Please do meditation to relieve stress. • Avoid big meals late in the evening. You need three to four hours to digest a big meal. • Spicy or sugary food, even at suppertime, is usually a bad idea. Spices can irritate your stomach, and when it tosses and turns, so will you. Having a lot of sugary food—especially chocolate, which contains caffeine—can make you feel jumpy. • Try a soothing aromatic bath before bedtime. Add 5 drops lavender oil and 3 drops ylang-ylang oil to warm bathwater and enjoy a nice soak. Consult me for homeopathic treatment. Recommend me by clicking on recommend option and leave feedback.

Dear Lybrate user, You should not scratch or rub the haven. Wash your face thrice daily. Drink plenty of liquids. Eat fruits veg. Salads etc. Avoid junk oily food totally. You may apply twice daily lemon juice on your face for 15 minutes and wash it. Do not use any product or ointment on your face. Do it for ten days and report back immediately for further course of action.

Uterine Fibroids - How Homeopathy Can Handle it?

Uterine Fibroids - How Homeopathy Can Handle it?

Uterine fibroids, also referred to as uterine myomas) are non-cancerous tumors that grow within the muscle tissue of the uterus. As many as 20% to 50% women between the age group of 18 to 40 suffer from the condition, but not all cases warrant treatment.

It may be as tiny as a coin or it may grow to the size of a watermelon, making people think the lady is 6/7 months pregnant! There may be one big fibroid or several small ones.

Causes:

Though the exact causes are not known, family history and hormonal imbalances are said to be the main causes for the same.

Types of Uterine Fibroids

The four types are:

  1. Subserosal Uterine Fibroids: Develops outside the uterus and continues to grow.
  2. Intramural Uterine Fibroids: The most common type that lead to pregnancy like tummy. They develop within the uterus wall and continue to expand.
  3. Submucosal Uterine Fibroids: Because these develop within the uterus lining, they are most likely to be the cause of heavy flow during periods.
  4. Pedunculated Uterine Fibroids: These grow on the inner or outer side of a small stalk connecting to the uterus.

Common Symptoms:

  1. An enlarged uterus is the most common symptom. It is often mistaken for general weight gain or pregnancy.
  2. Prolonged and painful menstrual cycle, that is many times irregular.
  3. Urinary incontinence and constant urge to urinate.
  4. Pelvic pressure.
  5. Pressure on the bowels leading to constipation.
  6. Pain during intercourse.

General treatment

If you find out that you have fibroids during an examination or if you visit a doctor with any of these symptoms, they will most likely ask for an ultrasound or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) which will confirm the type of fibroid and the extent of your problem. Treatment includes non-invasive-focused ultrasound surgery

Treatment with Homeopathy:

One of the best advantages of choosing Homeopathy is that it works without side effects. It addresses the issue rather than the symptom. A surgical procedure mentioned in general treatment does remove the fibroids but there is no guarantee that they won't grow back as the underlying issue of hormonal imbalance remains.

During a clinical study of the effects of Homeopathy on fibroids, 85% patients showed improvement and 48% people had complete fibroid removal.

Treatment: There are medicines in Homeopathy that can treat uterine fibroids, cervical fibroids and help maintain normal hormonal balance in females.

Urinary Stone Disease - How Treatment Vary According to Symptoms?

Urinary Stone Disease - How Treatment Vary According to Symptoms?

The kidneys are the main excretory organs of the body and are responsible for removing all mineral wastes from the body. This high concentration of minerals predisposes them to form stones- which are small crystals of various minerals they are exposed to. The entire urinary tract starting from the kidneys, the ureters, and the bladder are at risk of developing stones. The risk is higher in people who do not drink enough water, as the minerals are not able to be cleared out.

Depending on the location, stones are named

  1. Renal: These are formed in the body of the kidneys.
  2. Ureteric: The urine passes from the kidney to the ureter through the ureters and can form stones, leading to blockage also
  3. Bladder: When the urine is stored in the bladder for a while, the chances of forming stones are quite high.

Symptoms

  • Pain that is sharp, shooting pain on either side of the spine.
  • There could be fever, vomiting, etc., but the pain is very indicative.

Management

  • Stones less than 4 mm usually pass on their own
  • Larger ones may require shock waves from an external source which breaks it into smaller ones, which are then eliminated.

Immediate treatment

  • Intravenous injections of pain relievers; repeat if required.
  • Antiemetics to control nausea and vomiting
  • Watch for an hour for improved symptoms
  • Send the patient home with these prescriptions for continued use
  • Increased amount of water consumption (up to 3 liters per day), until the urine is almost colorless
  • Strain the urine to check if the stone is passed, this is done.

If the patient presents with the following symptoms, immediate admission may be required:

  • Persisting symptoms after an hour of treatment
  • Pregnancy
  • Persistently high fever (about 104) with severe shakes and/or chills
  • People on dialysis and/or renal failure
  • Elderly (greater than 60 year olds)
  • Severe dehydration and/or vomiting

Larger kidney stones (>4 mm) are managed as below.

  • Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL): This common treatment uses shock waves from an external source which breaks down the stones. The smaller ones easily pass through the urine.
  • Ureteroscopy: In ureteroscopy, a endoscope is passed through urethra to the ureters.
  • Open surgery: If the above measures are not feasible, open surgery may be the last option. This is very rarely used though.

Prevention of kidney stones

  • Drink adequate amounts of water, at least 2 liters per day
  • Cut down oxalate rich foods like beet, nuts, okra, spinach, etc.
  • Reduce sodium and animal protein
  • Continue calcium as always. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Urologist.

Homoeopathic treatment SKIN AID PLUS ( BAKSON) This pack of skin aid plus contains SKIN AID DROPS nd DERM AID TABLETS SKIN AID DROPS-10 drops in 1 spoon water twice daily DERM AIDTABS-Chew 1 tab twice daily SEAFOLIUM CREAM Apply twice daily 6-8 glass water daily 2 glasss milk daily Take nutritious diet nd exercise regularily Lemon Juice A quick and easy solution is lemon juice. Lemons have vitamin C that can lighten dark spots on your face. It’s easy to apply. 1. Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. 2. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. 3. Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with plain water, rosewater, or honey. You can also use lime juice to get rid of black spots, applying it in the same manner as described above. 2. Buttermilk Buttermilk is also beneficial in getting rid of dark spots. Like lemon juice, it also helps fade blemishes and black spots but without causing burning sensation. 1. Take four teaspoons of buttermilk. 2. Add two teaspoons of fresh tomato juice. 3. Mix the two ingredients (both have excellent bleaching properties) and then apply. 4. Wash it off after 15 minutes. The lactic acid in milk too, will gradually reduce skin pigmentation, and brighten and tone your overall skin complexion. So, if you do not have buttermilk, simply apply soak a cotton ball in milk and dab it directly on your spots. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off Put milk on a cotton ball and dab it directly on your spots. Repeat this procedure twice daily for four to five weeks. You can also prepare a solution by mixing milk and honey and apply the solution to your dark spots, leaving it on for 10 minutes. 4. Oats Oatmeal powder is considered good for skin exfoliation. Hence, you can apply an oatmeal mask on your face and neck to remove dead skin and black spots. 1. Grind half a cup of rolled oats. 2. Add three to four tablespoons of lemon juice to make a paste. 3. Scrub it on your skin and wash it off with warm water when it dries. If it becomes messy, use a clean cloth soaked in warm water to remove the mask. Follow this treatment once or twice a week.

Uncommon Penis Problems: How to Handle Phimosis?

Uncommon Penis Problems: How to Handle Phimosis?

Men who suffer from phimosis might wonder what it will take to overcome the condition. The good news is that careful penis care, under a doctor's supervision, is likely to solve the problem with time and patience. However, there are other options as well. Here's what a man needs to know about this uncommon penis problem.

What is phimosis, anyway?

Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin of the penis cannot retract beyond the head of the penis. Obviously, this is a condition found only in intact men. Being unable to retract the foreskin is actually very common in babies and young children, but as they begin to mature, the foreskin should eventually move freely over the head of the penis.

For some men, however, the problem never resolves. Or perhaps it does, but then suddenly becomes an issue again for no apparent reason.

There are several different types of phimosis:

1) Pathological phimosis is when the ability of the foreskin to move is reduced by infection, inflammation or scarring. This is the most unlikely cause, but it does happen to men of any age.

2) Congenital phimosis means that the foreskin has been tight since birth, and that it didn't loosen up with time. This isn't caused by any sort of medical condition, trauma or the like. Fortunately, this is the easiest to treat.

3) Common phimosis is usually found in young male children, when the foreskin adheres to the head of the penis. This is something a boy grows out of over time; if he does not, it will become apparent that common phimosis is actually congenital phimosis.

What's the treatment for phimosis?

When it comes to treatment of phimosis, there are several ways to go. In the earliest stages, there is often a 'wait and see' approach. During this time, a man can try numerous types of manual stretching to see if the problem resolves on its own. This stretching is quite similar to masturbation, as a man simply works to move the foreskin up and down, gradually opening it up a bit more to allow for it to retract. However, in extremely tight cases this might not work.

Another option is medication. Two drugs that have been tried with some success include betamethasone and hyaluronidase. When given to young men in a study, there was a 54% success rate when they were given the combination, and all patients tolerated the medication very well.

However, the above methods don't have the best success long-term. That's why many doctors look to surgery as the answer. Circumcision is the most common treatment for phimosis, as it removes the foreskin and immediately resolves the issue. However, some men will opt for a partial circumcision, which means that the surgeon makes a series of tiny incisions in the foreskin to help it open up, but doesn't remove it entirely.

Keep in mind that surgery is often not recommended when a man is young, as everyone develops differently and phimosis might go away on its own as he matures. However, those over the age of 18 might be a candidate for circumcision if this penis problem continues and causes significant discomfort or an inability to enjoy sexual pleasure.

Those who are trying to use the manual method to stretch the foreskin might have better luck if they employ a specially formulated penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) during each attempt. The right crème will contain Shea butter and vitamin E, which provide ample hydration to soothe the skin and keep it as pliable as possible, thus possibly enhancing the work a man does to resolve phimosis through manual stretching.
