Doctor, my friend use to smoke and use panparags and cool lips for a long time. What consequences do he have to face later?

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Lybrate-userji. Smoking and using panparags (tobacco or lime containing substances) are directly related to causation of multiple medical and psychological problems. In medical problems he might land up with oral submucous fibrosis, multiple vtamin deffieciences, leukoplakias which are precursors to oral cancer. Smoking as you might be knowing can also cause bronchial asthmas, chronic obstructive airway diseases and even lung cancers. The list is endless. Even if he might not land up in any of these, he is always at a risk if he continues to smoke or consume eatables with nicotine and lime.

Regular massaging the scalp for a few minutes every day with lukewarm oil will lead to stimulation of blood flow to the scalp. Coconut oil helps in controlling hail fall. Other recommended oils are: Jojoba oil, almond oil, mustard oil, lavender oil. Jojoba oil is especially good because it replaces the sebum in the scalp. It also helps to control dandruff.

I have black spots and pimples on my face and other body part what I have to do and what are the precautionary measures.
These are the methods to treat pimples - •Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your face again & again because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Mix black pepper powder in some water to make paste & apply on the pimples three times a week. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTSHODHAK syrup of BAIDYANATH company once a day after meals Be healthy.

Hello- you have to correct your daily schedule and diet to prevent hair fall. A) avoid late night workout and go to bed before 10 pm, as root follicles become dry if you wake up late night. B) avoid fast food and spicy diet. C) avoid chemical shampoo (use shampoo as less as you can) and dye etc. D) increase milk and cows ghee in your diet. E) use mahabhringraj hair oil instead of almond oil and narsimha rasayana 1 tsp twice daily. Your hair fall will stop in few weeks and your hair will become thick and strong.

Hi, Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i. E. Cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Prevention: -Take healthy food only and avoid unhealthy ones (although sebaceous glands are not excretory glands then as well!) as what you eat is reflected on your face! -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension as it encourages secretion of stress hormone in the body as thus affects skin or any other tissue of the body. -Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water in a day. -Take 6-8hrs. Of sound sleep everyday. -Don't use others towels, handkerchief on your face as well as never share yours. -Never ever rub your face as it damages the skin (even towel should be dab on skin softly) and break outs of acne get worsened! -Maintain hygiene, wash your face 2-3times in a day, changes the pillow covers, bed sheet daily, use cotton bed sheet only (try to sleep on your back). Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 30 days.

Hi sir, I wants to enlarge my breast like female, but without any surgery can you help me.

Advanced Aesthetics, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Indore
Breast Enlargement is one of the most frequently performed surgeries and we are the pioneers in central India since last 30 years. To the best of our knowledge no medicines or creams work to increase the breast Size. Enlargement can be done with fat grafting or silicone breast implants. Breast enlargement. Silicone implants are the gold standard world over, very short operative procedure with very gratifying results. The creams and capsules have never actually worked, but since every one is not immediately ready for surgery so the companies use these gimmicks to market their products. If there is lack of substance then augmentation with a silicone implant is the best choice and a gold standard procedure. It is a day care procedure and you are discharge in a very short time from the hospital and it brings about an instant change in breast size and self esteem. Almost 10 crore implants are in use and so it is extremely safe. No one wants surgery unless it is necessary. There is no medication to give the results. No one wants surgery unless it is necessary. NO Creams or Pills actually work except psychologically. Surgery is the only answer. The surgery is almost painless because there are enough medications to keep the pain under control. There is no natural way to increase Breast size, except that after child birth the size may become and remain bigger.

The Long and Short of Penile Extenders

The Long and Short of Penile Extenders

The long and short of penile extenders

Researchers say most men who seek longer penises don't really know the long and short of their situation.
One noninvasive technique to lengthen penises— penile traction devices — shows promise, according to a new review of research. But researchers say most men who seek longer penises don't really know the long and short of their situation.
"Penile size is a matter of great interest among men who are affected by 'short penis syndrome' or just believe themselves to have a small penis, even though the dimensions of the organ fall within the normal range," write urologists Marco Oderda and Paolo Gontero in the current issue of the British Journal of Urology International.
Oderda and Gontero, both from the University of Turin, Molinette Hospital, in Italy, concluded that for those men who have a normal-size penis yet persist in requesting treatment, penile extenders may be the way to go. Cognitive behavioral therapy may also be useful for building confidence in these men with psychological issues causing the mismatch between reality and what's in their head, they write.

What works
Several nonsurgical methods for lengthening the penis, such as penile traction gadgets, vacuum devices, penoscrotal rings and even "physical exercises," have been popularized in the media.
To get a real picture of the science on such devices, the researchers did an extensive search for studies on the topic of "short penis" and associated treatments, ending up with just 10 studies that met their criteria.
Based on one study, vacuum devices got a failing mark, showing no significant penile elongation after six months of therapy, though the researchers of that study noted it provided psychological satisfaction for some men. Penile-lengthening exercises also had no science backing up their effectiveness.
The few well-conducted studies on penile extenders, which use mechanical traction to progressively elongate the penis, showed these devices can produce an "effective and durable lengthening of the penis," the researchers write.
For instance, a small study published in 2002 in the International Journal of Impotence Research showed a penis stretcher could add 0.7 inches (1.8 centimeters) on average to the sex organ after four months of use for at least six hours a day. The extender device showed promise in another study with six months of use for at least four hours a day. And the Golden Erect extender was shown to increase penis length in participants of a study published in 2010 in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
Who's seeking treatment?

Many men who are concerned with their penis's small stature suffer from "dysmorphophobia," a condition where people see some imaginary flaw in physical appearance as real — in this case a false perception of penis inadequacy, the researchers say.
And apparently this male body-image problem is on the rise. According to LiveScience's Bad Medicine columnist, Christopher Wanjek, "Many men long to have something longer, even though few have a penis that is too small to copulate or pleasure their partner. This anxiety over size is called penile dysmorphophobia, and it is on the rise worldwide as men turn to pornography and compare notes."
Urologist Nicola Mondaini of the University of Turin in Italy agreed, telling LiveScience "this trend is increasing."
That said, penile shortening is a real medical phenomenon and can be caused by so-called a radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, Peyronie's disease (an acquired penile deformity of the erect penis) and as a result of embryonic or developmental defects. In addition, a so-called "hidden penis," caused by obesity, aging with an overlying fold of abdominal fat and skin, and a shortage of penile skin from circumcision, for instance, can also "shorten" the penis.
As for how prevalent penile dysmorphophobia is, in one study published in the International Journal of Impotence Research in 2002, 67 men with a median age of 27 came to the university hospital in Italy within a two-year period complaining of having a short penis. None of the patients fell into the category of a short penis; in other words, all were of normal size.
Sixty percent of the men said their feeling of inadequacy down there started in childhood when they noticed their friends were more endowed. Fifty-seven of these patients thought a normal penis length was somewhere between 3.9 and 6.7 inches. (10 and 17 cm). The others didn't know what "normal length" was. These results suggest penis lengthening is not the answer, the researchers pointed out in that study.
One of the largest penis-size studies involved more than 3,000 men and found similar results – that most men seeking size enhancement were within the normal size range and overestimated the average penis size. That study was published in the International Journal of Impotence Research in 2002.
So what's normal you ask? Anything greater than 1.6 inches (4 cm) flaccid and greater than 3 inches (7.5 cm) in a stretched or erect state. As for the average penis size, numbers vary depending on the study, but Mondaini says: 3.5 inches (9 cm) flaccid, 4.5 inches (12.5 cm) stretched and 5.9 inches (15 cm)

Is it possible to increase height after puberty? Any medicine or any gym workout or anything which can help me to get...
We all are aware of the fact that our height increases up to a particular age and then it comes to a halt. Height increases up to the age of 18years in women and up to the age of 20 years in men. Increase in height is attributed to the production of growth hormone, called the HGH( Human Growth Hormone), which is secreted by the pituitary gland called the master gland of our body. It is rather difficult to increase height after reaching adulthood as the production of these hormones slowly stops. In most cases, the epiphyses of the long bones are fused as the last bits of cartilaginous tissue in the bones turn into solid hard bones. This prevents any further growth in longer bones. However, if the hormones are released naturally, increase in height can be observed. Increase in height at your age depends upon a no. of factors like 1.Heriditary factor 2.Recorded any increase in height in last 6 months 3.Amount of effort you are putting in for increase in height 4.How much serious are you for your height 5.Will you give 100% if I show you a direction 6.Just do your bit with full determination and leave the rest to time, exercises and medicines. My baby is 6months old. Between how much gap should I feed other semisolid food. For good health and weight gain.
Hi lybrate-user, 6 months is perfect age to introduce semisolid diet. Usually the gap between 2 meals should be minimum 3hours but still it all depends upon child's demand coz some kids may not even eat for a duration of 4hrs after last meal or some may require feeds every 2hrs. But one thing I will strictly advise never force feed your child. Every meal time should be very relaxed so you can see your child growing happily and confident even.
