My front tooth is half break and it is very painful. So you tell me what should I do.
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment with a cap. Advance procedures can be done with laser.. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

TOOTH ACHE
Salt mixed with pepper can be of great use when a tooth becomes extremely sensitive as both the ingredients have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
Mix equal amounts of pepper and common salt with a few drops of water to form a paste.
Apply the paste directly on the affected tooth and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
Do this daily for several days.

Taking a large no. of medications often leads to a dry mouth. Increase your fluid intake or ask your dentist about an artifical saliva product or chew sugarless gum after a meal to keep your mouth moist.

Tips for preventing tooth cavities

Tips for preventing tooth cavities
Soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices should be consumed in a limited quantity because they are acidic in nature. Acidic food or drinks often soften the tooth material which leads to the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel, resulting in cavities (holes).

Dear bleeding from gums can have numerous causes but the most common cause of the problem is poor/inadequate oral hygiene maintenance. Over a period of time the gum tissues surrounding the tooth get infected and swollen and start bleeding even by the slightest provocation. As is evident from your question you have been concerned about your problem for quite some time now and have on your part tried to cure it by changing tooth pastes. Actually the problem is more related to our faulty and inadequate brushing technique. What you need to do now is to visit a dentist & get a professional dental cleaning done. Once that is done get into the habit of brushing at least twice daily, regular rinsing of mouth and flossing. Pleas take instructions from your dentist for the proper technique to brush and floss. That should keep your gum healthy and you happy. Regards.

Hi lybrate-user, the toothache you are suffering from may be due to a variety of causes, the most common being: 1. Tooth decay 2. Tooth fracture 3. A damaged filling 4. Infected gums the most common cause is a long-standing cavity or tooth decay, which usually requires a root canal treatment (rct). The same treatment applies to a tooth fracture as well. In case of a damaged filling, there may be two possibilities: either the filling can be removed and replaced with a new one after applying a soothing base material; or if the damaged filling is placed deep near the nerves of the tooth, it may require an rct. Infected gums usually are treated with deep cleaning/scaling after which there is permanent relief from pain. So, only if your toothache has a gum problem as a cause, will you get relief from scaling.

Most urgent treatment for your teeth is complete scaling (cleaning). Then the dentist will check which all teeth can be saved. Mobile teeth might have to be removed according to their condition. Doctor will also prescribe some mouthwash or gumpaint. Your pyorrhea progression is due to diabetes and should be controlled. So get regular checkups for diabetes from your gp or endocrinologist for better outcome of dental treatment.
