some nice sprouts with tomatoes and cucumber. G.Dinner (2 hours before sleeping, preferably before 9 p. M) – Paneer & veggies salad with olive oil, Roti or brown rice with Daal. H.Have a glass of warm milk. Weight loss is 80% about what you eat and 20% about exercises. That said, both the things go hand in hand. If you want to lose weight in a more healthy way than be patient and just follow the regimen everyday. Slow and steady wins the race.

Hello, as you are having psoriasis, psoriasis is genetic disorder triggered due to stressful conditions and irregular life style. We are treating psoriasis using ayurvedic medicines. Psoriasis has three stages. First stage is when disease remain on skin and there are scaly patches. Second stage comes when there is pitting on nails and in last stage it enter the joints and there is pain in small joints. Generally patient use steroidal application on patches which give temporary relief and disease reappear after 2/3 days. In severe cases methotrexate is used which is not a safer option and is liver toxic. Ayurveda has got a complete remedy for psoriasis. It is a safer option and can be used for longer duration without any side effects. Ayurvedic external application give very quick results with sun exposure in clearing the scales and internal treatment does not allow the disease to re appear. Psoriasis is a manageable disease and can be managed with ease and effectively using ayurveda. You should use 3 gms of haldi with milk helps in psoriasis patients.

Hi lybrate-user More and more people are becoming victims to unhealthy living due to lack of time to completely focus on themselves. However, the best jobs or houses won’t mean anything if you aren’t in the best of health to enjoy the perks that come with them. Health is wealth, and if you don’t take proper care of yourself in the present, then there could be a problem for you in the long run. If you are looking for ways on how to maintain good health, there are three important things to look into. Eating healthy, eating well Nutrients- One of the most important ways to maintain good health is by eating well and eating the right food. This means consuming food that is filled with minerals, vitamins and all the other nutrients that are essential for the body. Some of the things you need to do include having a healthy breakfast, savor every bite and eat slowly and avoid in-between snacks. Fiber- To ensure you are getting the right nutrients increase your vegetable intake, add salads to your daily meals, and switch to a fruit for snacking instead of chips or other unhealthy snacks. For boosting your fiber consumption, opt for wholegrain, seeded or wholesome bread instead of white bread. You can also choose to add fruits to your breakfast cereal to make it more wholesome. Meats- Meat eaters who are looking to stay healthy without giving up their intake of meat should choose lean meat cuts and poultry. It is also advisable to trim off the skin and fat from the meat to keep it healthy. Additionally, you should also include healthy accompaniments with your meat like low fat yogurt, avocado, low fat margarine or mayonnaise. Remember to opt for monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats, and stay away from high fat meat products like bacon, salami, ham and sausages. Water- Along with eating the right foods, you should also look into your water consumption. Ensure you always have a bottle of water within your reach, whether you’re sitting at your work desk or travelling anywhere. You can also add some mint leaves or lemon juice to a jug of chilled water for added flavor if you like. Avoid- An important part of knowing how to maintain good health, is understanding what foods you should avoid. Sugar is one of those things that you need to avoid if you want to maintain healthy eating habits. You don’t have to completely cut out sugar from your diet, but you can gradually decrease your intake by reducing the amount of sugar in your tea or coffee, choosing diet sodas or drinks that do not have added sugar. When it comes to snacks, opt for fruits over chocolates, cakes and biscuits. Get your daily dose of exercise Another essential factor in knowing how to maintain good health is daily exercise. Whether it is walking, jogging, running, swimming or cycling, adding about 30 to 40 minutes of exercise to your daily routine can work wonders for your health. Not only does exercise help you shed weight and keep you fit but it also improves your lungs and heart health, reduces stress, decreases blood pressure and enhances flexibility, co-ordination and balance. While cardio workouts are great for reducing weight and toning muscles, they are not the only form of exercise you can choose. You can also opt for yoga or pilates, or for a more interesting take on exercise, sign up for dance classes. Dancing is a great way to keep fit and it can help you learn something new and meet people. To make exercising more fun, you can alternate between different forms of exercise, to prevent you from getting bored.

Some initial courage is needed, when one has to end any sort of black-mailing. Facing the ill -effect is better than continuous blackmailing, which is like slow poison. You explain it to him that you wish to end it on a happy note. If he is more keen on exploitation tell him, it will also be him and his family, who will have there pride at stake as well. Lastly life never stops, you will eventually find another way. At this time and age, one should not consider it as a fault, despite the social conditioning. Remember you have done nothing wrong, you have a right to say yes and no whenever you want and your family will be more troubled if you carry on with this forceful relationship

IN HYPOTHYROIDISM:--- where there is deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving thyroxine tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Go for walk, Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. flax oil, Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, avoid oily foods,junk foods, go for walk. Do Tests every 3 to 6 months. And consult doctor on time.

Please follow the below recommendation for your condition: Diet, exercise, and behavioral modification should be included in all obesity management approaches for body mass index (BMI) of 25 kg/m 2 or higher. Other tools, such as pharmacotherapy for BMI of 27 kg/m 2 or higher with comorbidity or BMI over 30 kg/m2 and bariatric surgery for BMI of 35 kg/m2 with comorbidity or BMI over 40 kg/m 2, should be used as adjuncts to behavioral modification to reduce food intake and increase physical activity when this is possible. first of all don't get irritated. Everybody in this world has gone through this problem. Just relax. Wash your face daily thrice a day with water mixed with lime and little salt. Keep your eyes closed while washing your face or else your eyes with burn. Wipe your face with soft towel and do not rub it hard. Do not burst your pimples. They will go away automatically. Keep your mind cool and focus on your studies which is going to help you forever. Drink lots of water and juices or chaas. Drink coconut water at least once a day. Keep your eyes closed for 10 mins in a day whenever you get time and relax. Let the thoughts come and go. You just keep your eyes closed. Keep 2 slices of cucumber over your eyes when you are relaxing. Eat healthy indian food like dal, rice, curd, 2 rotis without ghee and 1 vegetable with less oil and spice. Do not have spicy, oily food especially junk food like fries, fried pakodas, samosas or vadas. Eat light, eat simple, eat healthy and you will see the magic. Relax, don't worry, everything is going to be beautiful in your life, nothing will go wrong without your permission.

You most probably are suffering from oa of knee. Knee surgery-total knee replacement (tkr) is quite safe & gives uniformly good results, in our hands. We have well equipped centers in delhi. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Surgery should be done when patient is still active & will be able to take benefit of surgery. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Kindly show me x rays before a final decision can be taken. You will be thoroughly investigated before surgery is under taken.

Hii. I am 20 year old girl my breast size is very small and also I am underweight, my height is 5'3" and weight 42kg. I have two questions that is - 1. Underweight does not allow to grow breast size? First of all you need a medical check up if there is disease like hypothyroidism or any other health problem. And do regular exercise like yoga, push up, sit up, squat. Lying butt bridge, swimming, skipping. Do not use sugar, sweetened juice, cola beverages, soft drinks as these turns into fat. Instead you take whole fruits, watery vegetables. These will help you to reduce fat. Use whole wheat, whole grain, brown rice, brown bread, oats. Eat small amount of food. Do not skip meals. Use more protein foods like fish. Egg white, lean meat, peanut butter, cottage cheese, soy milk, soybean, soy products, tofu, mushroom. Take nuts and seeds. Use dates, yogurt. Use healthy fat. Use coconut oil in cooking for weight loss. Drink lots of water specially before meals. Use lukewarm water after meals. Use lukewarm water with lemon juice on an empty stomach in the morning. Take quality sleep.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I had had my last periods on 24th oct. I got married on 21st Nov 16, and still on current date I haven't had periods. I have done pregnancy check also few days back, bt it came negative. Please tell me the possible reasons, is there any possibility that m pregnant?

Take the following treatment - 1. Take 4 tablespoon of aloevera juice with one tablespoon of honey after dinner. 2. Take 4 tablespoon amla juice + 2 tablespoon honey on an empty stomach in the morning. 3. Take chandraprabhavati 2 tablets twice a day. 4. Avoid junk, bakery & spicy food. 5. Maida is very harmful for body, so avoid it. 6. Have all your meals on time. 7. Drink lots of water 8. Fruits rich in vitamin c and green leafy vegetables help in acne.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation.
