Dear Lybrate user
cataract is any opacity in lens or its capsule. This results from denaturation of lens protein. This damage to lens is permanent. If lens opacity is small and away from visual axis then glass may be helpful. After few months lens opacity involve the whole of lens. And this stage need surgical treatment.

retinal detachment is absolutely treatable. If you r diagnosed cases of retinal detachment then urgently you need surgical treatment. Do not wait for complete loss of vision otherwise blindness can happen in affected eye. Seeing floating in front of eye is called floaters. It is also a symptom of retinal detachment. Vision loss in diebetes is due to diabetic retinopathy. If vision is completely lost then it very difficult to restore vision. But if diabetic retinopathy is of nonproliferative type or there is cystoid macular edema then only remained vision can be preserved by laser treatment and/ or intravitreal antivgef drug. And in every situation diabetes should be controlled state.

Dear Lybrate user
commonly there are two type of glaucoma. OPEN ANGLE AND CLOSED ANGLE. In open angle type patient age group 40 years or above, they can complain frequent changes of near vision glasses, sometimes heaviness or browache, sometimes symptomless. In closed type patient may have various symptoms according to severety glare, rainbow color halos, eyeache, headaches, blurring of vision. In severe cases patients may complain sudden onset of pain with loss of vision. If you have family history of glaucoma or on long term use of steroidal drug or history of trauma in your eyes or you are above 40 years and have above symptom then you should contact to your eye specialist. Eye transplantation is not for glaucoma treatment.

Dear Lybrate user
according to your history your are suffering from Myopia. But eye pain may be due to not accurate correction. Sometime it need post cycloplegic refraction. Or as your doctor says due to dry eye or due to many other reason. It is my advice you should go for accurate myopic correction and detailed fundus examination including retinal periphery examinations to rule out break and holes.

Headache is nonspecific symptom. It may happen in some eye disease or some other disease like brain related, stress induced, high blood pressure and many more. According to you / your father history one-eyed with occasional headache is not significant. Your father should go for detailed checkup in left eye with glass power checkup (refraction) by a eyespecialist nearby.
