We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Hello Well, if you are suffering from some kind of infection then it may affect her. But it's actually suggested not to make oral contact when there is some lesions in mouth. So it's better if you wait. For quick results use honey on ulcer and let it flow by itself.

you are having smell and bad breath . this is due to poor oral health . .for smell problem you need to take care of teeth and maintain good oral hygiene, like brushing your teeth twice a day with colgate fresh mint tooth paste ,regular rinse with Mouthwashes (listerine )after meals ,this will help to avoid the bacteria in plaque, that accumulates in the mouth. you have to visit dental surgeon every six month . maintain oral cleanliness to make sure your teeth stay healthy.

Dear lybrate user, you haven't specified the duration of the patch and whether it's painful or not. A non-healing ulcer (more than 2 weeks old) requires a proper clinical checkup so consult your dentist immediately to know the exact cause. Also, drink plenty of water and fluids and avoid fried & spicy food.

No it is not necessary. If doctor removes all nerve tissue completely on first sittingsitting, then probably you may not require injections in the second sitting. Secondly r. C. T should be done in not more than 2 sittings. Ask your dentist again. Good luck.

What are the benefits of dental implants over other treatments?

Why are dental implants often the first choice and a standard of care compared to other options to restore missing or damaged teeth?

Next best thing to healthy, natural teeth.  Strong and stable, a dental implant restores a lost tooth so that it looks, feels, fits and functions like a natural tooth. Other options can lead to bone deterioration, and may interfere with eating, smiling, speaking and other activities of everyday life.Built to last. Dental implants are a long-term solution. Traditional, tooth-supported dental bridges only last five to seven years, and with proper care often more than 10 years, but at some point they may need to be replaced. While dental implants may need periodic adjustments, they can last a lifetime when properly placed and cared for over time.Enjoy life without worrying about your teeth!  No need to stay home or feel uncomfortable in public, embarrassed because your smile looks different, or worrying that missing teeth will limit your ability to join in the fun or that removable dentures or tooth-supported replacement teeth will loosen or fall out when you talk, eat or laugh. Teeth restored with dental implants are teeth that let you, not your teeth, lead your life.Retain your natural face shape, and smile.  A face without teeth can sag and appear sunken and sad. Dental implants allow you to maintain the natural shape of your face and smile.Protect healthy bone. Leaving empty spaces in your mouth after losing one or more teeth can lead to additional health issues, such as the loss and deterioration of some of your jawbone. When it is not being used to support a natural tooth, the jawbone deteriorates, losing its strength and firmness. Dental implants are the only dental restoration option that preserves and stimulates natural bone, actually helping to stimulate bone growth and prevent bone loss.Keep your teeth in your mouth – not in a cup.Dental implants allow you to keep your teeth where they belong – in your mouth. And no more worrying that your dentures might slip or fall out. Brush, floss and care for teeth that have been replaced using dental implants exactly the way you would natural teeth – in your mouth.Speak easy.  Adjusting to removable dentures can mean struggling to pronounce everyday words. Not so with dental implants, which function like natural teeth.Eat your favorite foods! Taste and enjoy the foods you love without hesitation. You can bite naturally, eat virtually anything you want and, unlike removable dentures that can feel uncomfortable, you can experience the full taste of the food you eat with dental implants, too.Look Mom, no cavities! Cavities can’t occur in an implant-restored crown, or replacement tooth; however, you will need to visit your dentist as scheduled and clean and care for it and your gums and mouth every day, the same as you would if it were a natural tooth.Keep teeth in place – silently. Dentures may slip when you eat, talk, smile, laugh, kiss, yawn or cough, so that you have to “reposition” them back into place in the mouth. Dental implants are fixed in place and fuse naturally with your jawbone, meaning your replacement teeth won’t move, click or shift. Protect your healthy teeth. Placing a tooth-supported bridge requires grinding away the teeth on one or both sides of the missing tooth or teeth – thereby damaging healthy teeth to restore those that are missing. The modified healthy teeth are attached to, and support, the bridge. Dental implants go in the jawbone, in the spot where your missing tooth root was, without impacting healthy teeth. They also help prevent healthy, adjacent teeth from shifting as they would if an empty space were left for an extended period of time.More predictable than other repair and restoration methods. Dental implant treatment has a track record of reliable, long-term successful outcomes and is often considered “more predictable” than other treatments to repair or replace missing teeth, including bridgework, removable appliances and retreatment of failing root canal (endodontic) therapy.

I think you need professional cleaning. There are many areas where a patient can not brush effectively. Also if you have tartar, its difficult to clean. So get your scaling done by a dentist. Also keeping tongue cleaned is necessary. Drink more of a water and you can also use teeth friendly chewing gums to freshen up your mouth odor. But all this will not give good result without professional cleaning. Consult your dentist.

Your tongue needs as much cleaning as much your teeth do. Use a proper tongue scraper daily to remove tongue plaque and to freshen your breath.

Why use Sealants?

MDS, BDS
Dentist
Ask Free Question
Dental sealants are barriers that can protect one's teeth from developing cavities. Made out of plastic material, there are usually applied to the molars and premolars at the back of the mouth.

How are dental sealants applied?

-The teeth on which the sealant is to be applied is cleaned properly and then dried. A solution containing acid is applied on the teeth to make the surface rough, as this helps the sealant bond well with the teeth.
-Then the teeth are rinsed, following which they are dried. Finally, the sealant is applied. At times, a special light is used to make the sealant dry easily.

Reasons to use dental sealants:

-The chewing surfaces of the teeth are aided by dental sealants. Sealants are thin coatings that are painted on those areas.
-One main reason for using sealants would be that even though brushing and flossing can remove the food particles stuck in the grooves of the teeth, at times some particles may be left behind. Sealants can prevent this.
-The sealant spreads over the enamel in the grooves of the teeth, acting as a shield. This prevents food particles from getting stuck in the pits and fissures of the teeth. When such food particles are stuck in the grooves of the teeth, cavities are likely to form. Applying sealants can prevent this.
-Children, who are at a greater risk of developing cavities, are often advised to use dental sealants to prevent their teeth from decay and damage.
-Adults whose teeth have suffered considerable decay may seek the help of sealants to protect them.
-Adults who have had fillings done in their teeth cavities may also apply sealants in order to prevent any further damage in the near or distant future.

Hi lybrate-user. It is important to confirm if your tooth is milk teeth or permanent teeth. If its permanent teeth (if it can be saved) thrn its better we save it. If it's milk teeth then removal followed by a tooth replacement is a best option. Consult a dentist.

you were treated correctly at that time faisal, but only treatment is not enough. bleeding gums and bad breath are due to deposition of plaque and calculus around teeth. professional cleaning removes this and hence treats the cause. but even after treatment, not following the oral hygiene habits properly can reestablish the disease. visit a dentist every 6 months for professional cleaning of your teeth, brush 2 times a day, floss your teeth, rinse your mouth after every meal, eat healthy food and drink a lots of water. I advise you to visit a dentist and get your teeth cleaned again as it was 2 years ago you went for the same and then strictly follow the oral hygiene habits.
