Thyroid disease is the cause for not gaining weight and need to treat it . Take high protein and calorie diet and do exercises

Hi, You might have got habituated to it. Try to control the urge immediately after the meals, if you have passed normal motions in the morning. Take tab. Avipattikara 1 tsb. 3 times a day, after food, for about a week.

Hi try to loose weight 45 minutes of strenous exercise should be done every day 30 minutes of brisk walking to be done avoid oily spicy food fatty foods should not be taken no ghee butter cream ,use saffla or olive oil. Eat lot of fibres in your diet eat vegetables in your diet do not take egg yolk or red meat.

The TSH was 7-8 (3-4 years back) I was prescribed Thyroxine 75 OD but unfortunately I discontinued it 2 years back. Now these days, I felt overweight (100 Kg / 5' 10.5' Hight) and less energy so I get the test again by self. The results were. 27/Sep/16 T3 94 (Ref: 60 - 200) T4 3.1 (Ref: 4.5 - 12.0) TSH 18.92 (Reff: 0.30 - 5.5) I met my doctor and he advised to continue with Thyroxine 75 OD. Later after one month I get these tests done again. 7/Nov/16 T3 94 (Ref: 60 - 200) T4 6.2 (Ref: 4.5 - 12.0) TSH 7.45 (Reff: 0.30 - 5.5) I was advised to get Lipid profile as well, so reports are. TOTAL CHOLESTEROL 190 mg/dl (Ref: 125 - 200) HDL CHOLESTEROL - DIRECT 30 mg/dl (Ref: 35-80) TRIGLYCERIDES 506 mg/dl (Ref: 25 - 200) LDL CHOLESTEROL - DIRECT 100 mg/dl (Ref: 85 - 130) VLDL CHOLESTEROL 101.12 mg/dl (Ref: 5 - 40) TC/ HDL CHOLESTEROL RATIO 6.3 Ratio (Ref: 3.0 - 5.0) LDL / HDL RATIO 3.3 Ratio (Ref: 1.5 - 3.5) NON-HDL CHOLESTEROL 159.7 mg/dl (Ref: < 160) Please suggest if I am suffering from something serious. However I have started walk for 1-2 KM every evening.

No need to worry about these medical results. First of all try to take a curative treatment for your thyroid problems. Do not worry about High triglycerides. It will come down gradually with some simple medicines. Do regular exercise and follow low fatty diet habits. Include more salads in your plate. Avoid fluorine products from your day to day activities. (eg. High flourine Tooth paste, etc)

For gaining weight Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong, chana,Dal, rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit.

All About Fenugreek Seeds

How fenugreek works?

Fenugreek seeds are rich in soluble fibre, which may help to lower the blood glucose level through delayed gastric emptying and slowed carbohydrate absorption. The amino acid contained in the seeds may also directly stimulate insulin secretion and reduce insulin resistance. Fenugreek may also increase the number of insulin receptors in red blood cells and improve glucose utilization in peripheral tissues.

How to use?

Take a teaspoonful of fenugreek seeds and soak in water the overnight. Eat these soaked in the morning. These seeds can taste bitter but over time you can adjust to them. Drink all the water and chew up the soaked seeds. You may need more water to push them down.

The bitter taste of fenugreek seeds can be minimized by toasting them, adding honey or buying de-bitterized seeds. Powdered seeds can also be useful. 

The usual dose of fenugreek seeds is 5 to 30 grams with each meal or 15 to 90 grams all at once with one meal.


What are the effects of fenugreek seeds on diabetes?

In type ii diabetes, adding fenugreek seeds to a meal decreases the increase in blood glucose after the meal. Fenugreek seeds show improved blood glucose control and insulin function. It reduces the fasting blood glucose in both type I and ii diabetes.

Dyslipideamia and heart disease are common in diabetics. Fenugreek seeds promote heart health and help in lowering blood cholesterol levels.

What are the side effects of fenugreek seeds?

Fenugreek seeds are completely safe when used in moderation. Nausea, abdominal discomforts like diarrhea and/or gas are few minor side effects which usually subside after a few days of use. When used topically on skin watch for skin irritation and rashes. These seeds are not recommended in pregnancy, as it causes uterine contraction.

Tanvi, kindly update more about your health issues in terms of LMP, pain duration and flow of you last 3 episodes of menses, and also about white discharge if any. For now take the medicine Pulsatilla 200 once daily and stop the medicine on expected day of menses.

Ask her to reduce weight by controlling diet and tell her to have 1 cup of milk if it suits her. The noise is due to the loss of lubricating fluid inside the joint. A proper Xray will show the grade of degeneration and Range of motion estimate will help the doctor to give correct course of treatment.

I will say you something very reasonable that, "ANYTHING IN EXCESS IS POISON" So whether it is noodles or maggie or outside food or home-made food eaten out of limit daily, is definitely going to harm us. So avoid it on daily basis. Once or twice in a month is alright but not more than it. Take care. :)

These are the causes of white hair: • Stress • Due to medicines • Due to malnutrition • Use of chemical products • Due to pollution For prevention from whitening of hairs follow these instructions: • Do not take stress and take proper sleep of 6 - 7 hours. Do meditation or long breathing pranayams for 10 minutes daily to destress yourself. • You can apply amla powder, Make the paste of amla powder with water and apply it for 15 minutes once in week in afternoon and rinse it. • Avoid use of excess hair products such as hair colours and try to use mild shampoo. • Add protein containing items in your foods such as take a bowl of cereal daily, and a glass of milk also. You can eat cheese or soya protein. • Eat healthy fruits and green leafy vegetables daily. • you can use mahabhringraj oil and apply it 3 times in a week massage your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes daily. You can massage daily with oil it increase blood circulation and prevent hair from greying. • Avoid the use of products such as hair colours or excessive shampoo. •In a bowl, mix two eggs, honey and some coconut oil. You can also use olive oil instead of coconut oil. Apply it on your scalp and leave it for 20 minutes, then rinse with a mild shampoo. • Practice SARVANGASAN and BHRAMARI PRANAYAM daily for atleast 3-4 months.

Dear Mr. Lybrate-user, as you have already turned almost 19 years of age, I would like to tell you that increasing height at this age is difficult but not impossible also, you only have around 1or 2 last years in hand to improve your height because the epiphyseal plates of your long bones generally fuse completely by the age of 23-25 in most of the people, but by taking homeopathic height booster (best thing is that it has no side effects) you can increase your height maximum by 2-3 inches at this age. You can also consult a homeopathic doctor in your city to help you with this problem!

Both tab are diuretics and try to crush stone in kidney. Max water should be drunk. It's not clear whether stone is at lower or upper calyx. Kalmi shora, yav kshar etc should be additionally taken though it's in tabs too. Get advise of a qualified vaidya. First of all check your mother posture when she lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Liquor has excess carbohydrates which get stored as fat in the body if not converted to energy by exercise / walks. It is also referred to empty calories as there is no nutrition associated with liquor. Sugar is another thing which is referred to as empty calories.
