Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Since target levels of blood glucose are not reached, higher dosage of drugs might have been suggested. You may try that. However, there are other options available for achieving better blood glucose control, which may be tried. One is a strict dietary control, second is regular exercise of over 1 hour every day, increased intake of green leafy vegetables and salads and reduce starchy food intake. Then there are other medications also. Since you are already consulting the specific doctor so it is better to follow his guidelines. If you want me to guide then will have to come in a private conversation with following details: FBG, PP, HbA1c%, present dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise, then I will be able to guide. Thanks.

See main reason of hair fall & hair damage is due to infection in scalp skin, which easily goes into hairs follicles & causes hair fall, thinning of hairs, for control on hair fall you have to control on dandruff and infection. So if you want cure. Consult privately.

Freckles - 6 Ways You Can Handle Them!

Freckles - 6 Ways You Can Handle Them!

Freckles are not always unwanted. While some people can't stand them, a few people find them cute. However, everybody loves clear skin and to achieve that it is essential to bid farewell to freckles. Freckles are tiny brown spots that are caused by an increased production of melanin in the skin cells.

People with sensitive skin are more prone to freckles than others. If you're looking for a way to get clearer skin, here are a few remedies to help you deal with freckles:

  1. Use sunscreen: The first step towards fighting freckles is to prevent them. Freckles are a result of exposure to the sun and hence using a good sunscreen every day is a must. Choose a sunscreen that fights both UVA and UVB rays. The more your exposure to the sun, the higher the amount of SPF needed.
  2. Bleach them with lemon juice: Lemon juice is the best form of natural bleach. Apply freshly squeezed juice or bottled lime juice onto the skin and leave for 15*20 minutes. Do this twice a day to see your freckles fade. Along with bleaching the skin, the citric acid also helps tighten the skin and makes you look younger.
  3. Increase your intake of vitamin C: Vitamin C helps lighten the skin. Apart from the limes and lemons, kiwis, tomatoes, bell peppers and papaya are good sources of vitamin C.
  4. Use sour milk and sour cream: Sour milk and sour cream contain lactic acid that inhibits melanin production and lighten the skin. Wash your face with sour milk three to four times a day. You may rinse your face with water a little while after each sour milk wash. Apply the sour cream on your face as a mask and leave on for 15*20 minutes. This will help your skin absorb the lactic acid.
  5. Mask them with honey: Apply a mixture of honey and warm water over the freckles. Let it sit for a while and then rinse with lukewarm water. Follow this by rinsing your face with cold water. Alternatively, you could try a mask of honey and yogurt. Leave this mask on for at least half an hour.
  6. Try a fruit peel: Along with eating them, you could also put fruit directly on your skin to fight freckles. Blend fruits like strawberries, papaya, pineapple and cucumber and apply it on your face. As it dries the top layer of skin sticks to the fruit and is peeled off. With repeated use, you will notice your freckles fade away.

If none of this works, you could also try skin lightening creams or chemical peels and laser freckle removal. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

I am 53 years old. I am diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). My Autonomic Nervous System is deeply impaired and there is a lot of cardiac imbalance in terms of heart rate and BP regulations. I suffer from regular Hyperventilation attacks. There is constant chest / heart discomfort with deep breathing problems. Is there any cardiac and respiratory check-ups I have to undergo and what is the risk from these two critical systems?

I am 53 years old. I am diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).
My Autonomic Nervous System is deeply impaired ...
Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a combination of symptoms that affect both the autonomic nervous system (the part of the nervous system that controls involuntary action such as blood pressure or digestion) and movement. Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a rare, degenerative neurological disorder affecting your body's involuntary (autonomic) functions, including blood pressure, breathing, bladder function and muscle control. MSA Life Expectancy (Prognosis) and Outlook. Prognosis is currently guarded. While multiple system atrophy patients have been reported to live as long as 18 years, most MSA patients passing away from the disorder or its complications within 9 years of diagnosisThe initial symptoms of MSA are often difficult to distinguish from the initial symptoms of Parkinson's disease and include: slowness of movement, tremor, or rigidity (stiffness) clumsiness or incoordination. Impaired speech, a croaky, quivering voice. Certain complications of Ms. do exist and include: Muscle complications such as stiffness and spasms. Paralysis. Bowel, bladder, or sexual dysfunction. Changes in mental status (forgetfulness, mood swings, depression and others) Epilepsy. Osteoporosis - a condition where the bones become weak and fragile. Pressure sores. Prognosis. MSA usually progresses more quickly than Parkinson's disease. The average remaining lifespan after the onset of symptoms in patients with MSA is 7.9 years. Almost 80% of patients are disabled within five years of onset of the motor symptoms, and only 20% survive past 12 years.

Dear Dr. Sir, Please let me know generic vitamin tonic for knee pain. Thank you.

Dear Dr. Sir, Please let me know generic vitamin tonic for knee pain. Thank you.
Sir, at your age it would be osteo-arthritis of knees. It is age related degenerative disease of bones so'generic vitamin' would be of no use. Rather than it please do regular massage over knees with any herbal pain reliever oil (lukewarm) at least two times a day followed by hot fomentation. This will increase the lubrication in the joint, your flexibilty will be improved and pain will also subside. Continue this for atleast 10 days. Avoid crossed leged sitting. Please update with your feedback.
