You can have apple, guava and papaya.. Not more than 1 per day.. If your diabetes is well controlled, you can have any fruit in small amount..

What is the ideal diet and work out for diabetic patient who wants to avoid medicines as long as possible?
1. Daily Walking - 45 min; Light weight training -10 min. 2. Daily diet - 4-6 chapaties depending on your weight and build, vegetables - 200 g, Dal + Nonveg - 100 g, snack - 1 plate, fruits - 100 g, 3. Divide the diet into 6 small meals. Eat at every 2 hours. 4. Strictly avoid White Rice, Potatoes, Sweet and Fried food. Contact a good naturalist doctor for food-medicine.

I do notknow about any curative treatment of hypothyroidism but it a very simple condition to treat. The treatment also doesnot have any significant side effects so please get it treated as per allopathy way.

Please You will be prone to it Please be careful Do regular yoga and pranayam daily Avoid oily spicy and fast food Avoid processed foods Have a habit of walking daily Don't be lethargic Do check your blood sugar once in 6 mths

I am 45 years old and sugar Glucose Tolerance Test carried out and results are Blood sugar fasting-108. 5 mg% Sugar PG 2 hrs-171.4 mg% .doctor advise me medicine metformin Hydrochloride prolonged release tablets 500 mg before breakfast as prescribed by Endocrinologists. Mr. Lybrate-user, your glucose levels show a pre diabetes situation. No treatment is needed with drugs. A modified lifestyle is the requirement. Daily 1 hour exercise, maintaining normal weight and taking a balanced diet is needed. Avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries & other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks (colas), fructose corn syrup containing products, highly processed foods & high fat milk products. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads. & fruits. Use whole grain flour for chapati & roti. T.

What should I do for my dry skin? Is it due to thyroid? If yes then what can be done?

Hi, yes, thyroid dysfunction can be one of the reasons for dry skin. Use bakson's face wash, schwabe's aloe vera cream regularly. Don't let the area get any kind of friction like rubbing (rubbing even the cream or oil), scratching, pinching, etc. Any kind of friction makes the condition worse! increase the intake of vitamin a (green veggies, reddish or yellow veggies or fruits like carrot, papaya, water melon, egg yolks, etc.), vitamin c (citrus fruits like oranges, kinus, mausambi, lemon, etc. And amla, green veggies, tomatoes, green peas), vitmain e (nuts sp. Walnut, almonds, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, fish) and protein (pulses, legumes, sprouts, non-veg, eggs, etc.). Take 10-12 glasses of water in a day. Medication: take petroleum 200 and natrum mur. 6x/ thrice daily for 1 month. Revert me back there after.

Hello lybrate user as from your diet its seems you take lots of fruits n healthy diet so its good your diabetic range is near by but this is not time for any medication what your weight Go for walk atleast 30mins daily and if you get any symptoms get an HBA1C done which tells us long term sugar control

thyroid gland is present in every one of us. So every body is thyroid positive. Unless you clarify that term of yours it is difficult to answer. By chance if you are meaning that you have hypothyroidism (tsh levels high) then treatment is with thyroxine tablets and that is for life time.

Need to know how much is the strength ( mg ) of the thyronorm you are taking. You may have to increase. Then weight reduction can be achieved by only exercising to burn your fat and cutting down your food to half of what you are taking now. Read my article on obesity in health tips column. Hello, Yes she can develop diabetes, just a few signs excessive thirst, hunger,tiredness, frequent urination and sometimes associated with unexplained weight loss are some common symptoms. However it is better to confirm by a sugar test after the approval of endocrinologist.

●Eat regular meals throughout the day at same time everyday..Avoid skipping meals ●Include high fibre foods at each meal e.g. legumes(beans/lentils ),nuts(almonds,walnut),eggs etc ●Take fruit as a healthy snack e.g. apples,pears,papaya,mausami,jamun,guava ●Try to avoid –grapes,mango,bananas,jackfruit(cheeku) ●Vegetables to be included in plenty-at least 2 servings per meal ●Reduce the fat intake,fried foods,cakes,pastries and foods containing palm oil and coconut oil  ●Include healthy foods like daliya,oats ●Reduce salt intake in the diet to 1 tsp or less per day ●stay away from especially labelled diabetic foods(they are of no benefit),and saturated fats  ●Limit intake of sugar and sugary foods like sweets ●If so desire can take sugarfree as sugar substitute for sweetening purposes

Backache may due to cumulative effect of so many diseases, take regular medicines as prescribed go for a regular morning walk, this will help you to some extent.

8 months back my tsh was 7.5 and I was put on thyrox 25 mcg. Now the tsh has shot up to 17.2 and I'm currently taking thyrox 50 mcg. I have been having bradykinesia symptoms for the past 6 months and my doc suspects that it could be PD and put me on rasalect1 mg one per day. I have been given to understand that bradykinesia is a symptom of hypothyroid as well. How do I know whether my bradykinesia symptoms are because of PD or hypothyroid?

Dear user with the limited amount of information available we can very well understand your concern for hypothyroidism and parkinsons disease. Be assured bradykinesia is not a symptom of hypothyroidism rather it causes bradycardia which is slowing of heart rate. Will suggest to get your tsh rechecked within 6 weeks so that if dose modification is needed it can be done. Hope that solves your query. Anything more then feel free to ask.

Acute pain in the right iliac fossa with tenderness and also pain in umbilical region and fever are typical symptom of appendicitis and apart from taking symptomatic treatment take antibiotics and it's better to take liquid diet for better healing of the wound and few tips for diabetes- few tips on daily diet say no to maida items like toast, khaari, naan, white bread. Can drink tea but without sugar say no to buffalo milk and can drink cows milk can eat brown bread can eat sprout's can eat green vegetables, can eat chappati, bajra ka rotla can eat one katori of rice twice a day with dal to avoid farsan food items can eat fruits say no to coconut water.

Hello 200 to 300 mg sugar is high, this can cause a lot if diabetes related completions such as affecting eyes, kidneys, nerves etc. So it is essential to have tighter control. You may havevto shift to insulin injection which can bring sugar levels closer to target.

Hi Frozen shoulder takes a long time to heal. Some take few months others take 5 Years. If it's the pain that's troubling you, painkillers can be taken. If it's still severe steroid injections will help. Along with this physiotherapy has to be continued. Stiff shoulder needs stretching exercises. An orthopedician will help you further from here.

Hi , 1.Eat a lot of non-starchy vegetables, beans, and fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, and berries. 2.Even tropical fruits like bananas, mangoes, and papayas tend to have a lower glycemic index than typical desserts 3.Eat grains in the least-processed state possible: “unbroken,” such as whole-kernel bread, brown rice, and whole barley, millet. 4.Limit white potatoes and refined grain products to small side dishes. 5.Limit concentrated sweets—including high-calorie foods with a low glycemic index, such as ice cream—to occasional treats. Eliminate sugar-sweetened drinks. 6.Eat a healthful type of protein at most meals, such as beans, fish, or skinless chicken.Choose foods with healthful fats, such as olive oil, nuts (almonds, walnuts), and avocados. 7.Limit saturated fats from dairy and other animal products. Completely eliminate partially hydrogenated fats (trans fats), which are in fast food and many packaged foods. 8.Have three meals and one or two snacks each day, and don’t skip breakfast. 9.Eat slowly and stop when full
