Dear lybrate user please try to bring some change in your lifestyle like waking up early in the morning and going for a walk, doing some exercises. You can also join some gym. I would suggest that you start maintaining a daily diary. Write your thoughts and associated feelings there. Try to reflect upon the reasons for these negative thoughts. Whenever these thoughts crop up in your mind try to distract yourself. Most important suggestion is that along with these medicines you please start consulting a psychologist and take up regular one on one counseling sessions. I hope you will benefited from the above mentioned suggestions and try to apply them in your life. Please feel free to give your feedback. Take care.

Swine flu (swine influenza) is a respiratory disease caused by viruses (influenza viruses) that infect the respiratory tract of human beings. It is an infection caused by any one of several types of swine influenza viruses. Swine influenza virus is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs. The known strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H2N1, H3N2 and H2N3.

Causes Top

The cause of swine flu is an influenza A virus type designated as H1N1. It has this designation or name because of the two major antigens (H and N) detectable on its surface by immunological techniques (H or hemagglutinin and N or neuraminidase).

Those at higher risk of catching it in general include those with the following:

Age of 65 years or older
Chronic health problems (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease)
Pregnant women
Young children

Symptoms Top

Symptoms of swine flu are similar to most influenza infections or are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing.

Some people have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Symptoms may include all or some of the following : Fever (100 F or greater), cough, nasal secretions, fatigue, headache, sore throat muscle pains, lethargy, runny nose and weakness. Some patients also get nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite and diarrhea.

Some patients develop severe respiratory symptoms and need respiratory support (such as a ventilator to breathe for the patient). Patients can get pneumonia (bacterial secondary infection) if the viral infection persists, and some can develop seizures. Death often occurs from secondary bacterial infection of the lungs.

Environmental Factors Responsible Top

Season – Seasonal incidence is striking, epidemics of swine flu usually occurring in winter months in the northern hemisphere and in the winter or rainy season in the southern hemisphere.

Overcrowding – It enhances transmission. The attack rates are high in close population groups such as schools, institutions, metro stations, hospitals.

Mode of Transmission Top

Swine flu spreads mainly from person to person by droplet infection or droplet nuclei created by sneezing, coughing , talking , touching infected objects, touching nose, mouth and / or eyes with infected hands. The portal of entry of the swine flu virus is the respiratory tract.

Complications Top

Pneumonia
Bronchitis
Sinus infections
Ear infections
Death

Prevention Top

Good ventilation of public buildings.
The avoidance of crowded places during epidemics.
Encouraging sufferers to cover their faces with a handkerchief or mask when coughing and sneezing.
And to stay home at the first sign of Influenza (Cough, cold, sneezing, weakness and so on).
Wash hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

I got Jaundice on 18 Nov when bilirubin was 5.10 and typhoid as the report says. Went to Doctor on 04th December as I wasn't feeling sick, it was just that my eyes was yellowish. On 4 the doctor took my blood samples and said I got Obstructive jaundice with total bilirubin showing 20.5, direct as 15.3, indirect 5.2 And also on the next day he advised me to do Ammonia test, Viral card test and sonography. The reports of sonography and ammonia was normal. On 7 my report of viral card came showing Anti HBe Antibody - Non Reactive (1.99) Anti HBs (total) - Reactive (484.48) Anti HCV Antibody - Non Reactive (0.084) HAV IgM antibody - Reactive (7.51) HBC IgM - Negative (0.0) HBC Total -Negative (2.26) HBE Antigen. -Non Reactive (0.329) Hepatitis Marker -Non Reactive (0.675) Profile. And showing total bilirubin 18.8 Direct as 12.17 and indirect as 12.17 After which the doctor said I had hepatitis A and B. And kept me admitted for a week so that my bilirubin decreases. After I got discharge at a bilirubin of 13.5 on 10th Dec and was advised to be in home with regular medicines and in a complete bed rest. He advise me to do MRCP test and consult to gastroenterology. Later I went on 29dec to a specialist and sonography and bilirubin showing 4.3 while normal in sonography. As the last reports of 28.01. 2016 the bilirubin was 1.5 and my other new doctor (gastroenteritis) says no need to do any more tests, like MRCP or any Hepatitis Test as said by him that I was having Hep A and not Hepatitis B At present moment, my weight is 52kg. I am Going to my college, should I need to worry about any of this Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B? Can I start eating healthy food with Masala, Meat, Eggs, Cheese, etc etc? Your vision will fluctuate in diabetes if your sugar levels are fluctuating. In cases of mvp. The treating doctors evaluates you for risk of stroke and starts prophylactic treatment as and when required. Signs of eminent stroke are technically called tias or transient ischaemia attacks. This means small blood clots that form around your diseased heart valve enters your blood circulation and brain and temporarily blocks a small blood vessel. Depending on area of brain affected you will have symptoms as long as the circulation is compromised. Usually a few seconds to minutes. It could be transient blurring of vision, difficulties in speech or movement of a particular part of body. These blood clots can be readily detected on echo of your heart. I if you r a apprehensive about it. Please discuss with your treating doctor. Reading online about diseases can be scarier than actual reality.

Too much cholesterol in the blood can lead to cardiovascular disease. What you eat has a direct impact on your cholesterol level. In fact, a diet rich in fiber and other cholesterol-lowering foods may help lower cholesterol as much as statin medication for some people. Working with a registered dietitian and doctor is the key to develop and maintain a successful health program to manage it. I will inform you on how to make diet, lifestyle changes, make you understand instructions for taking medication because it won't work if you don't take it as directed. Consult privately for a holistic dietary therapy to solve your problems.

Men rarely have a perfectly straight penis. Some bend left, right, up or down. And some point in the direction of left, right, up or down. As long as the bend isn't so severe as to keep you from having sex, or to have sex the way you and your partner want to, it's probably just a normal bend. That said, if it gets in the way of your sex life or if the bend developed after some sort of trauma (like getting kicked or having a ball slam into your genitals during sports or after a sex injury), you might want to speak with a urologist. Some severe bends can be treated with injections or other available treatments. But again, most of the time a slight bend is nothing to worry about or have treated. Some men even find that their "bend" helps them to stimulate their partner in unique ways, so be creative!

MBBS
General Physician,
Is Sarcoidosis a serious illness and what is the most effective treatment for this.
Hi, Thanks for your question on Lybrate I do understand your concern "As" per your clinical history it is not a serious disease but organ damage is possible and it has no cure at all. Now at present Corticosteroid is the first line medication for this condition both orally as well as cream .TNF Alpha can be tried in some cases and organ transplant is required for liver and lungs. Hope that helps.
